"Fire house to the rescue"
I love the feel of the Kendall, which is a renovated fire house. When we had a medical emergency while staying there, the staff were so helpful and got us o a great hospital for care.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect Boston Location"
My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Kendall Hotel in as part of our honeymoon. The hotel was clean, beautiful, and filled with character. The staff was courteous and accommodating. The hotel is approximately 100 yards from the Red Line Terminal Station. This made it very easy to catch the subway train in to Boston and the surrounding areas. We started […] each day with their complimentary breakfast (which was great.) At the end of the day, we were able to head back to the quiet, comfortable, hotel in Cambridge. It was the perfect combination of easy access to the city and being away from the downtown "hustle and bustle." If we ever go back to Boston, we will definitely try to stay at the Kendall Hotel again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"What a nice surprise!"
We stayed at the Kendall Hotel this past weekend. From the moment we pulled up to the building, we were impressed. It's in a nice area, surrounded by MIT. The T is a few steps away - 2 stops to Harvard, 2 stops to Boston..very convenient! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel decor is very charming and welcoming - in the lobby, in the […] hallways, in our room...even the stairwell (we stayed on the second floor so we used it a lot) has fun art. We booked a Queen room, but got a King, so that was a nice surprise. The room (203) was spacious and clean. It felt like a guest bedroom in someone's home, rather than a hotel room. The water pressure in shower was fine (I know this matters to some travelers). The only complaint about the place is that our room was not as cold as we would have liked it and that the lobby and hallways smelled like cleaners (chemicals). I took the slight odor as a sign that they clean often. We had the AC on max, but our room never got very cold. I should mention that it was in the 90's outside, so maybe the AC was struggling throughout the building that weekend. Overall, especially considering for the price we paid, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and service at the Kendall. We will definitely stay here again! Hotel was very quaint with all the fire station decorarions. Very clean. The staff was friwndly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
The large chain hotels do a good job, but can never get close to the Kendall's one of kind neighborhood feel. We came to see Boston and felt like we were part of the local crowd staying at the Kendall.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Loved the special nostalgic decor! Our room was comfortable and spacious. The hotel staff was very efficient and at the same friendly and accomadating. We'll be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Anniversary Celebration and 4th of July!"
When we arrived at the Kendall Hotel we were greeted by a warm and friendly staff. We parked our car in their garage for an additional $25.00 per night (wish we could work this into the low rate we received...but parking is at a premium in Cambridge). Our room was quaint, very clean and extremely comfortable. We were very happy with the location of […] the hotel as we made our way into Boston on our own 10 mile walking tour. We ate dinner at The Black Sheep restaurant which was quite enjoyable. We plan on staying at this hotel again in the near future. A 10+ for us!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A hotel with great character"
Close to the T, MIT, and Charles River. Seven story brick firehouse converted into hotel. Charming and clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I loved staying here. Everything was clean, had all the latest amenities while still being a historic building. They had complimentary breakfast buffet with pancakes, eggs, bacon, oatmeal, cereal, toast, homemade jam, VERY good scones.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Of our 18 day trip through Boston, Rhode Island, and New York, this was a favorite hotel. It has a nice atmosphere, with plenty of antiques and Early American artifacts in every space. The free breakast was awesome, don't miss it! Our room was one of the original 8 firehouse rooms, and looked out on the main street. Beautiful decorated in red, white, […] and blue. Would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"adequate but not stellar"
The queen room was very small and cramped. The king room was much larger and more comfortable. Very few staff around. On our last day the maid knocked on our door at 11:12 and asked of we were leaving yet... I realize check out is 11 but they really enforce that here. The experience was adequate but not stellar.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Everything was great until the very end."
The Hotel is homey but modern. Great, clean room. We were given a coupon for 20% off our dinner in the hotel restaurant. I forgot to use it. I asked for the credit the next morning while checking out and was refused. Would have stayed again but now would not return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is the most convenient hotel to MIT. Breakfast was very good. The room was small but acceptable. Most of the staff was very pleasant , but the front desk could have been more helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for family"
very close to subway station ( 30 meters away ). quite and safe place. The person in the front desk is very nice. Room is good, clean and comfortable. The only thing I am not satisfied is the chair. It is really old.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Sick away from home; Kendall took great care of me"
It was amazing. I checked in around 9:30pm, sick as a dog, and in desparate need of tea. The restaurant was closed but the night manager made me tea anyway. A couple hours later, when I needed OJ and ginger ale, the housekeeping staff helped me out. The next day, the free breakfast was amazing - eggs, banana bread, oatmeal - just what I needed for a […] good head start. I really can't say enough nice things about this place! Don't forget to check out the adorable 7th floor sunroom! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Internet connection in such a high tech zone"
I like the hotel a lot with all "Bostonian" like stuffs. But as right next to MIT, the world famous high tech cradle, the Internet connection of the hotel is such a squeeze. It did not work on cable and the wireless signal was on and off, which makes the online meeting impossible. They got it fixed the next day after I complained - at least the customer […] service is pretty good. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good value and location"
Nice location, lovely character, ok staff and food.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice, clean, small hotel located within a 5-minute walk from the Kendall/MIT subway station. Reasonable cost with breakfast included. The hotel is located in a safe area. Ideal if you are visiting MIT. It is two subway stations away from Harvard Square. Legal Seafood is located just across the road from the hotel, but there isn't very much going on […] in the neighborhood. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We were delighted by the convenient location (across from the T), ease of parking in their garage, friendliness of the staff, lovely room and bountiful breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable, Convenient, worth it!!"
