This is a typical basic hotel with clean rooms, comfortable beds, and free but minimal selection continental breakfast. Sound insulation is lacking as I can […] hear people talking at normal voice level early in the morning. I was on the fourth floor and the voices sound like they were from people outside walking on the ground floor. This could be a problem at night if you are trying to sleep and there are people up late. During our stay, we noticed they were making upgrades, including a large delivery of new mattresses. There are not many hotel choices in the area, so this is probably the best you might get. Read more

The hotel is doing what it can considering the age of the building and the economy in Oil City. Furniture, paint, bedding, mattresses and pillows all new. So is the tub surround and vaniety countertops. Not sure you can change the biggest issue. The HVAC system. The smell is 60 years of dirt and smoke.

It was nice, clean and convenient to my route of travel. At the desk the manager checked me in with a smile and a warm, welcoming attitude. She gave me my room number and told me, with a note of cheer, that i was, "Facing the river"! Unfortunately the river's view was blocked by the wall of the 2nd floor walkway. This motel was quite adequate for an over night stay. It is very clean and the staff is very nice. The breakfast bar was not quite adequate. Only had bread items. The Torrinos Restaurant onsite there serves really good food, and the waitress was very good. The kitchen can be slow though.

Reminded me of a motel from the 50s. The bed was too soft, the bottom sheet would not stay fitted to the bed. Roome was cramped.

Resturant service was bad. They were short staffed and unprepared to serve The watress was very nice and did her best. The kitchen was more than slow. I arrived at 6pm , dinner came at 6:50. The room was excellent. My sister is disabled and they were very accomodating to her. Made sure every thing was perfect for her stay. She hasn't been over night in a hotel for 20 years so it was a wonderful treat for her. The room was clean, there were plenty of towels and it was great having a frig and microwave. I stayed at Americas Best Value Inns in several cities in the past and wasn't that impressed with the condition and quality of the hotels, but after reading some of the recent reviews about new management and pretty decent reviews I decided to give this hotel a chance. The location is city centre which is convenient if location is important to you. […] I felt very safe at this hotel. Oil City is not very big and seems pretty quiet anyway. A McDonalds is next door but there is an Italian restaurant on the premises but I did not check that out. Plenty of free parking. The management staff were very pleasant, professional and polite and helpful. the room was spacious, pretty clean carpet. Clean linens. clean bathroom. Decent toiletries were provided. Coffee maker in room. Safe in room. Microwave and fridge in room. good selection of TV channels. The complimentary breakfast was more than adequate. Muffins, English muffins, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, waffles ( I love the waffle maker!!!), Juices, coffee, hot chocolate, donuts. It's the only game in town, and it's inexpensive. The appointments are a bit dated, but the paint appeared fresh (wet paint signs in the hallways). A little dirt was smeared all along the edge of the tub as though someone had put their feet there and forgot to wipe it off. The linens were worn, but clean. While you can't argue with the price that you will pay for a room at this hotel, you pretty much get what you pay for. It's like the 60's called and they want their hotel back. The lobby is a joke and smelled weird, the elevators were loud. For most of the rooms, you have to walk outside along a balcony to get to the room and I saw a huge bug which […] I had to squash before my wife would start walking towards our room. There is one window and if you leave it open, anyone who walks by would see right in and I didn't dare leave it open because I would have looked out at a disgusting looking window that looks like it wasn't cleaned in years. The mattress on the bed was so old and had no firmness and neither did the pillows and I got little sleep as I was up most of the night and woke up with a stiff back. There were stains on the walls, the light next to the bed was not working. It did have a pool, but most of the chairs were dirty and there were no towels provided. The breakfast was OK with some bagels, english muffins, and do it yourself waffles, but it was set up and run by the guy who checks you in. The area near the hotel seemed to be a hangout for teenagers and the other people who stayed at the hotel had no problems rolling in around midnight and being loud and yelling down to the parking lot. I felt like it was one of those hotels where you take a hooker or someone hides out in. It's sad that I could have paid 15-20 dollars more and stayed in a bed and breakfast and got a great sleep and quality breakfast. Bottom line, if you are cheap and don't give a crap about staying in a dump, then by all means, stay here, if not go out and pay the extra 10-15 dollars and stay in a better place in Franklin or somewhere else, you'll be glad you did. The staff is certainly nice enough but you can tell some updates are in order before you enter the hotel just by looking at the curtains in the lobby window. Room/bedding was clean which was my biggest concern. Included continental breakfast which I didn't have time for. For one night at a good rate, it was okay.

I have only one negative thing to say about this hotel. I was told there was a continental breakfast available, but when I stepped into the restaurant area all I saw was 2 loaves of bread and a toaster. It was clean but looked like some place a drug dealer would have stayed the bed was ok not even close to a descent pillow I have slept on better pieces of concert not enough towels for two people also front window only being covered my a blanket blind not good at all any one could have looked in and seen what ever they wanted to o yeah the door frame […] was questionable at best if you tried hard enough you could have taken the door out and taken what ever you want the tv was possessed and would turn off. good points mini fridge and a microwave and good price compared to others in area (theres only one) with breakfast still the little things seem to be missing and would have gone a long way to make the stay better.
