Positives: The breakfast was very good. The staff was nice and helpful. It was close to the tram (25 or the 4 takes you to Dam Square or Centraal Station). There is an elevator. I booked the Linda Hotel during Queen's Day, which is probably the busiest time of the year to be in Amsterdam. We just needed a room with 3 beds and an internet connection, so there was little choice left. We paid an outrageous price for this 2 star hotel, which offers just basic services, a decent breakfast, a flaky internet connection (that you pay […] separately) and super steep stairs. On the good side, its position is wonderful, close to transportation and various attraction. This was my second stay at the Hotel Linda and I was pleased to find myself in a better room this time. The Hotel is on the outer of the inner canals and close enough to the city center to be conveinient. The No 4 and 25 trams stop a few yards from the hotel and the museums and Heineken Experience are within easy walking distance. The Linda is a little basic (no tea making in the rooms or room service, although in-room breakfasts can be arranged) It is also popular with back packing overnighters who can be a little noisy. The Hotel is a little bit shabby in places but bathrooms were clean, linen was fresh and the breakfast room spotless. The only downside during my stay was the building work going on there during the week. I could happlly have given being woken by " Sammy Skiploader" at 7.30am a miss. That said my stay was pleasant and relaxed and I would definately return there. If you want somewhere to rest your head while you explore the great city of Amsterdam you could do worse than the Hotel Linda for the price. Read more

Hotel was not that great even for a 3 star - given a room which basically hadn't had any of its sheets/pillows changed as admitted by the staff. Got a room change to a miniature still dirty version. Asked for the pillows to be changed, got given "new" pillow cases. Had to change ourselves and one pillow was filthy that a quarter of it was stained with […] what seemed like dried up blood. Guarantee sheets/pillows were not changed for 4 days stay - I even tested this theory out by leaving indicative dirt on my bed - I so don't mind that because its my filth but thinking that the initial cleaning was non existence still makes me sick. Finally other issue for me was the hair dryer - so weak - would not recommend as I have big hair and it was winter in Amsterdam - so made it difficult to go out with wet hair as I would get an illness. Terrible parking rutines. When we wanted our car, the portier gave us the keys to all cars in the parking lot, to move the cars out self, to get our cars out. Who's responsibility is it if we damaged a car? Or if another gust damaged our car during moving of it? One of the beds where broken, if you sat on the side of the bed it flipped.

So, i used a table in the room - with a towel from bathroom, it was at this point i noticed the towel had a red stain on it, looked like makeup or something Bought the 24hrs wireless access - useless, kept dropping, and slow when it did connect. dont buy. Worst experience I've had at any hotel, hostels provide better service. Unclean room - but surprisingly i got a good sleep. Be careful! This is not a Hotel, but a HOSTEL, and they even have dorms! Do not stay there if you are looking for a place to relax after one day sightseeing. This hotel was not great. I was given a ground level hotel room with a window that opened onto a parking lot. So much for being able to leave the window open, which would have been very convenient considering that beside my room, in the hallway, was a toilet/bathroom that smelled terrible. Stayed here for 4 nights, perfectly acceptable hotel for the price, fresh towels everyday clean and tidy. Breakfast was good and plenty to go at. Le personnel parle l'anglais évidemment et des boissons chaudes sont proposées gratuitement et à volonté dans le hall de l'hôtel, bien agréable. Le design des chambres est très moderne. Tyvärr pågick ombyggnad varför gården där man parkerar bestod mest av bråte. Rummen halft renoverade. Nytt badrum. Små rum med hopp-plock av möbler som inte alla var så fräscha. Ok sängar. Kändes att man jobbade på att förbättra standarden på hotellet. Tråkigt frukostrum där allt var framdukat först en halvtimme efter öppnandet. Trevlig personl.

Efter att ha beställt 2 dubbelrum med toalett och dusch på rummet fick vi rum båda utan toa och dusch på rummet. Vi fick byta dessa mot vad vi beställt utan större problem. Dock var ett av de nya rummen för rökare men vi kunde godta detta då röklukten inte var alltför besvärande. Frukost ingick och den var alldeles utmärkt. Parkeringsplats fanns på […] baksidan av hotellet, inhägnat låst, kostnad 25 euro/dygn. Läge utmärkt, nära till gamla stan samt många matställen i närheten. Over het algemeen een rook- en wietlucht overal in het hotel. Bed sliep wel goed. Parkeermogelijkheid ook erg fijn. Ontbijt prima, had een broodrooster bij gekund! Erg geschrokken de volgende dag toen bleek dat Duitse overnachters op het hotelterreien er achter kwamen dat er ingebroken was in hun auto, met kapotte ruiten en vermiste spullen.
