Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni 1 - Florence

This was the best hotel I've stayed in in Florence. The staff was friendly, helpful, breakfast excellent, view from my room were amazing - the Duomo on one side, the hills across the Arno on the other. Perfect location, would love to return again and again.

Convenient, lovely hotel We loved this hotel, right off the Arno at Ponte Triniti, convenient to all the sights. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, the staff was welcoming and helpful. The staff was very friendly and efficient as they made taxi arrangements for our trip to Rome and departure, along with wake up calls and attempted to answer our questions. We were provided with a nice little map of the area. Our room had a lovely marble bathroom with a tub, but I understand each room is different. The rooftop breakfast area was adorable […] and the food was very good. There was a selection of about five different juices. I have been in many four and five star hotels that might have had two or three juices. 24/7 coffee machine a big plus along with the free wifi. The location is a few minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio and the Galleria de la Uffizi. The hotel shares buildings with other businesses and apartments but this did not detract from the delightful ambiance of the place. It was a slight inconvenience to take one elevator to the lobby and then another to the rooftop dining. Our room looked out at the upper floors of the Ferragamo Store and offices across the street and we never saw anyone in those offices, thus allowing us to leave the drapes and/or double paned windows open as desired. My girlfriend really liked the place and there were many friendly couples from all over the world staying there. Most people seemed to stay two or three days, but we stayed six nights. No regrets whatsoever in picking this hotel. It was not high season but they had 19 of the 22 rooms occupied most of the time so it is obviously a very popular place to stay. Read more

Beautiful hotel with gorgeous rooftop terrace and incredible breakfast! We drove to Florence, and we had a lot of trouble finding the hotel initially. Rooms were a good size and in good shape. WiFi was free but kept having to log into the system every few minutes. Otherall, a nice hotel but very pricey.

Located in very upscale area of Florence. 6th floor terrace with a view was wonderful and staffed in the evening until 10:00 PM. However it was available 24 hrs on an honor basis. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was extremely accommodating and went out of their way to be the perfect host.

(Ferragamo's flagship store is across the street) From the hotel, its an easy walk to Duomo, Ponte Vecchio and musuems. Very pleaseant Hotel with Staff who went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Beautiful rooftop terrace with stunning views over the Arno, ideal for watching the sunsets. My wife is disabled and requires a wheelchair for travelling all but a very short distance so it was important for us to find a hotel in a central location that suited our […] needs. The location was ideal, being only 100 or so yards from Ponte Vecchio and centrally located for all the main attractions. Most importantly there is an excellent Gelataria immediately opposite on the other side of the bridge. The room we were allocated on the 4th floor, although designated as wheelchair accessible, was not ideally suited in that the bathroom was not designed for wheelchair access. This was not a problem for us but would be if you needed to take your wheelchair into the bathroom. The bath was very narrow and not easy to transfer in and out of. The room was a little basic considering the price but was immaculate, although the roadworks outside made a somewhat noisy companion early each morning. These look like they will be complete within a couple of weeks. The bed was very comfortable and immense. The breakfast buffet was OK but not inspiring but the setting for the rooftop terrace makes up for it. The service was excellent, friendly and prompt without being overbearing. Possibly the worlds slowest lift so be prepared to wait. Read more
