"close to sights/shopping"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We loved it - great location, staff and breakfast. Lovely, large second floor room.
"Comfort and a warm fireplace"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We had been having a lot of rain and really just wanted to go home! But upon checking into The Hotel, we were so comforted by the staff, especially Tasha and her tour of the lovely amenities. She served us drinks and made us comfortable in front of the warm fireplace and we said "Ahhh". The room was large with a lovely view, the bed very comfortable and the dinner superb. The staff did everything they could to make our stay wonderful, thanks, we'll be back!
"Nice Place"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The Hotel was clean and comfortable. Wi-Fi was free in the lobby. It was a short walk from where the airport bus dropped us off and shopping/restaurants. Most of the tourist spots are a bit farther, but still very walkable.
"Good Value"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The Ardmore is a clean, modern hotel that has power showers and staff that are friendly. The food served is well prepared and affordable. For the money it can't be beat, but if you want nice pillows, soft towels& cozy bedding then you should spend the extra money to get them. Those of us who prefer value over the little "extras" would love this hotel. The 15 minute bus ride into downtown wasn't bad unless you JUST missed the bus and have to wait another twenty minutes to get on. It is a great location for a first night into Dublin or your last because it is only 15 minutes to the airport!
"Wonderful hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
The westbury is a great hotel, very clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. I absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to travel to Dublin soon!

Leafy Ballsbridge is a quiet and exclusive residential area, a 20-30 minute walk into town (served by frequent buses). The Grand Canal flows through it, and while much of this waterway is less than grand, there is a pleasant stretch near the Richmond Street bridge with canal-side pubs. George Bernard Shaw’s birthplace is a popular neighbouring attraction.

A very charming small hotel in the southwest part of Dublin. Staff were always friendly and helpful, breakfast was great. It is on a quiet street of brick townhouses. Finding it the first time was a challenge because Dublin is lacking in street signs- you never know what street you are on! It is one block from the sports stadium. It's a fairly long […] walk from the hotel to downtown, but the Dart train stop is one block away. You can take it to Trinity College and walk from there (1.65 euros; 2 stops) I would definitely stay here again. Read more
"Sweet brick B&B"
We had a lovely weekend at Ariel House. The room was comfortable, the breakfast delicious, and the staff friendly. Would definitely return!
"good, but flawed"
The staff at Ariel are excellent. My experience is related to room 236 (lower floor), which I want to warn other prospective guests about. 1) Creaking floor sounds from the guests in the room above are so intrusive, that I literally woke up after an exhausting day, thinking someone was standing right next to my bed. 2) The toilet would not flush properly, […] unless you waited and tried it ten times in ten minutes, for a successful flush. This happened every day for our three day stay. Consider yourself warned, about room 236! Read more

"Ariel House in Dublin- A great find!"
Great location, wonderful staff, excellent breakfast and warm, cozy, clean rooms. Close to the DART train and buses. We highly recommend this hotel. Can't wait to return to Dublin and the Ariel House!
"Cute inn but location was lacking"
Ariel house was cute and romantic but was far away if you were trying to see Dublin's main attractions. Breakfast was great and a traditional Irish breakfast. I would recommend this inn to people staying on leisure trip and not quick stop tour of the city.
"Ariel House"
This is a wonderful hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed for 11 days and by the end of our visit it seemed like we were coming home when we returned to the hotel. It is well situated near a DART station and one can be downtown in 5-7 minutes. We appeciated the more residential location because it was quiet. We ran into travellers […] who stayed in the Temple Bar area who said they couldn't sleep at night for all the noise. We would definitely stay at Ariel House again on our next trip and highly recommend it to others. Read more

"Hospitality and Elegance at its best!"
We arrived in Dublin early Monday morning before checking in at the Ariel House. Once we found our way through the Dublin streets we were greeted by a charming, over 200 year old house in the Ballsbridge community of Dublin. The location was literally right next to the Avia Stadium which made finding our way back easier. Our room was absolutely spectacular […] with a view of the garden and a large and spacious area with a large tub and separate shower. The breakfast the next morning was lovely and worth staying for. The attendant were especially helpful. Dedra (the attendant) helped another guest and us with recommendations for other locations to stay for the remainder of our trip. After following her recommendations we were not in the least disappointed. The service alone would be enough for a high recommendation. Our only disappointment was arriving their on our first day and only getting to stay for one night, while also fighting some serious jet lag. Read more
"Great Experience"
We were extremely pleased with our stay at Ariel House. They were only a 3 minute walk from the DART station and welcomed us with "tea in the drawing" upon our arrival as well as the morning we checked out to leave. They were very helpful and friendly and the room was comfortable and clean. We would love to go back and stay with them again!
"The Ariel was a great place to stay"
The staff was so helpful. It was raining when we arrived and fortunately we were able to park next to a locked entrance to the ground floor which our room was on. The staff opened the door so we could just walk in. The main entrance had steep stairs going up and then we would had to have gone back down. We were also able to leave early through the same […] entrance. It was a walk to the main area but it was well worth the walk for the quality of the hotel. Read more
"Decent Hotel"
Not too expensive, compared to some of the other hotels in the area. It's an old hotel, so a lot of furniture, etc. is old, but not too bad.
"Ariel House in Dublin, Ireland-comfort and helpful"
We loved Ariel House. We felt lke we were staying in someone's lovely home and were treated like welcome friends. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They even made homemade hot chocolate for us one night that they serverd in the beautiful living room. The breakfast room was lovely and the food delicious. It's in a nice quiet neighborhood, but […] only 3 subway steps from Dublin center. Perfect! Read more
"Aerial Guest House-Dublin"
There was never hot water. We stayed there for a week and had cold showers every day. They were cold in the morning, evening, and late night. I dont know if it is just that hard to heat the water, or if it gets used up way too quickly, but that is the only downside of our stay.
"Crowne Plaza in Dublin great place to stay"
We had a beautiful room at the Crowne Plaza. If you want to save money as we did, it is close to bus service to central Dublin with very regular service.

