Bolger Hotel & Conference Center - Potomac 39.02231, -77.18264

The hotel was in a great area and conveniently located to my appointment in Rockville, MD. It's a convention hotel that's more like it's own self contained area than a hotel. For the price of the room, it's a great value. It was clean and comfortable. It's not fancy, and the some of the fixtures are older. It was in a great location that was about 10 minutes off the beaten path, and it was a great value. I'll defintely stay there again.

Loved this hotel! Only thing is it is a little off the beaten path. I would stay here again.

I was pleasantly surprised by the room. I chose the DLX / Queen room - it turned out to be a suite with an "office" and seperate bedroom. Very clean room, comfortable bed. The area doesn't have a lot of businesses, but it's a quick drive (1.5 mi) to grocery stores, coffee shops, Montgomery Mall, etc). I'll definitely return to the Bolger when I have business in the area.

Although this is a conference facility, I was able to book a room here - and was very happy to do so because it was so close to my meeting place. I wasn't a conference attendee but that didn't faze the hotel staff. They were very friendly and courteous. There was a gym and the trails around the center were well-kept. This was better than a normal hotel because I felt safe walking around the grounds and being able to exercise outside.

I have stayed in many hotels at different grades. I have never seen a room this small before. I could not believe for the price I paid I got a room that left enough space only to walk around the bed. There was nothing to do at the hotel. We've walked around the large building and only found conference rooms.

I had a decent stay at this hotel, I only have 2 criticisms: 1. The geography and design of the comple is confusing, and not marked clearly with signs. I went into 2 buildings before finding the right place to check in. 2. The concierge sent me to a room (in a building far away) that was alrady being stayed in, so I had to go back and re check in. No big deal, but the whole check in process lasted 40 minutes that I needed for work.

This is actually more of a conference center than a hotel, but we loved it!! Our family and one other couple were the only people we saw who weren't there for a conference. It's in a complex, of sorts, away from everything, with beautifully landscaped grounds. The pool and shower rooms were clean and warm, and the food in the dining room was great. The downside was that we had booked a suite; but when we got there, there were no suites left. They put us in 2 side-by-side "deluxe" rooms, which are a queen-sized bed with a bath. We ended up allowing our kids, aged 4 and 6, to stay in a room alone together. We had to train the elder to use the room phone to call us, and the younger to use my cell phone in their room to call my husband's cell in the other room. If it was most other hotels I had stayed at, I wouldn't have considered it. They did just fine; but my night's sleep was less than peaceful, since I was up regularly checking on them. The rooms were nice, immaculately clean, as were the bathrooms. The beds were a little hard, but the linens were nice, with down-alternative duvets. They provided plenty of towels. They also gave us tickets for free breakfast in the dining room for the inconvenience of not having our suite. There is also a bar in one of the buildings, in addition to the dining room in the main building.

This is a conference center and mostly caters to groups. They evidently make empty rooms available to others who need a hotel, but it was clear to me at check-in that I was an anomoly. There was one peron at the checkin counter at 8pm and about 8 people in line. Service was slow and terrible. It took me 35 minutes before I finally had my key and was checked in.

Shuttle to the metro and shopping mall worked nicely. Location was about 5 miles from the NIH. Placed in a great neighborhood, just watch out for deer on the property when driving in at night. You can't beat this place for the price.

This training center is located unusually close to Montgomery Mall. I lived in the area for years and did not know it was there. Except for the check-in being in an unusual location near the rear of the campus, everything else was great, especially for the money.

Overall nice. If we could get better transportation for smaller groups with regular shuttles to and from the metro in the am.all times call in service. Make it easier to and from "METRO". Dinner was not as great as last year stay(s). small choice, fried steak ouch ! good desserts. bar and pool table area excellent. Staff ok nice, grounds very nice,gardens walks etc big plus. Pool ok.

lovely landscaping and all the amenities I needed, quiet, clean, lots of parking and close enough to the conference center I was attending to make things very easy

I thought the room was a little on the small side. It reminded me of a dorm room. For two people in the room, it was tight. Other than that, the Bolger Center was a great place to stay. It was not to far outside of Washington and convenient to the train station via the shuttle service the hotel provided. The staff was very polite and professional.

The hotel was conveniently located just outside of Washington, D.C. The price was just right and the employees were pleasant and accommodating. It was an enjoyable stay for my family and me.

This hotel needs renovations. The hotel rooms offer full size beds. The rooms have been described as being the size of dorm rooms. However, having lived in a college dorm, the hotels rooms are a lot smaller than dorm rooms. Also the bathrooms are tiny. There is barely enough room to walk in and close the door. Additionally, the tubs are outdated. The hotel parking was terrible. You had to park in one lot and walk from the parking lot across a bridge to get to your room. The closest metro is approximately 2 miles away. The hotel does, however, offer an excellent breakfast buffet. The front desk staff was very professional.

I found hotel inconvenient for leisure travel due to the shuttle to and from the Metro. The room rate was okay but the hotel is very hold and the room was extremely small with old mattress. I was unable to get thermostat in the room to work. It was to warm for my taste. Ensure you eat prior to your arrive or you are forced to eat an expensive dinner (buffet $27) or bar food. The web made it look like a new hotel which it is note. It appears to be a conference center for the United States Postal Service and resembles a small college dormitory campus.

Very convenient to were I was working for the week. Quiet location with a pastoral environment. Bolger is a US Postal Service Leadership Center and is used evidently for training. I got the small room and it was that. Very comfortable and clean. Good parking and on-site meal options. Staff very professional. Will use this anytime I'm in the Bethesda area.

I found the Bolger on Hotel.com and took a chance on it because the alternative hotels near by were waaay out of our travel budget. The cozy room was actually huge and well appointed if not luxurious with both a sitting room and bedroom, two televisions, decent hair and skin products/ towels and baisic amenities. The grounds are lovely and the walking trail provides a relaxing alternative to the gym. The location was not entirely conveniant- and the on site restaurant set up is umm, quirky. However I was sufficiently pleased over all to recomend the hotel to the local management team of our company as a good alternative for travelers on a budget.

The room was small but there was free internet and everything was clean and working. The staff was extra friendly and helpful. There was a walking trail that if i had had more time I would have walked. Overall I was very satisfied with the hotel.
