It must be said that this hotel was the most inexpensive of all of our options in Winter Park. There is no excuse for the disrepair it has fallen into. Here are a handful of examples; 1) The ice machine on the first floor did not dispense, 2) The carpet was so tattered, I tripped over it, 3) There was no lightbulb in my bedside lamp, 4) The elevator […] button for floor 1 did not light up, 5) The parking garage and stairwells were filled with rotten construction materials, 6) One of the hot tubs was broken. Some notes on service, they would not allow a late check-out and the restaurant was closed for lunch. I have stayed in a number of cheap hotels in the mountains. Great view of the slopes. Shuttle ride to slopes only have to wait 20 minutes at most. Pool area could be updated and carpet in hallways DEFINITELY needs to be updated. Looks like it has been there since the 70s, but how much time do you spend in a hallway. Beds, sheets and blankets are all up to date the important part. Pretty good hotel with friendly staff. Clean, quiet room. Pool was not usable due to an amazingly high concentration of chlorine vapor in the room with no apparent ventilation. Pool was not heated and too cold to swim in. Hot tub was not clean. We found we didn't miss it. Shuttle was very convenient.

was clean and comfortable bed/ not very pleased with heating system : no thermostat , it is on or off....so if you leave it on.. in am would be to hot, if you turned off could be cold (I took my chance and let it off) :) . Staff very friendly and room clean.

Nice and comfortable. Breakfast was not included (which I thought it was), but great service. The pool was cold, but I think that's the way it should be, for an after bath at the hot tub. Great location and the bus stop is at the entrance of the hotel, so no need to walk with all the gear.

the hotel is dated and needs some maintenance like new carpeting in the halls, etc. TV's are dated and there was no microwave in the room as advertised. However, it was very convenient to the base of Winter Park and more than adequate for my families needs of a spontaneous overnight stay. Breakfast is overpriced!

I would never stay here again and shame on me for going through a website rather than asking local people. The rooms are old and smell of mildew. We booked here due to it's location. And the price was right. We requested a quiet, private room - and we were pleased to receive the room we did - far at the end of the hotel. The room was spacious and we even received a top floor vaulted room as requested. However, the bed was a not-so-comfortable murphy bed. The movie rental service was not working […] and the front desk. It sounded like they have had the complaint before, but there was no effort to do anything about it or accomodate us in any way for inconvenience. The doors to the rooms could be better sealed. The hotel is in need of some repair and upgrades. The toilet bowl was very cracked, my blanket was worn with a hole and the hall carpet needed to be streched. There were numerous little things like that all around the hotel. The pool and hot tub area was very nice, but they ran out of towels after our arrival. The sauna was broke. Booked from Expedia same day, when we arrived 40 minutes later they said they didn't have our information yet so we couldn't check in (she never even checked the computer)and they would call when they got it. I called half hour later, still nothing, and they told us to come in an hour unless we hear from them sooner. Never heard from them so we went […] in (now 1.75 hours after our initial arrival) to check in. They gave us a room (after telling us that we aren't guarunteed the room we booked on Expedia)..later on we stopped by to see if they had gotten our info yet and they said they had missed the initial fax and that when we came to check in the first time, our reservation must have "already been in the computer" so they must have missed it. We decided to stay at Mountain Lodge due to it's low price. Needless to say, you get what you pay for. I have stayed in many different hotels, so I'll try to give you a fair assessment/comparison. It lacks privacy due to very thin walls...you can hear every word of your neighbors conversations. Shower/bath tub did not drain very well and no way to control […] ventilation in the bathroom. Window did not open either. Carpets on the floor is noisy as you walk on them. It felt like it was made out of plastic bags. Ice machines did not work on neither 2nd or 3rd floor. I had to go to the 4th floor to get some ice. Old TV and most channels are not available. Beds were ok, but cheep mattress. Also, you can hear the cars going by and train will wake you up once or twice the night. But, there isn't anything that you can do about the trains. Ok, to be fair...they gave us a garage parking, which was nice. I would not expect that during the ski season. Again, the price was good compared to the surrounding hotels. I spent my birthday in Winter Park skiing with my daughter. We had stayed at your hotel before, but this time the front counter lady was very rude, unlike the rest of the staff. the ski shop did a minor repair to one of boots and that was great but if I could avoid having to talk to the afternoon or evening staff I would be better off.

The Mountain Lodge staff was friendly and helpful. Transportation to the ski hill was incredibly convenient and quick. Our only complaints would be the small bathroom and limited & expensive menu in the restaurant. However, those details will not prevent us from picking the Mountain Lodge for our next trip to Winter Park.

I've stayed here several times over a few years. The personnel are very good & accommodating. The rooms are quite large & nice. It is not a luxurious place, but very nice, clean, comfortable & handy to the ski area with a shuttle bus. one needs to realize that snow creates slush on floors & ski boots wear things.
