"a bit older of a Motel, but I was very impressed"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
This was a bit older of a Motel, but I was very impressed how clean it was.I was very happy with the service people. Very friendly and helpful. I missed my plane and they were very good to me and I stayed there one more night. The price is in relationship with the kind of motel this and i was pleased. They deserve their / your business. Their breakfast is only muffins and orange juice.

With about 40,000 students, the University of Washington is the area’s lifeblood. The campus includes a world-class medical center, the Burke Museum, and Henry Art Gallery. UW’s main square offers a clear view of Mount Rainier. West of UW, a Lenin statue watches over Fremont, which bills itself as “The Center of the Universe.” Fremont’s low-rise shops and cafés resemble Berkeley and Old New York.
see all hotels in SeattleOverall it was good! Only complaint is the wireless Internet was not sufficient.
"Convenient location"
The room was very clean and comfortable. It was wonderful to have internet available. I would choose to stay at this hotel for future business trips to Seattle.
Bright, light, airy rooms. Windows open! Very clean and private.
"Urban hotel on the edge of the UW"
I loved the modern decor and feather pillows. The breakfast and coffee at the in hotelcafe was good. The courtesy shuttle to several major Seattle sights was unexpected convenience. I would highly recommend this hotel.

"Watertown Hotel is Great!"
Great location, comfy beds, friendly staff, clean/quiet rooms, cafe. Can't think of anything I didn't like about it.
Very nice, clean room. We won't hesitate to stay here again!
"A nice stay at Watertown"
The decision to stay at Watertown was based mainly on convenience that it was very near my brother's house. Positives are great location, enclosed parking included for guests, nice suite area with mini-fridge & coffee maker, and friendly staff very willing to accomodate. The drawbacks that I could see are a very small bathroom with the door that almost […] hits the toilet(we had Rm 409), no proper restaurant in the hotel, and the type of sheets just slipped off the bed too easily. The hotel ought to look at new type of bedding where the sheets are more secure to the matress. Overall enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to others travelling for business. I'd agree that it is solid 3 star hotel as rated. Read more
"Watertown - convenience and comfort for all"
Very close to the University...we could walk there...and a beautiful view of Mt Rainier too! Would have been very nice to have a breakfast in the hotel but the secure parking and clean, comfortable room was very nice. I really like the decor of the room and the lobby as well. Would stay here again I think.
"Close to UW"
One of the two best hotels near University of Washington. Walk to all UW area facilities and surrounding shopping and restaurants.
The stay was pleasant enough, but the bottom sheet on the bed was not fitted and did not cover the sides of the mattress. Therefore the sheet was moving and bunching up under me every time I turned over. Other than the less-than-restful sleep, the hotel was nice.
"Lovely Hotel"
I was very pleased with my stay. After a bumpy start (couldn't find where to park when registering, ended up going the wrong way on a one way street) everything else was great! The front desk staff was welcoming and helpful. Underground parking was secure and easy. The room was wonderful. Kind of a suite arrangement. The bed linens and towels were terrific...what […] I'd expect in a 5 star hotel. The bathroom was clean and decent water pressure. Popcorn for the microwave. I would certainly stay again! Read more

"Perfect location, great hotel"
Steps away from Portage Bay, the best breakfast place in the world. Free underground parking, great place to stay.
"Unexpected pleasure"
Needed to stay close to the UW for a couple of nights and had a wonderful stay! Room was next to elevator, yet no noise. Well appointed for my needs and unexpectedly clean with great decor. Well done!

"Saturday in Seattle"
We have stayed at the Watertown several times over the past few years. We have always had a good stay. We use to enjoy the complimentary breakfast. Too bad it is no more. The free secure parking is a plus as is the shuttle service. We usually end up downtown, but don't like staying there. It's is nice to get to a quieter place. Found a good restaurant […] nearby, Bilbao, spanish/tapas. Nice short walk, good food. We will be staying at the Watertown again. It isn't 5 star, but it is comfortable. Read more

"Watertown"
I think the Watertown needs a bit of updating (stains on carpets, old caulking in bathrooms) and wish they offered a fresh cooked breakfast-this is Seattle and I enjoy and appreciate good, fresh food. I would gladly pay for a better breakfast. I do not recommend eating breakfast at this hotel.
"Very Nice Hotel"
I went to visit with my family. I Thought it was going to look like a La Quinta but I was quickly dispelled. It was a modern Urban hotel kind of hipster which complemented the college neighborhood. The complimentary bikes made my day! The room was very comfortable. We had our on robes and water at no extra cost. I highly recommend it!
"Excellent, modern hotel - perfect for UW visit"
I stayed here for a night before an interview at UW and was very pleasantly surprised. The room was very large and modern. My iron didn't work and the staff replaced it immediately. It was a 3 minute cab ride to the university and there are lots of restaurants and shops right around the corner. I would definitely stay here again!

"Nice Place"
Hotel was great. It was clean and had great coffee. I reserved a king but got a two queens not to much to complain about there. The breakfast was good not great but there are great restaurants all around. I had a great stay.

