"Fabulous modern boutique hotel"
I had a really great stay in New Orleans. The hotel was a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of NOLA. My room was huge and furnished with top quality lux furniture, linens and lighting. This hotel does not have room service but you can order food from their sister hotel which is right up the street.Genuine Expedia guest review
First off, there is not any signage on the building, door, sidewalk to indicate there is a hotel there.Second, once i asked a homeless person where it was. I had to get out of the car open a door and yell in the lobby to see if I was actually at the hotel. Once the bellman/valet/night audit/front desk attendent stopped texting/posting on facebook to […] respond yes. He then pointed to the bellmans cart for me to fetch my own bags. Then I had to basically force him to park my car which cost $35. checking out was worse. no restuarant, no room service, room was dark and felt cold. There are better options for the price. "Lovely boutique hotel in a great location"
If you want something unique and modern without pretense, this fits the bill. As others have said, this is not the Ritz. If you are looking for abundant amenities, this is not the place for you. The atmosphere is so refreshing from your average high-end hotel. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful. The ONLY downside was caused by the beautiful […] hammered copper doors to each room. The housekeeping staff started early in the morning and seemed to let each room door slam behind them as they went in and out. What we thought was going to be a lazy morning sleeping in ended too soon for our liking. This would not deter us from returning. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"boring and uncomfortable"
the minimalist style of this hotel is, ironically, overdone, with expansive rooms, yet almost no living area. the bathroom alone is bigger than many motel rooms, but offers nothing by which to appreciate the space. the shower is airy (drafty) with a somewhat annoying dual-head system that yet produces barely enough of a stream to be functional and no […] way to step out of its way. considering the majority of the room was bare with concrete floors, the dust and even mold was surprising. "We Will Return!"
This is a wonderful- hip and stylish-boutique hotel. The rooms are loft style-spacious and modern with a industrial feel. The king size bed so comfortablething-18'-ceilings, cement floors, and incredible, delightful bathroom Did I say bath ROOM- so large that it is equal to the size of a bedroom! Unpolished marble, walk-in shower, freestanding ovular […] modern soaking tub ! Aveda products & a coffee maker to, start the morning off right before you head out. "Close to all, but not in the craziness of NOLA"
Are you looking for a private, VIP getaway? This is it. There is no sign on building, everything has a hidden, cool, loft vibe to it. The hotel has all original local art. The place is a converted warehouse that has a minimalist appeal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"GONE DOWNHILL BUT STILL ONE-OF-A-KIND"
My wife and I have stayed here many times and loved every visit but our most recent was met with great disapointment. This hotel is usually flawless. Bed Linens were tattered and torn, Elevator smelled sour and old, Fridge wasn't stocked like in the past. I think this hotel is truly a hidden gem in the Big Easy so I will try them again but if I encounter […] the same "old and used" feeling .... It will be my last visit. i like hi ceilings and minimalist enviroment. if that is not your style, then this may not be your cup of tea... the mattress was amazing, some of the best sleep ever in a hotel. the staff couldn't be more helpful, i wish every hotel could have service like that~ easy going and polite.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Loft 523 Hidden Gem"
Excellent location for my business trip and was not crowded like surrounding hotels during a weekend with a big college football game and a Saints game. Love the room size!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Love this hotel. Great decor. Seemed like a nice hidden gem in downtown. Quiet and clean. Loved the room (especially the bathroom tub). Very friendly staff, reasonable price for parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Weekend in New Orleans"
The reviews were better than the actual stay. The building lost water on the last morning there. Wifi was awful. I called to the desk and all he said was his worked ok at the front desk. Just a bad signal! It wasnt terrible but I wouldnt go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel for a Couple"
My boyfriend and I came to New Orleans for a weekend getaway and found Loft 523 for a pretty decent price. We were definitely pleasantly suprised with the hotel. It was done very simply and yet it met every need we had. It was perfect for a couple who simply wanted to get away for a short time. They are not family or child friendly but that was not […] a problem for us. And it was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do in the French Quarter without the French Qarter prices. The staff was awesome and tons of help to us. Anything we needed, we simply called down to the desk and it was provided by courteous, helpful, knowledgeable staff. I definitely would recommend this to any of my couple friends looking to escape from reality to New Orleans! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel with lots of promise"
