"A French twist on Aloft or Nylo - would stay again"
We stayed over Christmas. Neat place - the open atrium design where every floor looks down on the large lobby was near. Our "junior executive" suite was wonderful for the price and very roomy. Beds were mediocre. Our room and bathroom was very clean. Minor issues: the shower head was weak, the fridge didn't really get cold regardless of the setting, […] and neither of our beds had flat sheets (nothing between the fitted matress cover and the comforter). Also, there were no drink machines in the vending room on our floor (didn't check other floors) - just ice and snacks. We went with our rather large dog. They have a nice pet policy. There was some grass around the back of the hotel to walk the dog. Paying $20 a night for self-park was annoying, but the low price of the room made up for it for us. Service at check in was very quick and professional, and our bill at check out was correct. We ordered room service for breakfast and it was very tasty and worth the cost. However, on a busy evening we could not get through to room service, so we tried the restaurant/bar in the lobby - it had a very limited menu, but everything was good. Service in the lobby restaurant/bar was slow and disorganized, but friendly. The customer service was awesome. The staff was friendly. The reason for my stay was my daughter turned 13 had a slumber part for her there and having as many girls as I did the staff didn't mind and the room walls appear to be pretty thick. We stayed here after a few days of traveling. We were really impressed with the room. It was large and felt more like a small apartment rather than a normal hotel room. The bed was so comfortable! "Family friendly to a fault?"
I booked this hotel as a surprise for my boyfriend. I checked in at 4 but immediately had to leave for last minute prep. Once I got back to the hotel I noticed the large amount of kids running around literally screaming in the halls. I tried not to pay much attention to it because it was still early, about 7PM. I left the hotel again to get dinner around […] 10 and returned to the same noise again to me that was early considering it was a saturday night and I'm sure the kids have been trapped inside all day from the cold and rain. Finally around 1130 the screaming thru the halls stopped but little did I know that the people in the room next door would be just as loud and I couldn't tell exactly where all the loud talking was coming from so I couldnt say anything to the front desk or anything. The next morning housekeeping came knocking at 9:45 AM even though I specifically advised them the day before that I wouldn't be checking out until noon and did not want to be bothered before then. Long story short this is a really good hotel if you have kids or don't mind the noise from kids. This is NOT a good hotel for a relaxing weekend for adults. "Surprisingly mediocre with baffling oversights"
The Hotel has an above-average lobby design and decor for a corporate client base. But, there is a notable inferior quality (and quantity) of attentiveness, service and personnel compared to its competitors. It feels like management has "mailed it in". Some examples: (1) Valet personnel are scarce, with long wait times. (2) Unstaffed front desk or […] valet area. No clear valet booth, so you wander around to find someone. (3) No clear luggage assistance. (4) Plumbing problems. Hot water takes about 15 minutes to start, and then it starts at scalding heat no matter the setting. (5) Kitchen staff that cook a la carte items were inattentive, absent, slow, hard to understand, and unwelcoming. 6) Indoor pool was far too cold. This was a Fall trip and the pool is supposed to be warm. Instead it was barely lukewarm. 7) Quality of maid service was poor. Missed areas all around. 8) There is a serious lack of brochures and information in the room. Nothing sets forth the hotel's amenities. The basement pool is mentioned nowhere except the website. I think its a hotel that is within an upgraded and renovated older hotel. The layout is naturally in an older style. Kind of like an old Embassy Suites with the open center space. Unfortunately hotels.com allowed me to book a room at this lovely hotel, but due to "overbooking!" I was turned around basically & directed to check-in to a sister hotel minutes away.
