The room was clean and had a lot of space. The refrigerator did not work but other than that we had no complaints about the room. Yes it's a drive from... this location to the beach but we went for other things as well. Clean, staff was super friendly. Overall we were very satisfied and would stay here again. The hotel was generally shabby and run down. However, our biggest complaint was with the through the wall HVAC unit. It gave off a foul odor that was bad enough that we turned the unit off and slept in an uncomfortable warm room the rest of the night. In addition, the pillows were old and worn out, the carpet was filthy, they were stingy with towels, […] a lamp in the room was shorted out and emitted sparks when we tried to turn it on - it would have been hilarious if it were happening to someone else. We check in very late, about 3:00 a.m., so we went straight to bed and checked out the next morning shortly after getting up. Therefore, we didn't get a real good feeling about the place. This motel was basic, but for the price it was awesome. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the service at the desk was good. There's a grocery right next door and a walmart a block away, so that was convenient. Also, there's a small, but well-maintained outdoor pool that was refreshing.
