My first experience at a two-star Paris hotel, so maybe I had unreasonable expectations. The room was just barely larger than the bed, in fact I'm not sure how they got it in there. There was room to stand in the shower and in front of the sink. It did provide all that they advertised, in just useable form, and the few people I encountered at the desk […] were friendly and helpful. Location convenient for walking to most attractions or getting to the Metro, but the neighborhood was a bit seedy. Definitely a step above camping, but I would hate to see what a one-star looks like. Old building that needs some TLC. Beds HARD with small pillows, showers can be heard through the walls (as if they are showering in your room). Neighborhood within a few blocks is nice with lots of eating options, but surrounding area is kind of sketchy. From what we saw of breakfast, not worth the cost.

The hotel might be old, but I think it adds flavor to your stay in Paris. The rooms are a little small, but that is normal for the area. Everything was clean and I had no issues to report. The staff at the hotel were always nice and friendly. The hotel is within walking distance to many great restaurants and bars. I highly recommend this hotel.

The staff was friendly, helpful, and spoke English. My room was small, but definitely fine for the single traveler. It wasn't super close to any sites, but it was n near several metro stations. Petite dejeuner was probably too expensive. There is a patisserie about 3 doors down and lots of restaurants about ablock away in Republique.

Myself and two friends needed a place to stay one night in Paris before our flight back to Chicago. We reserved a room on hotels.com for three people, it was supposed to have a full size and a twin bed. However, when we arrived they told us that there were no triple rooms available and we have to use a double room with a rollaway bed. This is a well maintained hotel conveniently located near Place de Republic. This is a convenient location, a half hour walk to the Louvre, the Opera or Notre Dame. This hotel is right outside of the metro which makes it very easy to see the city. Also, the hotel staff was very helpful all throughout our trip. hey booked taxis for us and also helped us with wi-fi problems we experienced the first day. The wi-fi worked great and I felt very safe in the hotel. I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is in your typical old Parisian 1920s building with the small stairs and narrow dark corridors. It is a budget hotel visited by families with children, school field trips and travellers on a budget and the trimmings are in an according condition. The hotel was clean, no matter what others may have said before. The maids did their best. The […] furnitire is just so worn and has been wiped down so many times it looks discoloured and dirty even when it is really clean. The showers and all taps where somewhat clogged with lime scale but worked fine for us. We had a small room at the end of a corridor overlooking the inner court yard. I had the window open all night which kept the room at a pleasent temperature in May. We were never disturbed by any noise during the night from outside. The walls are thin in this old building and the ceilings might be high, but are not soundproof either. You may well hear your neighbours, if they get a little noisy on their romatic trip, but then they might hear you, too. Over all I'd stay here again in a heart beat. One minute walk from the Jacques Bonsergent stop on Metro line 5 and 5 minutes walk from the Chateau d'Eau Metro stop on line 4. Even Gare de l'Est was less than 10 minutes walk with luggage. From here you can get to anywhere in Paris very easily by train and walking down to the River and the sights is easily done in 25 to 35 minutes through some pleasent side streets. Bonne Journee! I stayed at this hotel as a woman traveller on her own for 8 nights, and would definitely stay here again. The room was comfortable and clean with a decent-sized bathroom. The room itself was a little compact and the walls were a bit thin, but no more so than any other hotel of this class that I've stayed in - it certainly didn't stop me from sleeping. […] Equally, the street outside could sometimes be a bit noisy but it never went on very late. Exactly what you would expect for a 2 star hotel: Good basic accommodation, nothing more and nothing less. a bed, TV, internet, shower, all working and clean. The location is superb in walking distance to Marais and Canal St Martin Good value for money.

Hotel was clean, which seems to be an issue for Paris in general.. Room was showing signs of tiredness, but this just added to the "rustic" feel of the Hotel.. Sheets and towels were changed daily. The hotel is pretty basic but it's clean and such a bargain price for central Paris, i expected so much worse! It's a 5 minute walk from Jacques Bonsergent and Republic, loads of shops and restaurants nearby. All of the rooms are ensuit and have sachets of shampoo and body wash aswell as hand soap. The bathroom consists of a sink, toilet and shower […] (no bath) and it also has a hairdryer. Bedding was clean and room was made up daily, TV was in working order with a remote and wifi connection but there was no kettle or tea/coffee in the room. Luckily the staff members are very friendly and gave us a kettle, cups and tea to take up to our room. All staff can speak basic english, make sure you learn to say "Parlez vous anglais?" (can you speak english) because everyone is a lot more helpful if you do! No real bad points about the hotel except maybe that if you leave your window open, the street can get quite noisy. HOTEL We arrived in Paris at the hotel around 09:00 in the morning and were told that the room would not be ready until 14:30, but luckily we were allowed to leave our luggage with reception until the room was ready. ROOM All in all the hotel room was fine, small but enough room for the two of us. The room was clean and further cleaned everyday by room service. The bed was fine and an extra blanket was provided in the wardrobe for cold nights, the bath room was small but all appliances worked well, I would say the shower curtain probably needs a change. There was a working TV with a verity of channels and we had a nice balcony but not exactly the best view. ALSO I must add that the walls are paper thin, you can hear everything!!! STAFF Friendly helpful staff including the lovely room service ladies, bless them. The morning man at reception was very friendly he gave us a map of Paris and marked all the must see locations. Additionally the night reception man was also very friendly providing us with clear instructions on how to reach the Paris night club we were heading to. Extremt hårda sängar, icke prisvärd frukost (8e för lite bröd, marmelad och juice), halvacceptabel städning. Mycket lågt pris; man får det man betalar för. Trevlig betjäning, mycket hjälpsam, i lobbyn. Mycket bra läge några minuter från M:Republic. Enkelt och trots allt prisvärt hotell för en lite längre week-end.

Enkelt hotell väldigt nära Metro Republique och flera andra Metro stationer, tex Jaques Bonsergent endast 2 stationer fr Gare du Nord där RER B ankommer/avgår från flygplatsen Charles du Gualle. Hotellet i sig duger om du i stort sett bara ska sova där, ingen romantik alls. Väldigt slitet, läskig liten hiss, lövtunna väggar, extrem lyhördhet och enkelt, […] dock rent. Skippa frukosten för 8EUR finns bättre på stan. Egen dusch/toa på rummet. Jag bodde med en 13åring och vi skrattade mest åt allt "olyxigt", och vi prioriterade gångavståndet ner till city och bra Metro hub. Extra: 1) bara något kvarter bort mot Metro "Chateau d'eau" finns det Afro/Asian kvarter med billig manikyr/pedikyr/lösnaglar mm 2) Metro Reamur Sebastolpol finns bra sushi. Read more