Nicely appointed / designed spacious rooms with high cielings gives this hotel a unique feel. Service was excellent, but valet parking was slower than I expected. Lighting in the bathroom was not adequate, and the shower head made the shower experience unpleasant, like being attacked by a crowd of acupuncturists. Lobby bar was closed which was a relief […] as some reviews complained about noise. If they open a location in the lobby that doesn't interfere with guests this place is going to be even better. We were super pleased with our stay. The staff could not have been nicer or more attentive. The location was ideal and we could walk to anywhere and then leave the craziness behind. The noise was never and issue. The bar down stairs doesn't seem to be in use right now. It is a city so you do hear a big truck or car stereo go buy, but never heard or […] saw anyone else in the hotel itself. We have decided that this is our new go to spot when staying in New Orleans. "We will definitely return to Loft 523!"
Upon check-in, we received an immediate room upgrade. Our room was contemporary, spacious and attractive, with soaring ceilings and large windows that overlooked trees and the beautiful old brick building across the street. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean and well-appointed. The staff was responsive to each request, and helped to […] make our stay delightful. "The ONLY place to stay in New Orleans"
Finally, I found a clean, quiet, convenient and nice place to stay! I was so impressed with the layout of the room that I came home thinking maybe moving to a loft space is in my future. The only bummer was that there is no hotel bar or coffee shop so that was a bit inconvenient. It looks like they are in the process of remodeling though so maybe it's […] coming. Either way, I'll never stay anywhere else when I visit New Orleans. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close enough to walk"
Loft 523 was in a great location. It was within walking distance of several great restaurants. Parking was a pain though. The hotel does not have free parking and daily valet there costs $32 (although this does include unlimited in/out service). The room was beautiful, but at times, too dimly lit. The soft lighting is romantic but the lights in the […] bathroom were so low that it was difficult to apply makeup. The employees that worked at the front desk were nice and provided advice when asked. My biggest complaint is probably the fact that there was no internet for 2 out of the 3 days I stayed there. Also, I hate that the maid service came so early in the morning. No, I don't want my room cleaned at 9am -- I'm still in it. I wish the maid service came at noon or later. Also, if I asked for the maid service to come later, they would give me a call later in the day and ask if I was ready for my room to be cleaned and give me a bit of an attitude if I asked them to come another time. Overall the hotel was great, there were just a few small things I would change. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a good room, but great staff made it right"
Here are the best things about Loft 523: the staff is outstanding (professional, personable, polite); the location is great; and the price is quite low. All that being said, I couldn't stay there even 1 night. There were a number of things I didn't like. To check in, you have to feed a meter or park illegally; there is no passenger zone out front. There […] is also no sign or number on the exterior of the property; look carefully at pics and Street View before you go! And if you are sensitive to chemicals in the air (like me) you should know there's a powerful diffuser burning in the very small lobby area 24/7. It burned my throat and my eyes within 5 mins. When I got up to the room, it got worse. I found a used hand lotion bottle top lying on the hutch next to the TV, and the DVD player had long, discarded hairs on it. ugh! I went right back downstairs and told all this to Stephanie at the front desk. She was wonderful! I immediately had a full and complete apology, a new room waiting for me at Loft 523's nearby sister property, a call to said property notifying them that I was enroute, and a call to the bellhop to come and move my luggage to my new room. As far as I'm concerned, even though I won't stay at Loft 523 again, Stephanie and the rest of the staff made full amends and I was absolutely DELIGHTED with the room that they arranged for me at the International House (check them out!). "great boutique hotel"
The accomodations are beautiful, large and charming. The staff went above and beyond for me. I will stay there again. The only drawback is that the hotel is so tiny, one can drive right past it. There is virtually no room in front to park while checking in and waiting for valet parking for one's car. And, of course, the hotel share's restaurant accomodations […] with the International hotel a 1/4 block away. Not so much of a problem because the area is replete with great restaurants. "Spacious, Clean and Friendly !!"
