All rooms includeSan Marco (St Mark’s) is quintessential visitors’ Venice. The Piazza San Marco, famous for its pigeons, campanile, basilica, Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace) and expensive cafes, is unmissable. The waterfront views are legendary and more gondolas depart from here than anywhere else in the city. In season the Piazza teems with day trippers though just a block or two away streets are quiet and offer more museums and palaces to explore.

We booked 2 nights at the Hotel Bembo with the thought that we were getting a canal view room as it was described when we made the reservation . It was our 20 yr annniversary & we wanted a special room. What we got was a room with a small canal below( you had to stand on a chair to see it) but not "the canal" as we had thought. So we were disappointed, though the room was ok & the staff very nice. Also, the hotel is very hard to find, there is no signs and if we had not found someone outside to ask we probably would not have found it.
