The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was delicious and the mix drinks never stopped coming. I truly enjoyed my stay at this property.

We thought the hotel was ok really, although a little bit run down. The outside areas were the highlight and were clearly the focus of the maintenance effort of management. The food was pretty fair, but not very adventurous. Overall, Ocho Rios was a bit disappointing for us on a personnel level - it struggles to provide much sophistication.

What a shame. Obviously once a regal resort, it is now falling apart. The owner seems to be taking all the revenue and is unwillling to reinvest a cent. Evidence of disrepair is everywhwere. The staff does a fantastic job with the cards they are dealt. Food was fair and the booze was bottom shelf.

The Food and Beverage Manager was very rude and he displayed discrimination amongst the guest. He greeted the guest that were white but never at one point in time did he greet a black guest. He was very rude to the ground staff and some of line staff. Staff is very attentive, food was great, spa services also very good. Private beach was quiet and relaxing. This was my first trip to Jamaica and the people at Shaw Park Hotel made it inviting and pleasant. Looking forward to my next visit. The hotel was just average. Food, staff, cleanliness and everything was average. No food after 930 so one has to wait till 730 am to eat which isnt a plus. Bottles water is 3 bucks. No activities basically except extra charge tours. Rather boring if not for the nice beach and hot sun which New York, where I'm from, has in the summer.

I had not been to Jamaica for 28 years. Therefore, when I made the reservation I did not know what to expect of the Shaw Park Hotel. I was very pleased with my stay. The Private Beach was awesome. COmpared to others we stayed, all inclusive is available part of the time. Bars close for the night, there is late night snacks or grill, Alcohol avlable 11 am to 10pm. Tried often to get a Pina Colada, last attemp got a poor sbstitute. Dining area service was excellent. I suppose for the price would be ok on a big budget

This lovely place is tucked away from the commercialism touristy stuff. You will not be harassed by hawkers while staying here. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. Get to know them. They seem genuinely interested in getting to know you. The hotel itself is aging and needs some maintenance. Book your trip early and get a room as close to the front […] desk as possible. These rooms are the best! Never had a problem with hot water except for the one day the main water line broke to the entire hotel. The AC in the room wouldn't get below 78 until I fixed it. Luckily I own a HVAC company and knew how to put the cooling valves in bypass mode. After that, no problem man! If you are looking for a night life, this is not really the place for you. They have a disco straight out of the 70's. We made it our own and kept ourselves entertained until the wee hours of the morning partying with the bartender Willy. The beach bar closes at 11 but Willy and Smiley will make every moment worth it. The entertainment director does the best he can with the limited resources he is given. Drunken karaoke was hilarious late at night. During the high season, all beach and water activities and equipment are available. As for other means of entertainment, it is readily available from pretty much anyone. Just feel your way out and keep it on the DL if you buy from hotel staff. This hotel has not been maintained over the years. The driveway was overgrown on both sides of the road. Once we arrive (~7:30 pm) to check-in, the lounge area was dark and no other guests were around. Our room was decent, but we had no hot water the first night, and the cable reception was horrible. There was no concierge on site and was told that […] she didn't arrive before 3pm. We later found that we couldn't book most excursions, due to the minimum number of people required. As we continued our stay, we found that most of the All-Inclusive amenities were not available( spa, fitness center, etc).This was the worst vacation experience I have ever had.
