start with the arrival, where does one park ? there is an abandoned old van occupying 2 spaces in the very limited parking lot, where others just park wherever and don't have concern about blocking any other guests in. The Room ? Small and restricted, the bed struggled to stay put together, there is nowhere to sit except on the bed, or on the pot !!! […] the bathroom seems larger than the bedroom, the Free WiFi internet does not work, the Free cable TV from Comcast keeps cutting out.... the list goes on.... even the room doesn't match the photos displayed on the website..... I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location OK parking"
Right where we wanted to be..luckily we got a parking space ...clean room coffee maker and mini fridge were a plus but the worst bed we have ever slept on !!!! Might as well slept on the floor as far as comfort !!! Would recommend if your looking for a place to store your stuff but not sleepGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good clean basic room to meet anyone's need"
No problems, friendly cooperative staff. Good location, everything walkable. Friendly to bikers.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not the greatest"
Hotel close to railway, somewhat noisy. Not very clean either, blanket with cigarette burns and lots of hair from past gests.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
nice. could be cleaner.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Location is okay, but, issue is the condition of the hotel itself - outdated, noisy. I can not recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Wharf & too close to noisy street"
good location - close to some nice restaurants - walking distance to many other restaurants & bars. Parking is limited, street noise off Lombard is tough to ignore. Good value for the limitations they have to work with, but pricing should be a little bit better...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location, close to harbour and other main attractions. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms where convenient and clean with quite big bathrooms. Free parking, although the space was limited. Included breakfast was nothing to write home about. They even ran out of food on our last day when we showed up a bit later (8:45).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Less bang for your buck."
The barroom was clean but the room had lots if stains on the carpet and on the ceiling. Their was a bench in the room and was also full of stains. I went to get ice at night and the stairwell smelled like urine. Next time I will book the a hotel with more time so I don't get stuck with a mediocre one.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Visit to San Francisco"
Like most hotels along Lombard St, this property shows its age. We chose based on parking avaabity. While not the best, we did have no site parking. The bath room was nicely payed out and large for the room. While the mattress made concerning spring noises, it slept well. Seating in the room was 2 office desk chairs. No closet but a hanging rack.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff was very helpful. Location was great, close to city transportation. Room was very cramped with luggage. Bed was not very comfortable. It was clean and served our purpose as a place to sleep after a full day of sight-seeing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"romantic get away"
Once we arrived with a payed King size bed room and checked in we were told there were no more rooms. The guy behind us had reserved the same room but it was only a reservation and ours was payed and he got the bed. Our upgrade was for a bigger room with 2 full size beds not even queens. Why would my wife and I want an upgrade for 2 beds that are smaller? […] It was a bit fustrating and I looked on Hotels.com and saw that you cant promise the bed size that we pay you for. So whats the point of paying for it 5 hours ahead of time to not get it when were there? Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Close to it all and won't break the bank.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was near the quality that is listed. It was old, dirty and was not good for the price. We paid less down the street and the hotel was so much better.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Really needs an update but still pretty good"
Francisco Bay is very close to the Goldengate Bridge, Pier 39, the crookedest street in the world, and Ghirardelli Square. Public transportation is very accessible. The continental breakfast was pretty weak. Croissants, prepackaged Danish, instant coffee. Had several encounters with front desk staff. The two female attendants were absolutely rude and […] couldn't be bothered. The two male attendants were very friendly and helpful. However, the room was very clean. Decent sized room. Fridge and microwave in the room were nice to have. The décor though is straight out of the 80's. But really, who cares about that. You won't be in your room except to sleep. Turn left and walk a block and a half down Lombard and rent a bike from the dry cleaners. The bridge and Pier 39 are easily accessible by bike with good bike trails. Highly recommend taking the ferry to Sausalito and eat at Cibo's. Great inexpensive sandwiches and desserts. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for walkers"
The location is wonderful, in walking distance to many main attractions in San Francisco. The hotel itself is old but the room was clean and the staff friendly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect for a quick SF trip"
Great location. Good neighborhood. Not sketchy or seedy at all. Within walking distance to Ghiradelli (sp?) square and the crooked part of Lombard St. Free parking is hard to find in San Fran- No complaints about the hotel except parking was tight. It's okay you'll get a spot if you arrive late. They double park cars if necessary. If youre blocking […] someone in, the front desk holds your keys. Standard rooms. Nothing to write home about, but they are clean and comfy for a few nights! They offer coffee and pastries in the morning, butI didn't partake in the breakfast (I'm vegan, so I brought my own breakfast goodies). Glad they had a fridge and microwave in the room. I'd totally stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not great but not bad for the price."
The rooms are clean but not very inviting and the decor is very dated. The bathroom is very spacious and clean though. There is virtually no sound proofing so through out the night you will hear traffic and it gets loud. The hotel is located at a very convenient place and is close to most of the attractions including Fisherman's Wharf and Golden Gate […] bridge. It is one of the few hotels that offer free parking but the space provided is very narrow. If you're not petite, forget about getting out of your car once you parked. If you're on a budget and just need to crash for a day or two, it is one of your best options in SF. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel for your budget."
