One of the girls @ check-in was VERY rude, I wish I would've caught her name. She should be in housekeeping not dealing w/the public. We have stayed @ this motel @ a dozen times, and each times there is something negative, between the staff or slide being down for some sort of maintenance, doubt we will be going back. We stayed Saturday, March 9th.

We had an overall pleasant stay however some of the pool areas were not working and were roped off. Some of the overhead air ducts were also disconnected and hanging down and made the pool area less attractive.

I've stayed here before, so it was easy to choose this hotel again! We like that it has a water slide and it has a wonderful breakfast selection. We generally get the family suite, which has a kitchenette and a closet. This way, we can bring food in and then microwave it. Overall, this is a great place to stay when seeing my family in my hometown!

Had a nice indoor waterslide and little tykes play area. The only drawback was that the lifeguard had to be there for the slide to be open and he wasn't always there at the best times.

Overall the hotel was fine, but there were a couple of issues. First and foremost, the toilet was horrible! It may sound funny, but let's face it, the stool is a crucial part of any place you may stay. The seat didn't fit the toilet and it was VERY low, and this was a handicapped room. Uncomfortable! @ the time of check-in we were told the waterslide was broken, no discount given, this was the main reason we booked w/Holiday Inn since we had children, wish we were told prior to our stay. Booked and pre-paid w/hotels.com, checked my credit card when I got home and have been charged TWICE!! When we went down for continental breakfast @ around 8:30 […] in the morning, there was no coffee left. Lifeguard on duty was absolutely hopeless, seen a lil girl almost drawn, which the parents should've been paying more attention, but the lifeguard was 3 feet away and did nothing!! Put the sign on our door for the maids to clean mid morning, around 4:30, after we contacted the front desk, someone finally came up, when she left we went into our room, beds were made but the garbage cans we still full, no new towels, talked to the maid and she stated they were out of towels???? Great place to stay for the whole family. Great indoor waterpark and excercise room. Spent hours in the beautiful Terry Redlin Museum. The Stone Grainery next door has great food! The continental breakfast at the HIE could be better. The overall morning atmosphere in the hotel was very comfortable.

Our family has stayed at the Holiday Inn and Suites twice now and enjoyed both stays. The breakfast is wonderful and a great way to start the day. The only negative feedback I would have is the sound of the generators from the semi trucks that park near the back of the hotel. We had a second floor room this last stay near the entrance of the hotel and the generators were not heard at all. We booked this last visit through Expedia which was used by us for the first time. From the first phone call, the e-mail confirmations/itinerary, to check-in, the experiance with Expedia was great too. I would recommend Expedia to others too. The earlier you book the cheaper the rates were. The customer service representative that I spoke to when I was reserving the room was very helpful, explained the process and everything I needed to know about the reservation. When we got to the hotel to check-in, I gave the hotel staff the reservation sheet from Expedia that I had printed off and there were no questions at all. We were checked in in a matter of minutes. Watertown itself is a town full of places to shop, eat, and keep busy. I would recommend the Holiday Inn Express and will be booking another stay in the future. :-) Read more

Staff was very nice. Indoor waterpark was well staffed and a lot of fun for the kids. The hotel is pet-friendly (for a very small fee), and we were put in a room close to a back exit, which offered a large (mowed) area for our pooch to run and do his business in. When you call the 800 number to reserve your room you don't get that location. I got a person that didn't speak very well english. Also I asked for a adjoining room. I was told I had one. When I got to the hotel, there is no adjoining rooms!! Bummer!!

I took both of my daughters and two of their friends to the hotel for an overnight. There are many other things to do with kids in Watertown. We took advantage of one local business and returned to take advantage of the pool. The waterslide was the big attraction. My younger daughter was unable to go down the waterslide because she was under 48 inches […] and by rules I was unable to go down with her. The smaller slide and activities were nearly too small for my younger daughter and the separate swimming pool was nearly too deep for her. The other girls were able to use all areas of the pool area. If you have a younger child (about 4-6) be prepared to have a disappointed child as they will likely be too large for the smaller slide and activities but too small for the large slide. Also, be prepared to get in the separate pool with this child to keep them entertained while you are there. There were lifeguards on duty when the waterslide was open but they only watched the waterslide pool, not the kiddie play area, the hot tub or the separate swimming pool. Read more

When we arrived, the front desk clerk took my card and swiped it. I assumed for any incidentals we'd incur during our stay. When I returned home, it turned out that she had charged us for the room, despite acknowleding that we had pre-paid for the room through Hotels.com. Other than this inconvenience, everything was great!

This was the best hotel experience of my life! I've been to Chicago, Killeen, TX and Las Vegas and never have I had the comfort and luxury that I had while staying at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites in my hometown of Watertown, SD! I highly recommend a stay there if ever your travel plans bring you to this location!
