"Great family hotel."
I vacationed at the Hilton with my 5 grandchildren. There was something for everyone right on the grounds of the facility.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Eh, nice place except for the actual rooms"
Grounds are grand and a bit too big (there are trains and boats to take you from end to end). The lagoon area is a very safe ocean experience (lots of fish to see if you snorkel) complete with turtles. Rooms, however, are no different or better than any standard hotel including Kona and Keauhou hotels for less than half this price. The nearby KIngs […] and Queens Malls were convenient and useful with a particularly good Thai restaurant. So, overall, grounds are a nice experience, service was very good but the rooms . . . eh. "Plenty to do at the Hotel."
This is a huge facility. There are three towers. Lagoon tower has the best view. We don't know how the hotel assigns the room. We were put into the Palace Tower. Though, the building is older the room was very spacious. Kids enjoyed the pools and private lagoon. Beach access is not there as there are lava rocks all around it!!! Luau experience was great. […] Within hotel you may use the tram or boat to commute from one tower to the other. The breakfast buffet was okay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice resort, but overpriced, service low!"
We wanted to have a nice Christmas time and thought to pay more money in a nice resort and have a good time. The resort itself was nice, but you had to pay everything extra. The room was okay, but actually nothing special, so the price for me is not justified. When we checked in, there was only 1 receptionist and we had to wait for some time to be able […] to check in. We were 3 people in the room, but only had 2 sets of towels, room service did not replace all towels and bathroom utilities that was taken away. The pool bar closes already at 5 pm, so we went to another bar and had to wait for about 30 min to get our drink. The bar tender was wearing dirty clothes, I would not expect that this the standard in a Hilton hotel, they should train their staff proper hygiene standards and give them clean work clothes. We used the room service to order some milk for my son to go to sleep. It took more than 45 min until we it got delivered, by that time our son had fallen asleep already without having his milk. During lunch time, especially at Christmas day, there were not a lot of options available. We hate to eat out of plastic plates and especially for Christmas you don't want this. Everything that you want to use, costs extra and is very expensive. For the room rate that they charge, I would expect that at least 1-2 activities would be included, e.g. using kayaks or surf boards. This was the last time I stayed in such kind of a resort. It is not worth the money. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
My wife and 9 year old son and I had a great time. Plenty to do. Luau was very entertaining. Food was expensive and not that good. Found a great restaurant at Spencer's Beach.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful landscape resort"
The lush and beautiful landscape was awesome. The man made beach with tropical fish and dolphins was pretty cool too. Overall the 62 acres of tropical paradise was the only thing I was impress with. Restaurants was way too expensive for bad food. We started our trip with breakfast at the buffet because flew in late the night before and we were very […] hungry. It was the worst breakfast I ever had on vacation! And it cost us $75 dollars for two of us. Fruits were not fresh. Food was either too salty or flavorless. It tasted like it was leftover for days. You can get better breakfast at the Shiloh in and it's complimentry. The Chinese restaurant called Kirin which I think is a Japanese beer was gross. Not sure how you can charge an arm and leg for greasy flavorless Chinese food. Panda Express is gourmet compared to Kirin. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We stayed in the palace tower and it was truly beautiful. worth every penny. will definitely go back again. also, all the perks were definitely worth it, make sure to get your moneys worth, the Hilton absolutely provides.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best Hilton hotel"
This is one of the (if not the) Grand Jewels of the Hilton chain and it has all the amenities of a grand hotel. It's rooms are spacious and luxurious. The service is excellent. The hotel grounds are huge: its landscape is gorgeous and meticulously maintained, with beachs, lagoons and even a dolphin nursery. Another unique feature there is a train on […] monorail that transport customers thru out the grounds. If you visit the big island, you owe yourself a stay in this hotel. "One of the best hotels ever!"
Our family had a wonderful time at this slice of paradise! The tram and boat canal transportation were added fun surprises for the kids on top of swimming with dolphins and turtles. The art work is amazing and the staff were very friendly. The only complaint we had was the size of the beds in the double room (twin size or maybe full). Be prepared to […] pay the extra resort and parking fees, but well worth the extra costs. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was a nice place to stay and there was plenty to do and to relax. There was really know reason to leave the resort complex.. The only complaint that I have is that the food prices where a bit high.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great property. Waaay too expensive."
