This is a real gem. Quiet neighborhood but within walking distance of many of the sites. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The furnishings in the lobby, restaurant and the rooms give the hotel a nice family feeling. Would stay there again. Can be a little hard to find.

Easy 5 minute walk to the center of town, the hotel was comfortably removed from the insanity of Brugge's tourist-impact zone. Great free breakfast, friendly reception, and comfortable bed. The hotel has its own bar (ring the bell to get the desk clerk to come up and mix you a drink) and a nice, tranquil outdoor patio with tables and chairs for kicking back during the good weather season. Only thing that could be improved is the bed pillows - they reminded me of a flat bag full of rocks. Thank you Hotel Ter Brughe, we will plan to stay with you again when we return to Brugge.

Hard to believe that there's a better place to stay if you want to get a real "feel" for Bruges. It's an easy 2 km drive to the rail station where you can park all day for 3,5 Euros and get a free bus to the middle of town. Our room was superb, with every convenience, and the owner was pleased to honor a couple of special requests. The breakfast was very special with fresh bread and pastries, meats, cheese, fruit, choice of juices, smoked salmon, and more. This must be the best deal for a travelling couple and the price includes WIFI, parking, and the grand breakfast.
In the centre of Bruges
The 63 room Floris Hotel Bruges is located just a short stroll from Bruges’ historic Grote Markt. Just off T’ Zand Square it is easily accessible from Bruges Station. There is limited onsite customer car parking (payable locally). There are plenty of restaurants and cafés surrounding the hotel and there is agreat new bar and lounge in the hotel, complete with real fire.
Total renovation 2011
The Floris is Bruges’ newest hotel and has a trendy new lobby, in “modern colonial” style complete with a lounge-bar and reception area. We offer you the use of a large screen Apple Mac so that you can look through your new holiday snaps. For the children we have games consoles and a large screen to keep them busy. There is limited onsite parking (payable locally).

"Disappointing"
Bathroom had no ventilation, so it was of course moldy and the shower curtain was disgusting. The ceiling leaked in the morning, presumably from the shower in the room above us. The walls were paper thin, so there was a lot of noise. The curtains were good, but offset from the window and so ineffective. The windows opened to a patio of sorts, shared […] by several rooms across from each other creating the perfect sound amplication and echo. There was no air conditioning, and a sign that says to keep the windows closed to prevent mosquitos--the room was very warm, loud and uncomfortable to sleep in to say the least. The hotel was otherwise very nice looking and the location was close enough to down town. In no way worth the asking price, or any price, I wouldn't stay here again if it was free. Read more
"Away from city center, stay ruined by smell..."
This was the most disappointing hotel of our trip. It was a mile from the train station and just outside the looping roadway - so it was a decent walk anywhere. Firstly, the hotel has two parts - the old part and the new part, which smelled really bad. We were put in the new part and the room smelled like sewer. We quickly realized after opening all […] the windows that the sewer smell was coming in from outside. we were forced to close the windows and deal with it. Luckily it was only one night. Wi-fi did not work in the new part of the hotel so I had to use it in the lobby and even then, the wi-fi wouldn't work. The staff was very very friendly and accommodating but the hotel itself needs A LOT of work. I would not recommend this hotel unless they did a major renovation. Read more

Nice room, good size and good shower. Location was walkable to everything. Halls had a funky smell, with old carpet, but overall clean.

The hotel wasn't in the main center of Brugge, but only a 5 or 10 minute walk from everything in the center. On a busy street, but our room was very quiet. The breakfast was quite good, fresh croissants, baguette, eggs, yogurt, and lots more, good cappuccino, even though from a machine. Reception was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very small, […] but normal for European older buildings. Hotel was clean, but the back lower floor had a bad smell, that we think came up from the sewer below. Hotel seemed to be unaware when we asked them about it. Lobby had nice sitting area with large TV, but we didn't take advantage of it. There is also a pool, but we didn't bring suits to swim. "Met expectations"
The hotel is well located, right on bus line and not far from the train station. The comp. breakfast was very good, and to me the bike I rented there at the hotel was just what I wanted to tour the town, two days in a row. The room was better than others I had reserved in Europe for about the same price.