"Watertown Hotel close to the University campus"
Everything was pleasant and easy. There was one light missing at the bedside where there had been one before. Another little table on the left side of the left bed would have made for more comfort. Al in all a good experience though!
"Watertown Hotel - Great location, great value!"
Stayed here while visiting UW. Great location, easy access from I-5, and only blocks to the university and The Ave. Clean, modern design, friendly service, great breakfast. Loved it!
Very reasonably priced hotel with a nice breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
"The Watertown Hotel-close to the U. of Washington"
Very clean, convenient hotel if you are visiting the University of Washington. Across the street is a new market with great sandwiches.
"Cold water!"
The hotel was convenient to U. of W. but the neighborhood rundown. The room was large and clean but the beds uncomfortable, looked out onto other windows (no privacy) and worse of all there was no hot water on our last day,all day, making for an uncomfortable flight home. We did take out the bikes which was fun. Breakfast was poor.
"gift in safe"
We have stayed at this hotel several times and have always enjoyed staying there. This time we got a disabled room which was a bit different. We also found a surprise pair of dirty men's briefs in the safe after we had to have it opened so we could use it. Breakfast could stand some improvement too.
"Excellent location, hard to find the parking!"
Wonderful hotel so close to University of Washington. We had an issue finding the secure parking -- it was behind gates. So simple once we knew! Room was spacious, comfortable and welcoming. And the continental breakfast satisfying. We would stay here again.
"Very comfortable hotel!"
Very comfortable room, loved the bathrobe! Very nice staff, highly recommended hotel! I also appreciated the tasty breakfast and coffee!
"Good hotel, bad service"
We stayed there 3 nights here. After the first night, when we came back to our room in the evening we saw that there were trash on the floor (empty water bottle). We thought they made a mistake and didn't see it so we didn't bother to let them know. The next day the room cleaning service never showed up. We had to call them after noon to come clean […] up. When we came back again all the trash was still in the room. They didn't clean up at all!! It seems like they just fix the bed change the towels that's all. Read more
"Great Hotel"
I have stayed at this hotel several times and would highly recommend it, it is a lovely hotel, very clean, and the hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. Great location if you have a student at UW, too.
"Close to everything, great amenities"
We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at the Watertown Hotel. We arrived later than we had planned, and the front desk immediately called a taxi to take us to our show... wonderful service! The room was clean, bright and had a nice layout. The bed was uber comfortable and the towels were the fluffiest (while still able to dry you) that I've ever encountered […] at a hotel. For such a great price compared to chains (which while nice, are all pretty generic), I will always stay at the Watertown Hotel for future trips to Seattle. Read more

"Clean and comfortable"
Good clean hotel for the price. Spacious rooms with some nice amenities. location is a bit to be desired but the fact that they have a free shuttle into Seattle City Center makes it work. I recommend this hotel.
"Cyclist friendly hotel"
Stayed here the night prior to the 2011 Seattle to Portland ride. This hotel could not be more cyclist friendly. Elevators are sized to fit bikes, the Continental breakfast opened early to accommodate riders and no one complained about walking in the lobby with cleats. Great experience. Only minor complaint -- the sheets were so heavily starched that […] every time you moved, they made noise. Kept the wife awake all night. Light sleepers beware. Read more
"Watertown Hotel - convienent to UW"
The Watertown hotel was super. Large clean rooms, very comfortable beds, within walking distance to UW. Staff wascheerful and helpful. Shuttle to downtown was a plus
"Great place to stay near the University"
We stayed at this hotel while visiting my brother, a student at the University. The shuttle was very helpful in getting downtown and the breakfast in the morning was great. If you're looking to spend the majority of your time downtown, this hotel may be a little out of the way for you. Also, the gym is in pretty sad shape so don't expect to spend much […] time there. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again. Read more
"The Watertown Hotel in Seattle-urban chic decor"
I loved the room I had at this hotel. The decor was very modern and yet comfortable and felt new. Free parking was a real plus. They also gave me a great room even though I booked it through Hotels.com at a discount.
"Watertown Hotel -- Wonderful hotel near UW"
I stayed here with my daughter for 3 nights while visiting University of Washington, it was so convenient. My daughter was able to use one of the bikes provided to bike to campus for some events she was attending, on other days it was close for us to walk there. The hotel is very nice, very clean, offers a shuttle to Seattle. The rooms have a microwave […] and refrigerator and the hotel is across the street from a market and deli, so it all was very handy. "Watertown Hotel in Seattle"
This was a modern hotel with many conveniences only found in a 5 star hotel. Highly recommend
"TheWatertown hotel, Seattle"
The hotel's design is sleek with clean lines. It was a lovely place to stay. they served a good free buffet each morning with coffee/tea and apples available all day. I found it awkward to drive up to the hotel. It's on Roosevelt Ave and it was hard to figure out where to park to check in, especially at night, but the parking was free and that saves […] one a lot of money. The room didn't have a light on the ceiling, instead there were too many individual lights one had to turn on to get reasonable lighting. the tub spout was loose and turned around and the fan in the bathroom went on way too long. Finally, the desk forgot my wake up call! good thing I had a back up! Read more
"Convenient Locatin to UW"
recently stayed at this hotel while visiting colleges in the Seattle area. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Great for parents while visiting their child at UW. Many great places to eat nearby.
"Comfortable and great location"
My son and I stayed at the Watertown during a visit to the University of Washington. The front desk was friendly and helpful, the school was within easy walking distance, and the rooms were clean, well-lit & comfortable. Free wi-fi, free shuttle to downtown and free continental breakfast all helped make our stay a great experience! Will go back again […] soon. Only slight negative was sloppy maid service one day out of 3 nights there. Read more
"Want to Return to Watertown"
I have traveled the world and the accomodations at Watrertowen wwere among the very top. The staff, the housekeeping, the breakfasts, the in-and-out underground parking, the umbrella loan,, the downtown shuttle service, the postage stamp sales, THE LOCATION, were all outstanding. For the first time, I felt someone had actually thought about me, the […] customer! I will hghly recommend the Watertown. Thanks so much. David Read more