My husband stayed here last summer and loved it. So, when we were looking for a place to stay that would be close to our daughter's apartment in Somerville, but also close to the city, I looked for hotels in the Cambridge area. Even though it cost a little more than other hotels, my husband insisted we book the Kendall. The Red Line T-station is right […] down the block, so getting around is easy! The accomadations are excellent! Rooms have plenty of space and beds are really comfortable; Big fluffy bath towels and robes! The service was friendly, yet very professional. The breakfast buffet is out of this world!! - Eggs, bacon, pancakes or french toast........fresh pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal.....coffee and juice. We arrived very early in the morning and they, very graciously, put our luggage in storage room and offered us breakfast. Will definitely come back to the Kendall! Location was great but GPS took around the block a few times. Breakfast was wonderful. Staff very helpful. Clean and quiet room. 7th floor sunroom was wonderful to relax in. Try for room on top floor if possible.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a great find! Even though we arrived several hours before check-in, we were able to park our car in the garage as we did not want to drive to our destination. Loved the charm and ambience of the hotel. I thought I was staying at a small bread and breakfast. "Cool spot in Cambridge with a tasty breakfast"
overall, we enjoyed it very much. The staff were VERY friendly and helpful and the breakfast each morning was convenient and tasty. The location is excellent, mere feet from the Red Line! I would highly recommend the Kendall Hotel to anyone. The rooms were great, staff friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was wonderful. Great location, lots of things within walking distance and right next to a red line T station.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Felt at home"
This was an excellent hotel, very homelike and comfortable. The room, which was in the older building (there is a new tower in the back) was oddly shaped but very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. T entrance one block away, easy access to the city center and Harvard Square. Free breakfast and wi fi. Indoor parking, $25 per night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Like being at home!"
Very comfortable hotel with lots of homey touches. I loved the fact that it is a converted fire station, and the decorations were perfect additions to the overall atmosphere. There is also a lovely solarium on the 7th floor, which we did not get a chance to use. A hot breakfast was included and was both diverse and delicious. The hotel was less than […] a block to the T, which was important to us as we traveled into and around Boston quite a bit. My in-laws were with us, so we wanted to limit our walking as much as possible. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. "Great Nostalgic Place to stay!"
What a nice hotel. The look of the outside is quite deceiving from the inside. It looks like a very small factory building. but the inside is beautifully decorated with a cape cod eclectic feel. Had trouble getting internet service in our room. Maybe we were too far away?Genuine Expedia guest review
I lived in cambridge a while back and was always intrigued by this hotel while walking to work. It was really, really nice. Each room is unique, ours was blue themed, cozy, eclectic new england. Breakfast was great too. My wife wasn't sure at first but loved all the themed history. Great hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for visiting Boston"
My wife and I stayed here for the first time and loved our room. It is more like a home than a hotel room, not at all institutional. It has a B&B feel to it. Wonderful, convenient location near the T, but much quieter than a downtown hotel. We'll definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Business center was helpful, internet, breakfast, and in-room complimentary treats were great. If I have any complaint at all, it would be that there was no closet in the room, but there were plenty of hooks and hangers provided, and I understand that this is part of being in an historic building, which is otherwise charming.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely and unique"

"Kendall Square a central location."
The Kendall was in the heart of the "shelter in place" order during marathon bombers infamous run from police starting at MIT. The staff handled this event extremely well for the guests and the quality of food at the Black Sheep restaurant in the hotel remained high. Who could have predicted this kind of strain on the accommodations?Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Needs a human touch"
Location is excellent Decoration and setting is very good. Staff needs to learn to smile I dealt with three of the them in 2 days and none of them ever smiled at me :( Need to be more accommodating. I came in early and was refused early check-in. Came back at 12:30 and the room was not ready yet. I asked for a late check out and I was given 12:30 after […] a lot of insistence on my part. I was told any delay is $75 charge. Again, the staff was mechanical and process oriented. Tv screen is small relative to room. The room was spacious and a bit pricy.