It was in real good location, walking distance from Lombard street. Hop on-hop off tour bus stop was exactly in from of the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"close to public transportation"
I had just come from a time-share suite, so in comparison it was not as good. It was just an average hotel room, nothing outstanding. People at the desk were not terribly helpful when I wanted to print out my boarding pass for the flight home. The breakfast was inadequate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice hotel. Very friendly people. Only thing is, a little tight on parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a pleasant experience"
My experience at this hotel was awful. My room was on the 2nd floor and had paper thin walls and apparently the ceiling as well. I heard every movement of the people next to me and above me. It sounded like they were dropping bowling balls every night (and I heard nearly every word of their 3 am argument on my second night). Street noise is very loud […] (as expected in a city), though I am used to it so it didn't bother me too much, but Lombard is a very busy street around the clock. You can hear/feel people walking past the room. Wi-fi is spotty at best, non-existent at times. The TV is from the '90s and the furniture is wood laminate and looked like it was purchased from a used office furniture store. I read that the rooms were recently remodeled and I shutter to think what the decor was before, because what it was upgraded to is not very attractive. Parking is free, but very limited. They have to double park some cars, and I didn't use my car at night for fear of coming back to the hotel without a place to park. This is billed as a budget hotel, and I suppose you sacrifice some conveniences with a lower cost. But what I expect in any hotel is to be able to relax in my room after a day of sightseeing, and in the entire time I was there that didn't happen once. Way too loud from other guest rooms, kids running around the property or the staff vacuuming (not their fault, they are just doing their job, but the thin walls don't help). I will never stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"It was a great choice for a very good price"
We decided to go to San Francisco for the weekend. We were not looking for anything fancy and did not want to spend a shiny penny either. This hotel had a great price. It is a 4 blocks away from Lombard street, around 1.5 Walking miles from Fisherman's wharf, Girardelli chocolate factory and Pier 39. China Town and Union Square are also around 1.5-2 […] walking miles from this hotel. All the local tours we booked knew which hotel it was and had no problem getting to us. We were able to get a shuttle van to and from the Hotel for $18 per person. America Airporters was the name. We has a Microwave and a mini fridge, Iron and Blowdrier. Very clean. Breakfast is fruit, muffins and Milk, which was enough for me to start the day. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Better than expected but not luxurious"
The hotel is easily accessible and the parking was free. The room was clean and better than we had anticipated. There was a convenient store directly across the street and the staff was nice. The room had a fridge an old tv and was semi spacious. Shampoo/conditioner provided was not good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic place to stay in San Francisco!"
Me and my significant other stayed at the Francisco Bay Inn recently and were extremely pleased with our experience! The staff was very friendly and exceptionally helpful, especially with tour information, local attractions, and nearby places to visit and dine. The room (which had 1 king) was small, but perfect for two people, and the cleanliness of […] the room was great and housekeeping did an awesome job at making everything nice and tidy. The location of the hotel was fantastic also! Very close to Fisherman's Wharf, which of course has a ton of things to see and do. I would *highly* recommend this place because I had a wonderful experience! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
nice location but employee at front office was not nice. Free parking lot is a big plus. They had limited breakfast quantity within the time frame that they promised, so you better get your breakfast earlier.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Recent stay at Francisco Bay Inn"
It is a nice hotel. It is well connected to all the attractions in SFO by bus. Fisherman's Wharf pretty close. I wil surely visit this hotel again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"some rooms are better than others"
some rooms are better than others...some have no closets and are smallGenuine Expedia guest review
I was surprisingly happy with my stay at the Francisco Bay Inn. The location was ideal and was a short walk to Ghirardelli Square and Pier 39. The breakfast was decent, they had delicious croissants and iffy muffins available even after the cut off time which was nice. I would stay there again if I needed a hotel in SF.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Francisco Bay Inn"
This was a disappointing first visit to San Francisco. The information and photo supplied with the Expedia site was not at all what we had when we got there. There was barely enough room to walk round the king bed in the room. There was no place to sit other than the bed.Genuine Expedia guest review
My GF and I flew down to Anaheim to pickup a Vette and were driving it back up Hwy101 to Seattle. This hotel was our second and next to last night of the drive. The hotel itself was a pain to drive to with GPS taking us thru the heart of San Fran. Once we got there, the hotel was a pretty hefty walk to the wharf and crooked street. Neither of us complained […] about vehicle traffic or road noise, my complaint is about parking, our room and breakfast. For the price, I expected WAY more than we got. Parking was jammed packed with vehicles double parked; I was nervous about my new Vette getting dinged. Our room was a little crazy; you could literally feel every spring in the mattress and there was a big sag in the middle. The bathroom had 8 light switches and four of them did nothing. Also, our room shared an entrance with another room and those people would stand in the aisle in front of our shared entrance smoking their stuff. You could also hear their door open and close every time. The breakfast in the morning was horrible....ran out of everything, even coffee. It was the worst breakfast of the three hotels we stayed in on this trip. We ended up going to a restaurant. The attached pic is a view of the Golden Gate from the rooftop deck....the best part of the hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Great location, close to all the sights, found some great bars and shops on Union and Chestnut St's, and just a short walk away. Cabs where easy to get and the guys at the deli across the road on Franklin were awesome. Very helpful and courteous staff made my first stay in San Francisco the best. Will be back at the Francisco Bay Inn.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Let me start with breakfast, they just 2 donuts near the front desk and you should eat right there.i was there around 8am by then the receptionist said I don't know we have so many guests if needed I can suggest good near by breakfast places.rooms are conjusted and smelly.parking is just for namesake you don't even see space to walk.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Best bang for the buck"
The location of this hotel is perfect! The faucet the sink and the window were broken in our room. They tried to fix it but never did it right. The location is very noisy, but if you only crash for a few hours it's great. Continental breakfast is not my favorite but the free parking in the hotel is priceless. The hotel is family friendly and doesn't […] charge anything for children which is great, other hotels charge extra. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay close to all the amenities, the price is very competitive too. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Best place to stay in San Francisco!"
Could not have been any nicer! Great location to walk all over the city, great shopping and restaurants nearby, and even a spectacular view of the Golden Gate.
