I have been all around the world and stayed at many hotels. But this one honestly felt like home. It was extremely clean, very hospitable, staff counldnt be more nice and helpful. Our room was spotless, and I am a clean freak. Im usually very cautious when I enter a room to get a "feel" of how clean it is, and this one was great. I didnt even place […] a piece of my clothing on the pillow before sleeping which I usually do at hotels. I also usually clean the bathroom before using it but didnt feel i needed to this time either! We had car trouble the first morning, and the staff jumped our car. My 1 year old was feeling restless in the lobby so they brought her a brand new toy to play with from there gift shop, they supplied my grandmother with a wheel chair in and out of the hotel, late check out because our flight was in the evening.... all free of charge. Fresh baked yummy cookies greeted us every night on our way to our rooms, and the complimentary tea and coffee selection in the lobby was very convenient. Overall our stay was fantastic and for a fantastic rate! All my Detroit area stays will be with them from now on. Read more

It was just fabulous having dinner in the "Lodge" Monday through Thursday, along with wine and beer! The daily hot breakfasts were great, too! Fresh cookies every evening at the front desk, as well as a bowl of fruit! (Yes, we like to eat!) Stayed for three nights while visiting from NJ for a family wedding in Detroit, and although it was a bit of a drive to downtown where event was & relatives live, travel was quick (about 20 min. drive) & this Homewood Suites was a terrific choice! Other out-of-town family stayed also. Staff was unfailingly courteous, rooms were spacious, well-equipped […] & very clean, and all the "extras" included (really nice hot & cold breakfast buffet every morning, free WiFi, kitchen setup in each suite, nonstop coffee in lobby, etc.) made this a real bargain. We weren't there for the hot dinners that are apparently also available Mon.-Thurs. evenings, but if breakfast is any indication, it would be yet another incentive to choose this place. This was the 6th year we have stayed at this Hotel for Christmas. We had moved away for the area but always come back to spend Christmas with the family, we typically have 4 rooms for our family. This hotel is pretty the same as other Homewood Suites I have stayed in. The biggest problem was the shower. The shower head was mounted about an inch away from the ceiling. Can't say enough good things about our recent stay. I will definitely seek out other Homewood Suites when planning trips. The room was very nice. Roomy and comfortable, nice touches like a bag of microwave popcorn. Was surprised that the suite even had a dishwasher. The Homewood suites was a surprisingly good value with free weekday dinner and free daily breakfast. A nice pool and gym was a plus. If the location works for you I highly recommend it. We did have a problem with the toilet but it was promptly fixed and a free chocolate bar was left,which thrilled my son!

Family members from far and wide stayed here for a weekend memorial service nearby. The staff was so lovely in letting us take over the large breakfast dining area in the evenings so we could all socialize with each other. We all had a wonderful, memorable weekend because of it. For those who are not sensitive to air quality, this is the hotel for you. For those of you who have children with asthma, this is definitely not the hotel for you. We actually were supposed to stay three nights, and on the evening of the third night we decided we needed to leave due to a few factors. First, the room was rather dusty. It was clean […] and orderly, however dust is not good if you are sensitive to air quality. Second, the room's central air had an odor to it that further decreased the overall air quality in the room. These two conditions created a frightening problem with my two year old daughter. We were forced to stay for two nights due to a job interview I had on the second day of our stay, however on the day of my interview, my daughter began refusing food and any liquids. Her asthma became almost uncontrollable, and my wife and I were scared we would have to admit her to a hospital. Since we were from NY and staying in a hotel in Michigan, we hated this thought. We made the decision to leave early, and as soon as we left the hotel, my daughter's condition improved. She began letting us feed her and drinking from her sippies, albeit in small amounts. Also, she began having less asthma attacks as we made our travel back home. I feel that without our children there, we would not have had any issues with the hotel. However, this was not the case since we traveled as a family. The atmosphere is not suitable for anyone with sensibility to air quality issues, and I would seriously consider a different hotel if I knew about this issue when I made our reservations. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was to be expected for a continental breakfast. Parking was trustworthy for those wanting to keep their vehicles in nice shape. The staff were all extremely courteous and helpful particularly the front desk young woman who took time to print and discuss maps of the area with me. Room was lovely and bed very comfortable. The hotel is tucked away and difficult to find if you are new to town but worth the hunt because it is close to Birmingham and Somerset Mall in Troy.

Excellent staff, clean room. Decent restaurants right around the corner, and all for a great price! I would stay here again and suggest to anyone! But, if you're taking a cab anywhere in the surrounding area, be sure to allow for a 1/2 hour wait.

We were very happy with our hotel stay. The room was VERY nice. The pool area had a lot of hair on the floor which was gross to me. Also, the front desk person told me the money for possible damages that was taken off my credit card would be back on it in 1 to 2 days, but it wasn't. I got a great value on this hotel; the hotel was very spacious, the rooms were beautiful, and I feel I got a great value for my money. The staff is very friendly and helpful, that includes house keeping, maintence and all the rest. The Breakfast in the morning works, if your in a rush are not and there is a variety to choose from. And if you can't get there in time to join in, they will make you a plate and […] leave it in your refridgerator in your room, so you have something to eat if your not up to cooking and you didn't eat out. Which is very cool, if your there on Business. And you also get wine are beer to choose from, which is nice. Workout room, Swimming pool and Laundry all serve the purpose and the outside setting is nice too! Only draw back is location of the Ice Machines and the one elevator that serves the entire Hotel, you can do some walking to get to them. The little Troy Airport is not noisy and not real busy except on Game Day. I enjoyed seeing the planes come and go and I saw a young family staying at the Hotel, standing at the fence watching and entertaining there kids as the planes took off on Game Day. I recommend the Hotel and if you like to shop, this is your Mecca. High end at the Oakland Mall. Costco is 4 miles away. And all the regular stores are less than a Half Mile of the Hotel.