"Ariel House - Exceptional staff, lovely location"
The hotel is located along a beautiful historic tree lined street of mansions. Though the building is clean, spacious, and charming, what really make this a wonderful place to stay are the staff members. The receptionist in particular was much more of a gracious host/concierge arranging afternoon tea, travel arrangements and making excellent dinner […] recommendations. We found the location to be very convenient and extremely safe (in fact we walked all the way back from the Guinness Factory on the other end of town!). The only complaint I could possibly have is that our room was downstairs in a new addition erected in the backyard, so whilst clean and spacious it felt at times a bit cool and did not have the same charm as a room in the main house would have. Then again for the price I really can't argue! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to spend a weekend (or a week) in Dublin. Read more
"Guest House - good stay"
We stayed at the Ariel Guest House earlier in the year and found it to be a very pleasant stay. The staff were very hospitable and helpful. Someone was always at the front desk. I was a little disappointed that upon checkout, we found out that we had the breakfast each day at a cost (this was probably my own fault for not looking it up ahead of time), […] but it was quite pricey. We were not leaving Dublin until later that day, so the hotel gave us a number for a taxi to take us to the airport that we could call later on. The guest house is a little bit of a walk from the main attractions of Dublin, but it is in a beautiful neighborhood and we did not mind the walk as the weather was fantastic. Overall a great stay for the price and we would consider staying here again in the future. Read more

"Within walking distance of all puplic transport."
Friendly home from home with excellent breakfast. No complaints usual good service from all staff. Will stay again
"Excellent Value for Money"
Hotel is kind of outdated, but they are trying to remodel some of the rooms. My room has a new decor in the bathroom, but unfortunately the shower flow is very slow. Service is excellent, however. Every staff member is very polite and helpful. Internet access is free (login required), but if your connection is left idle for a certain amount of time, […] it will timeout and you'd have to re-enter password. Surrounding area doesn't have good restaurants or supermarket. However, walk 10 minuts up to Bath st. or 20 minutes to Baggot st. and you'll find decent restaurants and supermarkets. Read more
"Ariel Guest House in Dublin Ireland"
Had a 'Home' feeling...it felt like we were visiting family that we hadn't met before. The staff were excellent...very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. I highly recommend Ariel House to travelers who would like to have an 'authentic' Ireland experience. I will gladly be back to spend another week at the Ariel Guest House!
"One of Dublin's best guest houses"

"Best Hotel in Dublin"
I cannot say enough about this hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff would bend over backwards to help us and go out of their way to cater for our personal needs. The rooms were very pleasant, very clean with all amenities. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends and am certain that if we return to Dublin, that we wont look […] anywhere else. Thank you for making our trip to Dublin for Valentines day extra special. Read more
"Ariel House - A Weekend Drinkers Review"
We arrived on some silly early flight so got to the hotel hours before check-in. They cleaned the room right away, only took 30min and whilst we waited had complementary tea, scone and maltloaf. 24hr reception was brilliant as we came and went as we pleased (without having to carry a key around) and staff were always polite and knowledgeable. Hotel […] is a bit out the centre (but then the map tells you that before you book it), although the dart station is a minutes walk that takes you right to the centre (although we walked as we wanted to see the surrounding area). Local pub as brilliant, friendly and great atmosphere. Was a little on the pricy side (pub not the hotel) but then again I'm used to cheap beer in the East Midlands, was average Dublin price. Would recommend to anyone wanting to go to Dublin and will be going back in the future. Read more
"Exceptional hospitality & amazing brekafast!"
My husband took me away to Dublin for the Valentines weekend and we stayed at the Ariel Guest House. The place was conveniently located, right next to the DART station and 2 stops away from Tara Station which took us to Temple Bar and all the sights in the city and a short walk from the Airc Coach stop which took us to and from the airport. The rooms […] were well decorated and spacious and the staff were very friendly! We had their famous breakfast on both days and it was absolutely delicious as was their complementary fresh cakes and biscuits that they set out for all guests. We had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend this guest house and would definitely stay there again. Read more
"Perfect place to stay"
This is a small hotel in a Victorian terrace house close to both the bus and to the train. There is a huge lounge with a fire and 24 hour supply of tea or coffee and cake. Friendly staff on the desk at all times. Great breakfast. Free Irish Times ( a great newspaper). We loved it.
"Ariel House, Friendly staff"
Stayed one night on business, comfortable big room. Winter night outside but nice warm room. Friendly staff. Good value for money.
"Lovely stay"
Ariel House is an absolutely beautiful Guest House. We were so happy with our room. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, and there was cake available in the guest lounge every afternoon! It's slightly further out of the city centre than we expected, at around a 40 minute walk to Grafton Street, but there is a bus that can get you there quickly. […] It's also a good starting point to explore the Docklands area, and the Aviva Stadium is less than 5 minutes walk away. Would absolutely recommend to anyone planning to go to Dublin. Read more
Very clean, comfortable, nice place to stay. Very friendly staff. Some shops and places to eat nearby. If you like walking, 15-20 min to the centre.

