Having stayed at the Landis Hotel in Taipei, I expected Icon to offer the same service quality or better. After checking in, no one bothered to show us to our room and introduce us to the facilites available. I booked a harbor view room for an increased price. Sure there was a view of the harbor, if you looked to the left side. Directly outside my window was the rooftop of the mall. The concierge was helpful. I had one meal at the lobby cafe. My mom ordered a chowder in bread bowl. The bread came out toasted with green mold!! How did they miss that?! Killed our appetites immediately! I've read comments comparing Icon to the Four Seasons. One of our travel companions stayed there and I had an opportunity to rest in her room during our long afternoons in Hong Kong island. The hotel is impeccable and there was definitely no mold in our food.

Decent size room for Hong Kong. Definitely not huge but plenty big enough. Nice bathroom. Perfect Kowloon location. Clean and nice

Summer Palace - The Michelin starred Summer Palace serves Cantonese cuisine including Yum Cha, Dim Sum, and vegetarian options. Open lunch and dinner with smart casual dress code.
cafe TOO - A choice of seven different cooking zones provide guests with international cuisine, offering vegetarian selections. This café has crisp, contemporary décor, with polished floors, glass and steel finishes, and features a salad bar and desserts counter. Open from early morning till late, the café is located on level seven.
Nadaman - Japanese cuisine by Japanese chefs with separate Teppanyaki and Sushi areas, and a private room. À la carte dining is also provided with vegetarian options, for lunch and dinner till late. The restaurant has floor-to-ceiling windows. It is located on level seven above the lobby, and dress code is smart casual.
Island Gourmet - A patisserie provides a selection of fresh-made pastries, chocolates, breads and sandwiches. Open from early morning till evening, the cozy patisserie is found on level five.
Lobby Lounge - Traditional afternoon tea or evening cocktails are served while a musical quartet entertains with light music. The Lounge is situated off the lobby on level six and is open from morning till late evening. Guests are required to wear smart casual dress.
Lobster Bar & Grill - Cocktails and a light international menu are served daily, and there are performances six nights a week. Dress code is smart casual and the restaurant and bar is located on level six.
Guests have use of the swimming pool on level eight, where there is also a fitness center offering cardio equipment including treadmills and cycles and weight machines, along with sauna and steam rooms for men's and women's use. A Jacuzzi is also available.
Concierge may be able to assist guests with off-site recreational activities including fitness classes, squash and other activities available at Hong Kong Park, Wan Chai Sports ground, and Victoria Park.

From check in to check out, our stay at the Hong Kong Island Shangri-la was a class act. Of course, our harbor view room provided a wonderful backdrop to the well-appointed and comfortably spacious (by Hong Kong standards) room. A well organized bathroom with excellent accessories added to our comfort. While moderately soft by Asian standards, the bed […] was still a bit hard. Calls for service were handled with courteous tones and speedy deliveries. The swimming pool was a serene welcome respite from busy streets. A drink in the lounge just before departure yielded unsolicited snack refills coupled with a warm genuine smile from our waitress, capping our visit and our conclusion that a return visit is definitely warranted. "Superb Service"
From the minute you enter the hotel to the minute you check out, you are pampered and treated as if you are the only guest they have. For old-school service, this hotel cannot be beat and I've been to them all - the Peninsula, the Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Ritz-Carlton, you name it.

"Island Shangri-La - absolute luxury"
We stayed at the Island Shangri-La for two nights on the way back from Europe. We opted for the Club package which included breakfast and access to the Club lounge where drinks and snacks were complimentary. The service throughout the hotel was excellent, the rooms luxurious and access to shops, transport and amenities was very good. "Excellent service in a fabulous location"
The service was faultless from beginning to end of our 4-night stay. All staff were friendly, polite, professional and eager-to-please. We had a lovely room with a superb view of the Peak, a very comfortable bed, well-functioning air-conditioning and a nice touch of a fruit basket filled on a daily basis. 舒適的房間及服務， 及自早晨至晚上，五十六層的茶點就是加油站，在節假日，太古廣場人頭涌涌，當您血拼累了想找東西吃，所有餐館都要排隊侯位，為節省時間及力氣，我們喜歡到五十六層小憩兼果腹，舒適！
"홍콩 아일랜드 샹그릴라 이용후"
큰딸과 처음으로 둘이 홍콩으로 여행을 갔다. 올해는 매사에 자신감이 없는 큰딸과 시간이 나면 해외로 나가기로 결정했기에. 7월말 호주 시드니 가지전에 연휴로 가까운 홍콩으로. 참 덥고 습하다. 샹그릴라 호텔하면 최고급이라는 이미지가 있어 시드니도 샹그릴라로 예약하기로 했다. 그러나 판에 박힌 직원들, 고객이 언어가 불편한 느낌이 들면 통역을 불러 주어야 하지만 마지막날 잠깐 체크아웃할때 한국인 직원을 보았다. 정말 호텔에 돈을 쓰고 즐길 수 있게 서비스가 부족하다.

이번에는 호라이즌 클럽 플로어로 업그레이드해서 지냈었는데요, 아주 맘에 들었습니다. 마지막 날에 옆 방에서 10시 넘은 시간에 아이가 소리를 계속 질러서 결국은 컴플레인 한 것만 빼면요. 아이들이 좋아하는 홍콩공원이랑 가깝고, 센트럴 가기에도, 코즈웨이베이 가기에도 편리합니다.
