good location - close to some nice restaurants - walking distance to many other restaurants & bars. Parking is limited, street noise off Lombard is tough to ignore. Good value for the limitations they have to work with, but pricing should be a little bit better...

Great location, close to harbour and other main attractions. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms where convenient and clean with quite big bathrooms. Free parking, although the space was limited. Included breakfast was nothing to write home about. They even ran out of food on our last day when we showed up a bit later (8:45).

Like most hotels along Lombard St, this property shows its age. We chose based on parking avaabity. While not the best, we did have no site parking. The bath room was nicely payed out and large for the room. While the mattress made concerning spring noises, it slept well. Seating in the room was 2 office desk chairs. No closet but a hanging rack.

Staff was very helpful. Location was great, close to city transportation. Room was very cramped with luggage. Bed was not very comfortable. It was clean and served our purpose as a place to sleep after a full day of sight-seeing.

Once we arrived with a payed King size bed room and checked in we were told there were no more rooms. The guy behind us had reserved the same room but it was only a reservation and ours was payed and he got the bed. Our upgrade was for a bigger room with 2 full size beds not even queens. Why would my wife and I want an upgrade for 2 beds that are smaller? […] It was a bit fustrating and I looked on Hotels.com and saw that you cant promise the bed size that we pay you for. Francisco Bay is very close to the Goldengate Bridge, Pier 39, the crookedest street in the world, and Ghirardelli Square. Public transportation is very accessible. The continental breakfast was pretty weak. Croissants, prepackaged Danish, instant coffee. Had several encounters with front desk staff. The two female attendants were absolutely rude and […] couldn't be bothered. The two male attendants were very friendly and helpful. However, the room was very clean. Decent sized room. Fridge and microwave in the room were nice to have. The décor though is straight out of the 80's. But really, who cares about that. You won't be in your room except to sleep. Turn left and walk a block and a half down Lombard and rent a bike from the dry cleaners. The bridge and Pier 39 are easily accessible by bike with good bike trails. Highly recommend taking the ferry to Sausalito and eat at Cibo's. Great inexpensive sandwiches and desserts. Read more

I had just come from a time-share suite, so in comparison it was not as good. It was just an average hotel room, nothing outstanding. People at the desk were not terribly helpful when I wanted to print out my boarding pass for the flight home. The breakfast was inadequate.

We decided to go to San Francisco for the weekend. We were not looking for anything fancy and did not want to spend a shiny penny either. This hotel had a great price. It is a 4 blocks away from Lombard street, around 1.5 Walking miles from Fisherman's wharf, Girardelli chocolate factory and Pier 39. China Town and Union Square are also around 1.5-2 […] walking miles from this hotel. All the local tours we booked knew which hotel it was and had no problem getting to us. We were able to get a shuttle van to and from the Hotel for $18 per person. America Airporters was the name. We has a Microwave and a mini fridge, Iron and Blowdrier. Very clean. Breakfast is fruit, muffins and Milk, which was enough for me to start the day. Read more

The hotel is easily accessible and the parking was free. The room was clean and better than we had anticipated. There was a convenient store directly across the street and the staff was nice. The room had a fridge an old tv and was semi spacious. Shampoo/conditioner provided was not good.

I was surprisingly happy with my stay at the Francisco Bay Inn. The location was ideal and was a short walk to Ghirardelli Square and Pier 39. The breakfast was decent, they had delicious croissants and iffy muffins available even after the cut off time which was nice. I would stay there again if I needed a hotel in SF.

This was a disappointing first visit to San Francisco. The information and photo supplied with the Expedia site was not at all what we had when we got there. There was barely enough room to walk round the king bed in the room. There was no place to sit other than the bed.

My GF and I flew down to Anaheim to pickup a Vette and were driving it back up Hwy101 to Seattle. This hotel was our second and next to last night of the drive. The hotel itself was a pain to drive to with GPS taking us thru the heart of San Fran. Once we got there, the hotel was a pretty hefty walk to the wharf and crooked street. Neither of us complained […] about vehicle traffic or road noise, my complaint is about parking, our room and breakfast. For the price, I expected WAY more than we got. Parking was jammed packed with vehicles double parked; I was nervous about my new Vette getting dinged. Our room was a little crazy; you could literally feel every spring in the mattress and there was a big sag in the middle. The bathroom had 8 light switches and four of them did nothing. Also, our room shared an entrance with another room and those people would stand in the aisle in front of our shared entrance smoking their stuff. You could also hear their door open and close every time. The breakfast in the morning was horrible....ran out of everything, even coffee. It was the worst breakfast of the three hotels we stayed in on this trip. We ended up going to a restaurant. Great location, close to all the sights, found some great bars and shops on Union and Chestnut St's, and just a short walk away. Cabs where easy to get and the guys at the deli across the road on Franklin were awesome. Very helpful and courteous staff made my first stay in San Francisco the best. Will be back at the Francisco Bay Inn.

Let me start with breakfast,they just 2 donuts near the front desk and you should eat right there.i was there around 8am by then the receptionist said I don't know we have so many guests if needed I can suggest good near by breakfast places.rooms are conjusted and smelly.parking is just for namesake you don't even see space to walk.