Lovely small Victorian Hotel with nice comfortable roomsand close to the trains. Laundry service was good and reasonable. I would stay here again.
"Ariel House - a great hotel with wonderful service"
This hotel was wonderful to stay in. The service was excellent and the hotel itself was well kept and clean. It is conveniently located only a few footsteps away from the train station and only a 20 or so minute walk away from the city centre. Would certainly recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Dublin for a few nights.
"Good area in which to stay"
Ariel Guesthouse was the ideal choice for our stay in Dublin. The staff are friendly and the property is well appointed. The surrounding area is lovely and just a short walk from Merrion Square. An added bonus is the houses close proximity to the Aviva Stadium for all those Rugby fans. Highly recommended.
"Ariel hotel in Dublin"
A great boutique hotel in a lovely area with surrounding Georgian homes. We had a lovely large room with canopy bed overlooking the street. Staff very helpful and the breakfast fantastic. A lovely 20 min walk into city. A great find.
Very nice hotel, great location, no noise. Would recommend it.
"Ariel House - Guest House"
The pictures on the website make it look far better than it is...clean etc but certainly worn out & passed its used by date...a previously stately manor that has seen better days. Furniture very old with very creaky floor boards. Staff very helpful and did their best to welcome us...

"Excellent location, Ariel House"
Great location for the RDS and Dublin generally as so close to DART. Very friendly staff and rooms as you would expect them to be. I'll stay there again...
"Ariel House, Dublin, Ireland"
Our stay was great! The hotel was very impressive for the price and breakfast was delicious and plentiful (an additional charge). The staff was very helpful and the area around the hotel was very nice. We ate at a great restaurant in the area recommended by the staff. We will definitely return and recommend to friends and family.
"Great hotel - would love to stay here again"
We stayed at the Ariel Guest House over New Year. The hotel is an enjoyable 1-2 mile walk from the main sights of dublin. All of the main tours have a pick up point just round the corner of the hotel, and the buses are easy to use if you dont want to walk. Service at the hotel was fantastic, and the recent water restrictions in Ireland didnt affect […] us. - The hotel had lots of bottled water to compensate for the cold tap in the sink being shut off at certain times of the day. There was always plenty of hot/cold water for the shower. Staff at reception couldnt be happier to help us and advice us on transport and sights to see, places to eat. Our booking didnt include breakfast at the hotel. The hotel has a very fancy breakfast room and full menu on offer for 11 Euros per person. The breakfast was amazing and well worth the money. We wouldnt have had it since we were saving money for extra drinks at the pubs but the hotel offered complimentary breakfast (+ sparkling wine) on New Year's Day - a very nice touch, and great hang over cure! Thank you for a great stay and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this hotel Read more
"Ariel House Ballsbridge"
This is an excellent guest house, and I would highly recommend a visit. My parents were visiting Ireland during some of the worst winter weather ever seen in the country, and were lucky to even arrive in Dublin! Once at Ariel house, they were treated very well indeed: the whole house was kept very warm, the food was great and the staff were both friendly […] and helpful. Mum and Dad particularly liked the complimentary mince pies and tea which they were served on several occasions- just the thing for keeping out the cold! They loved it, and fully intend to return there for another stay once the weather improves. If you want somewhere warm, quiet, comfortable and friendly then this place is perfect- and only 2 mins walk from the Dart to get into town :-) Read more
"Ariel Guest House - close to rail and bus links."
Two minutes from the Lansdown Road Dart Rail station which allows cheap travel up and down the coast. Ariel Guest House is an old victorian building in an attractive residential area, close to the new Aviva Rugby Stadium. Reception organised a guided tour of the stadium which was well worth taking. Nothing was too much trouble for the reception staff, […] that helped make our stay very successful. The Guest House itself is starting to show its age, and decoration is starting to look a little 'tatty' around the edges. Low energy bulbs provide insufficent light in the rooms. Radiators failed to keep us warm enough, but this was quickly put right with the addition of an electric heater. Any negatives were far outweighed by the good value and well run guest house. "Ariel Guest House in Dublin- close to city centre"
The guest house was beautiful! Internet was included in the price. Location very close to the DART line, which took us to the City Centre.