The desk staff was warm and very helpful- they provided us with restaurant recommendations that ended up being some of our best experiences in Europe. The hotel is clean, the breakfast had good choices and the breakfast room was inviting. We were given a simple,clean, good sized, "family room" for the three of us, and we were very comfortable sleeping. […] Otherwise, nothing inside the room worked. A broken handle on the inside of the bathroom door (which the hotel staff did not know about until we told them) ended up causing one of my children to be locked in the room, in the bathroom, for almost 45 minutes until we could rescue her. Nothing worked in the room: not the TV, not the alarm clock, and obviously not the bathroom door. When these were mentioned to the desk staff, they said there was little they could do about it. The Floris Karos is an excellent, moderate sized hotel on the edge of the old city center. It provides excellent value for those that are willing to walk a few minutes into the city center. My wife and I have stayed in many European hotels, and we know they can be different than American hotels... smaller, no a/c, limited amenities and so forth. Hotel Karos was the worst by far. The hotel isn't very well kept. Our room had carpet stains and rust stains in the bathroom. The air conditioner in the room didn't work. The minibar was fully […] unplugged and not in working order (yet still in the room). Light bulbs were out. The hot tub/jacuzzi area was boarded over with plywood. On top of this, the hotel seemed to nickel-and-dime for everything... wifi internet access, use of the very worn sauna, etc. It was an okay place to sleep and the breakfast was fine, but other than that it was an utter disaster. The Floris Karos is close the the Market square and the station. Very well placed. Only complaint I had was when returning from a day out came back to my room to find the cleaners had left the door open.

We had a lovely room, nice pool, reasonable breakfast. Public car parking was not far and half the price of the hotel. Be warned the hotel insisted on an extra charge for a put up bed for my son, we had already paid extra at time of booking.I hope this will be refunded. The room overlooked the main road which with double glazing was fine but apart from […] a fan it was so hot. There is definitely a sewer smell around the open areas of the hotel. Excellent location within easy walking distance of the beautiful city centre. Spacious, comfortable rooms. Nice little swimming pool. Friendly staff with good english. Parking had been a concern before our stay but there is an inexpensive public car park just up the road.

Good reception and public areas. Excellent swimming pool. Buffet breakfast, O.K. The buffett area was in a small corner making for congestion round the hot food. "Did not meet our standards"
The hotel was pretty shabby, the doorknob fell off our room door and nothing was done. I had to carry in to the hotel two large suitcases, my two yr old and our coats, in full view of the receptionist and despite my obvious struggle no assistance was offered. Nor to the room. We also chose this place over others because their was an insure car park, […] yet it was full when we got there and still had to pay for our parking. On first impressions this hotel seemed nice, the foyer was well decorated and the concierge was very helpful. The rest of the hotel however was in very poor condition with peeling wallpaper and stained and ripped carpets. Our room had no phone, hairdrier, tv remote, bulb in the bedside lamp or drawers. It seemed barely furnished. The concierge was very […] apologetic and found a hair drier, bulb and remote control for us. Our room was at the front of the hotel and despite other reviewers reporting that it was quiet it was not when we were there on a Saturday night which made it difficult to sleep as the room was so warm but noisy with the window open. Breakfast was adequate and the only redeeming feature. We were in Bruges for the Christmas market and this was actually the only hotel we could find where we could stay for one night and not two. If we had paid an average rate we wouldn't have expected too much but we paid well over the odds for this room and were extremely disappointed. We were unsure whether the hotel was undergoing a refurbishment as there was such a contrast between the ground floor and the rest of the hotel. The hotel itself looks great inside and have quiet convenient location close to the historic centre. But I stayed on the second floor and looks like conditioning and ventilation there is poor. It was June and not that hot outside but extremely hot in the room. Also possibly they have some problems with the sewers there because the smell in the room […] wasn't really comfortable. Read more

This hotel offered everything one would need for a real value stay in Brugges. Its only 5 minutes walk to the town centre and has added advantage of parking on site (small fee). Aufenthalt war soweit super. Für die Kinder waren im Hotel die Spielecke und das Schwimmbad das Highlight. Eine Beanstandung war das Frühstücksbuffet, sehr einfach/minimalistisch.

Très bon séjour, l'hôtel est très agréable. La chambre est propre et confortable. Il y a une piscine, une petite salle de sport, une salle de jeux pour enfants et un bar-salon. Seul bémol: la piscine est assez froide..

Il personale è molto gentile ma non efficiente (abbiamo dovuto chiedere tre volte delle coperte e la carta igienica). Molto belli gli spazi comuni. Un hotel […] che consiglierei se non fosse per la puzza! Non so se è dovuta alle fogne o a problemi strutturali, ma il piano terra è invivibile dalla puzza! Das Doppelzimmer hatte auch nicht annährend Ähnlichkeit mit den veröffentlichten Beispielbildern. Das "echte" Zimmer war alt, nicht allzu sauber und die Matratzen dermassen durchgelegen. Warmwasser kommt erst nach gefühlten 5 Minuten Wasserdurchfluss. Die Silikondichtungen der Dusch-Badewanne waren dermassen verschimmelt. Die Lage des Hotels sowohl […] zur Innenstadt von Brugge wie auch der Verkehrsanbindung zur See ist optimal. Das Personal ist allesamt sehr freundlich. Frühstück spärlich aber ausreichend. Gut beim Frühstück ist der Kaffeevollautomat in Selbstbedienung. Statt des kleinen, recht teuren Hotelparkplatzes hinter dem Haus empfehle ich eher den kostenfreien Parkplatz entlang der Strasse, der rund 2 bis 3 Gehminuten entfernt liegt. Read more
