Around the corner from the leather market and train station, which made it easy to walk around aimlessly and still know where you were. There are lots of other shady hostel-type hotels in the area, but Porta Faenza is a legit spot and is a steal for the price. Would absolutely stay here again. The room wasclean but small and there wasn't a lot of room for luggage but it had everything that we needed. My best friend and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff is friendly and knowledgable of the surrounding attractions. The room we had, was quite spacious and the decor was fantastic. the hotel is well located with a lot of restaurants and places to buy water and etc... It is close to the main attractions and to the train station as well . I recently stayed at the Hotel Porta Faenza and it was terrific, but I’ve stayed there before so I wasn’t surprised. This small, family run hotel is in an historic palazzo, which has been recently modernized. The result is all the modern conveniences: modern baths, soundproof rooms, air conditioning, etc. in a building with beamed and painted ceilings, […] exposed brick and stained glass. My room was large, had a spacious bath, beamed ceiling, and like the rest of the hotel a nice mix of antiques and good quality contemporary furniture, plus free Wi-Fi, flat screen TV, minibar, etc. The hotel is located only three blocks from the train station, but on a very quiet, cobblestoned street that seems more a courtyard and is within a few minutes walk of the historic city center, where most of the tourist sights are. Breakfast, which is served in a sunny, cheerful room, has a good selection and everything is of very good quality…and breakfast is included. But, the best part of this great hotel, is the staff…everyone from the owners down to the housekeepers are friendly, professional and accommodating, and the hotel is small enough, that they know you as a person, not just a room number. Not to single anyone out, but Beatrice and Francesca are especially helpful. As, I said, I’ve stayed here before and I can’t wait to again…this hotel is much nicer than any four star hotel I’ve stayed in, in Italy. Read more

We were staying in Florence for only one night. We checked in right at noon and were able to easily walk to the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, etc. without being in the middle of it all (very busy). The staff was helpful and friendly; rooms were simple, but clean. Easy walk to many restaurants.

This is a very nice hotel near the train station and convenient to major sights in Florence. I have stayed here several times in different rooms and always had a good experience. The staff is excellent and very friendly. They all speak English well, although this is not typically a problem in most of Florence. I would stay here again.

Couple blocks over from train station on funky little side street, not a problem. We had a family room, nice fresco painted ceiling with wood beams. Woman on front desk day shift was extremely helpful, everything else was just fine. Parking for a car is around the corner in a garage. Also you're a couple blocks from the Duomo!

Good location and clean rooms. Very convenient to the train station (less than 5 mins walk). Very close to the Duomo and the main shopping market for leather goods. The breakfast was great and the rooms were very quiet due to double-glazed windows. I would recommend as a good value place to stay.

The staff/front desk at this hotel was very friendly and accommodating. The room was a bit small, and the shower was a bit awkward. Because of the layout of the shower, every time we showered, water would get all over the floor. But we got over it. The hotel is in a great location, right in the middle of the city. Recently just visited Florence. Hotel is in a great location. Easy to walk to from Terminal if arriving by train. My husband and I arrived from Train from Rome. Was only a few blocks from station, which is great when you are hauling luggage! Easy to walk to Piazza Duomo and shopping at Piazza Del Mercato Centrale. Our room was smaller than what we had […] in Rome for the same price. We stayed at the Hotel Londra Cargill in Rome and it was AMAZING! Otherwise, it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was alright, nothing special, but fills you up. Anyways, my flat iron would not work even with the converter, so I purchased one just a few shops down from hotel for 29,00 euros! Pretty good shopping nearby. The hotel booked for us a wine Tour in Tuscany..highly recommend doing this! Had a great time. Discovering Chianti Tour with Delicious Wine Tasting-PM (1400-1900) 45,00 euros...totally worth it. Some others from our hotel decided to go wit us and it was great. Another hotel we stayed at on our trip charged around 40 euros for the 4 of us for breakfast and it wasn't worth it, so we found the breakfast buffet here great!