The hotel is like disneyland with a ton of fun activities to do. Great pools. Amazing views. However, none of the quality lives up to the price. They charge extra for parking, resort fee, equipment rentals and more. Just about every which way you turn there is another fee, so the price you book is far from what you will pay, even if you don't do anything […] at the resort. Then there is the food, which is overall below average, but still has prices like you are at 5 star world class establishments. I have been too many nice hotels on this scale and none have charged so much for such poor quality. Seriously some of the worst food quality of any hotel I have ever stayed at. Sweet resort, way overpriced. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Another wonderfu Thnxgiving at the Hilton Waikoloa"
This was our second Thanksgiving spent at the Hilton Waikoloa. The first stay we were lucky to get a rate were we stayed in the Ocean Tower with a room with an ocean view, this time we received a room that was located in the Ocean tower southeast wing where hundreds of birds tend to come and go in the court yard, but when they're there in the wee hours […] of the morning it is extremely awakening and there is nothing you can do about it. We purchased some ear plugs at the local market and made due for the rest of the trip. Our next stay we'll look to pay a little extra to get the ocean view again or at least away from the birds. If you don't have a choice at least get a room at the ends of the circle or 6 or 7th floors. floors 4 and 5 with mid numbered rooms are bird city. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Best Hotel Stay EVER for a Family Getaway"
If you're heading to Kona for a little R&R, you can't go wrong with this place. It has to be the BEST place to stay in Waikoloa, and the greater Kona area. It's about a good 20-25 minute drive north of the airport, but well worth it. The resort consists of 3 towers, spread out over 64 acres. This place is so large, that they have their own Disneyland-like […] monorail to shuttle guests around the property. They also offer a boat taxi to get you back and forth around the grounds. You can go swimming with the dolphins, or canoe on their man-made lagoon. There were at least two pools with slides for the entire family. Personally, I think the Lagoon Tower is the best one for families. If you're traveling w/o kids, the Ocean Tower will probably suit your fancy better. They even have their own rental car place on site, not to mention several eateries/restaurants and various clothing and gift shops. Do be prepared for the sticker shock though, because the paid amenities are quite hight even by Hawaii standards! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best hotel in waikoloa !!!!"
Stumbled onto this hotel by mistake and what luck !! Turns out this resort is the best I've ever seen. Beautiful architecture adorns the vast grounds and there is a tram and boat inside the hotel to take you from point to point as its huge. Swimming pool is great for the little ones as it has slides, can easily spend a full day in the resort doing nothing […] just walking around or lying in a cabana next to the beach!!!! Our first time trip to Hawaii was one of our best vacations. The Hotel was very relaxing and enjoyable. I loved the long walk through the corridors with lots of art. The beds where small for a 2 person bed. The view was good, the hotel pools and activities where fantastic. A great family vacation.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great Hotel for Families"
This was my first visit to the resort, and I was very pleased! The Lagoon Tower is definitely the nicest, specify Ocean View if that's what you want to be looking at! Room was very generously sized, along with the lanai. I would recommend this as a family vacation destination, and I would say that the majority of guests there fit that description.Genuine Expedia guest review
Enjoyed nearly every aspect of our stay from 11/17/2013 to 11/28/13. Lots of fun things to do and good food everywhere. Pools and lagoon provided many fun and sunny days of relaxation. Room was clean and staff friendly. Only downside would be the price of food if you were not expecting it. I researched and knew what to expect. Go to the Queen's marketplace […] to buy some food for your room and it will help save some cash. And it did get fairly crowded the week of Thanksgiving, but we were spoiled from being there the previous week when we almost had it all to ourselves. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"beautiful location but room componets did not work"
this place is beautiful but it is so large and a hassle to maneuver, it takes about 2 to 3 days just to figure it all out. rooms were clean and comfortable except we had sinks that did not work shower that parts fell off of , could not even make the tv and xbox work. called maintenance three times. and the hidden costs 25.00 resort fee 17.00 self parking […] fee this on top of your room fee. we were there one night it would take 2 to 3nights just to get the lay of the land. resort is huge a mini Disney land. the costs of the food and services are rediculus. most people went to local area stores and resturants because it was a bit more reasonable. "Nice Hotel If you want an unreal experience"
This hotel was beautiful, huge, and over the top. It was a great experience, but definitely not a good option if you want to get the real feel of the island, it is like visiting LA and seeing Disneyland and saying you saw all of LA. The food options were only OK, but overpriced, and the lagoon was awesome, but there is snorkeling ten times better all […] over the nearby area. "Great hotel, lots to do."
