An older hotel without comfortable chairs in the room but with easy self-parking lot. Like much of Waikiki there is a fair amount of street noise in the evening and morning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to shopping"
Customer service was great!! All were very helpful, and even gave us a complimentary room upgrade (I think because the original room we booked was still being cleaned) thank you again Sean, for doing that!!! The room is a little outdated, beds didn't have nice sheets you can visually see the mattresses were dirty from previous guests, AC box kept the […] room cool but the air was blowing on our heads while we slept at night because of its location against the wall. Other than that, the room was clean. Came with a fridge and microwave which was very useful! Located about a mile away from Waikiki beach so we just drove. Walking distance to all the shopping and some Japanese restaurants. I wouldn't mind staying here again because of its reasonable price. I just wish the room looked more updated. It's an OK place to stay. Close to public transport and good runningtrack. Walking distance to the beach, conference centre, shops. Friendly staff. Good coffeeshop right in front of the entrance. Internet!! Laundromat. Too cold aircon.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"An excellent value"
All of the staff members were very helpful and were able to assist us with our questions pertaining to dinning, transportation and shopping. "My final dream"
My wife and I decided to make one more trip to Hawaii. I'm 90 and she is 84. For years we would come here but since we have gotten older it has become to long a trip. The hotel was very nice to us and very accommodating. As a WWII vet, I am still moved by the Arizona Memorial and met fellow Vets all the same age as me. Very moving. "The best customer service and great location"
Such great staff at front desk. I'd name them but I won't for their privacy. They were amazing at accommodating any of our requests in the hotel and questions about the area. The loveliest lady at the concierge... She was beyond exceptional with her customer service and insight of Hawaii and booking us into tours last minute. It isn't a flash hotel […] but it's absolutely worth what you pay with the location, the service and FULL kitchen with fridge.... It made our stay in Hawaii so comfortable. Never again with your hotels. Your room was facing a concrete wall of the building next. So price is secondary. Room u provide is horrible. "Not a Major resort but comfortable."
This place is convenient for us. I like the amount of space we had. It is an older place. I am used to nicer places but after a day I was really happy I was there. The staff was very nice and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is ok, comfortable but not like a W hotel or 4-5 star hotel, However the location of this hotel is amazing, you can walk to the beach, shopping areas, bars and restaurants plus NO RESORTS FEE, they have parking it cost $20/day well every hotel cost the same anyways! "Decent hotel.. A little further from the beach"
I had a pretty great experience with hotel staff yet I really thought the facility could be updated. .Genuine Expedia guest review
The door needed to be slammed to ensure that it was closed. Imagine how annoying if every hotel guest has to do this each time? There were no wifi available in the rooms. Guests needed to go to the lobby and change a pass code every day. That was also annoying. Most annoying fact is I had to pay extra - $60 each day to upgrade my studio hotel room […] into a full functioning kitchen. What Expedia offered was a "basic" kitchen studio. "In need of a remodel"
One of the cheaper options in the area, but you get what you pay for. Though the room was clean, this hotel is very old and the rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade. The comforters on the bed were discolored from age. I only stayed here because there were few available options during my time in Waikiki, but I would avoid it if you can.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Get what you pay for i guess"
I travel 100 daya/year dor work, globally. Room definitely needs remodeled, especially kitchen and bathroom. No space to put personal items in bathroom. Tile in shower was scary, i wore flip flops to shower. Carpets are way past due replacement. Window air conditioner made noise all night. TV way too small for distance from bed. Furniture all old, […] I felt like I was visiting a grandparent's house. All handles on doors and cabinets felt greasy/dirty. Service personnel very friendly and helpful tho, seemed to be trying to make up for hotel's shortcomings. Felt watched by residents/neighbors on balcony across street. Kept curtains closed as a result. Bed was 60% comfortable. While looking for signs of bedbugs (found nome) I noticed an old looking mattress, and not bagged. For the area the price is right on, but I felt a bit misled by the suite photos upon check in. Probably not worthy of the "Waikiki" name in it's name, folks expect more for a hotel labeled Waikiki. We were on the seventh floor...it was a beautiful view of the city lit up for Christmas. The staff was amazingly helpful. The set up of the room was great with the wrap around room/bathroom. The wrap around deck was nice....I loved how there was a pull out couch in the living room and the room could be closed of so it was like having out own bedroom […] while the kids had their space :) only thing I could recommend is a coffee pot in the room side I'm a coffee lover...but they did have a coffee shop right at the entrance so can't complain about that :) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I chose this hotel because it was less expensive compared to some of the others and it seemed nice from the pictures. This is pretty much a Motel with a couple of tall buildings that are old and the age shows. The swimming pool is nice, but there are no guest towels and so I guess you're expected to bring your own from your room (if you haven't already […] them and put them on the hotel floor). There is no Wifi in the hotel (other than the lobby) and so when you walk in the lobby, it is full of people on their wireless devices. They do have wired Ethernet into the rooms, but I only brought a smart phone and a tablet, so this wasn't very helpful. If I'm in Waikiki again, I will pay an extra $30 per night and stay in something much nicer (like I have in the past). Many times, people will say that you get what you pay for, but I paid a lot for this hotel and I expected a lot more for the price (even staying in Waikiki). "Basic but very satisfying"
Our stay at the Ambassador was very pleasant. It was not a four star hotel, but it was clean and quiet. The housekeeping staff was excellent. Everything about the hotel was so drab. There was nothing pretty about it. Jeffrey, at the front desk, was very nice and upgraded our room to a "suite".That meant we had a kitchen, which was very convenient. The view was very nice from our high floor, but the room was so dull and the outside walkway as well. The shower floor should be replaced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel is in a convenient location in Waikiki, close to public transport and not that far from the beach. Our room was fine, with fridge, microwave, some crockery, but the bathroom needs some attention, there was rust showing at the edges and the fan (which could not be turned off) was extremely noisy plus it had a penetrating whistle (which could […] only be overcome by having the balcony door ajar) and it was blowing a gale in the bathroom! My wife and I liked the hotel. The staff was courteous and helpful on every interaction. The room was fine. We had a kitchen that helped us manage our expenses with eating. There were several nearby small stores to purchase cereal, oat meal, carrot cake, milk, orange juice, and sandwiches. The beds were okay but not quit as firm as I would like. The […] TV, water, air conditioning, and shower work fine. The air conditioning was a window unit in the outer wall. I worked fine but was slightly loud. However, we did not need the air conditioning all the time. We were on the 18 floor and the balcony and the outside walkway had 3.5 foot high walls that I preferred to railings. The hotel was conveniently located about 3 to 4 block off the beach. The pricing was better that the beach hotels. "VERY VERY DIS-SATISFIED AND DISAPPOINTED!"
At the time of payment for this hotel, several months in advanced, I paid for (3) people in the room. When we arrived at the hotel they said I hadn't stated that their were 3 people and I had to pay an extra $500.00 for the third person !!! I was very angry. Then when we got to our room it looked like the door had previously been pried open or broken […] into, as it had a VERY sharp metal piece portruding from the door, like it had been pried away? All 3 of us at one time or another cut ourselves on that door. When we opened the door it looked like we were staying in a hotel at a 3rd world country. No microwave, and it states all rooms have microwaves, no dish soap or sponge. the floor and shower were atrocious ! the beds were lumpy and VERY uncomfortable. there was no furnishings on the balcony, and when we hung our towels on the railing to dry we received a rude phone call from the desk telling us to remove our towels at once ! Needless to say the Ambassdor Hotel was worthless and very rude, except for our maid Jezebel, she was awesome. Also the internet states free wyifi in the rooms, this is not free or even available !! They totally lie on the internet about their hotel, and should get in trouble for misleading people ! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Walking distance yet still away from the hoopla!"
When we first pulled up I almost wanted to keep driving! Mostly because it didn't look like an inviting hotel, more like a business inn/dorm for Japanese exchange students/tourists! But the location was great as it was still walking distance from most of Waikiki, although after awhile I didn't think sandals was a good idea. Everyone else had sneakers […] on so I guess I wasn't in the know! Anyway, the lady at the front desk was nice and upgraded us to a room with a kitchenette. It had a full sized fridge, microwave, glasses, mugs, pots, pans, utensils. No dish soap or sponge so the maids do all of that for you! Full sized closet with iron and board but the shower was a tiled stand up single shower. I was so afraid of slimy tile but in actuality it was very clean! My only itch was this strange guy at the front desk that likes to give you the creeper eyes and he switches up his voice when he answers the phone. He was straight up a weirdo! The building looked dated and old.. but then again most of Waikiki is that way. The important thing though was that it was very clean, no bugs, very straight forward, and the staff and elevators were prompt. They do the best with what they've got and I recommend this hotel for unpretentious travelers on a budget... or just those that would rather spend their money on more important things like food, SUP boarding with sea turtles, or other fun interesting things to do while on the island! You're never really in the room anyway right? Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