Clean, spacious rooms with plenty of light and amenities. This hotel is located on a quiet street, close to the Convention center and all the major tourist destinations. If you're looking for a unique hotel stay I'd highly recommend Loft 523.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
OK, if I wanted to find things wrong with Loft523 I could mention the room keys that never work and require reprogramming at the front desk each time, or the surround sound stereo speakers in the room that weren't wired to anything, or the sound of other rooms surround sound late at night late at night. But those items are minor. The place has the great […] vibe of a small boutique loft hotel. The rooms are large, bright and airy, the king bed is very comfortable, large bathroom, etc. The neighborhood feels like SOHO but is only 2 blocks to Canal St and the French Quarters and 3-4 blocks to the river. Being located on the west side of Canal St. you are not in the middle of Tourista 101/Bourbon St. Everything thing is an easy 10-15 minute walk and walking back to the hotel is relaxing. We read in other reviews that the hotel is difficult to find. Well thankfully it has a very subtle facade, but is right next to the Omni hotel on a prominent side street. What's wrong with being hard to find, anyway? We'd definitely consider staying there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fantastic boutique hotel"
Absolutely beautiful room, lovely clean and huge!!! The only downside to the hotel is that as of yet it doesn't have a bar / restaurant, but great breakfasts round the corner in the Ruby Slipper. Fantastic hotel, friendly staff and great location. Would recommend to anyone visiting New Orleans.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Great spacious rooms and bathrooms, quiet AC (a must in NO), fast elevator and generally quiet. Good location, close to but away from the crush and seediness of the French Qtr. Good wifi and room facilities. Would stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"great rooms great location"
excellent decor and condition, perfect for short or long stays, ideally located the day receptionists very helpful, the International House night staff and taxi booker brilliant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
For the expense of this hotel it was disappointing - shower was terrible and no bath, couldn't shut the bathroom door without it jamming, a couple of lights didn't work, no sign or street number displayed meant it was very hard to find (both ourselves and taxi/tour operators). The room was very large but this didn't compensate for the general maintenance […] issues and could have provided much better design/facilities to make use of the space. "Great value and location, and huge rooms!"
We had a great time in New orleans and really enjoyed our stay at the Loft. In particular the size of the room was brilliant. Plenty of space to settle in. Also the knowledge, help and advice of the staff on reception was exceptional. Only down sides would be the issue with no internet whilst we were there (which was no doubt beyond the hotels control […] anyway) and the fact that the acoustics didn't seem too good. We could sometimes hear the neighbours (who seemed to have a small dog who liked to bark) and the hall noises. Over-all though it was great value for money and the location suited us perfectly. "Not that impressed"
The Loft is a boutique hotel heavinly inspired by european and north african trends. It looks nice and impressive but the whole hotel feels a bit "cold". The bathroom is very big and feels very trendy but the shower heads (two in total) are very high up on the wall so if you are a woman and you don't want to get your hair wet you will not enjoy it. […] My partner is quite tall and he did not enjoy it either. But it would look great in a film shoot and that is the feel you get with the whole place. We were supposed to get a welcome gift upon arrival but nothing was waiting for us in the room and the receptionist did not say a word about it. When I asked the next morning we were supposed to have received a voucher for welcome drinks at a nearby bar. The receptionist apologized and we received a USD10 credit towards the price of the room (which was a nice gesture). Ok location but I would not stay there again. If you want southern hospitality then stay at Le Pavillon since it is much nicer and friendlier but not as trendy as the Loft. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