Great experience with an amazing hotel. Was a little surprised that we were charged $25.00 a day for internet and DVD rental, and $17.00 a day to park our car. I think that that price was a little excessive on top of the room charge. Other than that though, the place is really beautiful, and the staff is really helpful and nice. Unbelievable gardens, […] and fun pool slide. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
First of all the hotel is massive. We walked the grounds and it seemed to be miles of grounds and facilities. There is a monorail and boat service to take guests around. The hotel is situated 20 miles north of the Kona airport so if you want to travel into old town Kona that will be 40 miles back down south. The hotel has several eating establishments […] from American to Asian. The bars/grills have random hours so you cannot always get food where you are located i.e. the pool. There are serveral "extra" activities i.e. swimming with the dophins, kayaking for extra charge ($$$). Overall, the experience was very nice for a big resort, however we would not return as we prefer the old town environment. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Used expedia to book a room with the Hilton. I was given a total and when I checked in I was told about parking fees and a mandatory resort fee of 25 dollars. This was incase you wanted to rent a movie or play video games. I went back to our booking receipt and in small writing under the total given it said the hotel might charge a resort fee of 25 […] dollars and also you would have to pay for parking which was another 17 dollars for self parking. I spoke with the manger explained that we did not have any intention on playing video games or watching a movie. I did not fly 12 hours to Hawaii to play my first video game in over 15 years. The manager said he understood but could not waive any fees even if I did not wish to use the video games or DVDs. I told him I did not agree with paying a fee for something I did not use. I understand the fee was something they can charge because it was written (even tho it was very small and what I would consider a hidden fee.) but this was a reflection of the hotel in general . Everything was very expensive and the staff tried to sell you everything. There was over 1200 rooms and you had to walk 20 minutes to get to the lobby. It was so big that there was a train system on the grounds which barely ever ran and you waited a long time for that as well. This place was more of an amusement park than a hotel. If you were planning on staying at this hotel for your whole trip you should save yourself the headache and go to Florida. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Wanted to get away"
Everything about the Hilton Waikoloa is comforting and uncomfortable. By that I mean that there are so many appealing amenities, but you have to walk seemingly forever. "Great spot about ten years ago"
I traveled with my family which includes two children. They had a great time, as for me I wish the tram was on time at least half the trip. It was always three minutes away and to be honest it was faster just to walk the half mile to my room. "too big with not enough service"
We stayed in the Ocean Towers. The room stunk, like it hadn't been opened in years. Everything in it was old and dated. The elevator was not conveniently located. The trams were slow. The restaurants had very limited hours. I wouldn't pick this place ever again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Everything in the resort"
Awesome resort with plenty of activities to do. Due to the size of the resort be prepared to walk a lot or wait for the tram. Everything inside the resort is expensive maybe with the exception of snorkling gear rental.. Ocean tower with sea view has gorgeous views but room is a bit outdated and in a need of updating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Gigantic resort, tons of fees."
Stayed here the last night of our trip first off the place is gigantic, the buildings are spread fairly far apart, they have a tram service but expect to wait 20 minutes if your in one of the outer towers, obviously the goal is to keep you there where a bottle of water is $5 at their shop. Also expect a $25 daily resort fee and a $17 self parking fee. "Wonderful resort hotel"
I have stayed at this hotel several times over many years. It remains spectacular. It renders great experiences at the beach, walking the grounds, the ubiquitus art, and dining. The staff is always friendly and helpful. One personal hint: I avoid the rooms next to the atrium areas because the birds come to roost at dawn and make a lot of noise.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not a bad place to stay"
The Waikoloa Village is not a bad hotel to stay at. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It was nice to have a room with a balcony overlooking the ocean. And there a plenty of places to eat on the premises. And there's activities that everyone can enjoy from golfing to the Dolphin Quest to shopping.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Too Big for Comfort"
This hotel is divided into three towers accessed by a tram or a boat, with long arrival times between stops. After check-in it took a good 20 minutes for the tram to arrive. At night the lighting at the hotel halls are as dim as can be. It was uncomfortable navigating the unfamiliar halls in the dark.Genuine Expedia guest review
Well The Place was huge, and it was a pain to get around. they have a tram to take you from one end to the other but even then you still had to walk quite a bit and the tram takes about 16 min to make the trip end to end so if your in a hurry forget about it. lagoon tower was the best of the 3 towers i had to pay for an upgrade to the Lagoon tower because […] the ocean tower if on the other end of the resort and far away from well anything. all rooms in 2 of the 3 towers have an exterior entrance and the walkway to the rooms are all tile so when someone walks by with roller luggage it sounds like a train going by your room. and i should have done more research about air quality due to volcano activity the VOG really did a number on my lungs. so i decided to move to another island.
