Cave Run Lake area is absolutely beautiful. It was the closest hotel to where we wanted to be. It was a very nice room,comfortable bed. Had a clean fridge and microwave that we managed to use. Friendly staff upon arrival. Place is convenient off the interstate and a nice clean room. Just be aware to get a good meal (dinner) one needs to drive about 5 miles east to the next exit to find restaurants. Breakfast provided a good selection. Computers in the business office for the guests were extremely slow.

We needed a hotel for a band trip to Morehead State Univ. This was a great alternative to the Hampton and HIE in Morehead. Those hotels were closer but sold out and more costly even if a room did open up. My only advice is that if you want a snack grab it next door at the gas/food mart before getting settled. Actually planned to stay in W Virginia but owing to power failures in the area and lack of hotel vacancies, needed to find on the spot a new place to stay. Kudos to Hotel.com for finding us the closest available room in Kentucky and getting us booked. Room was decent, no frills, continental breakfast was fine. The hotel was clean and friendly. Gave us extra blankets/pillows to make a bed for our 2 kids no questions. Breakfast was fine. Room was fine, small with few extras, but we checked in at 11:30 and left by 8:30 so what could we need?

Passing through the area, right off interstate. Don't expect to eat nearby. Will have to get back on interstate and go to next exit a few miles down the road. Drinks are expensive go next door to BP cheaper there. Rooms clean and nice desk clerk.

A non-smoking room doesn't mean a non-smoking floor. Exit the elevator onto the third floor is like walking into an ashtray. Apparently the vacuum is broken. A warning sign threatening to charge a customer for taking a ratty, worn, nasty bath towel. The place keeps getting worse and worse and worse...

Ya know, it's a Comfort Inn Morehead, Kentucky. Whaddya expect? Been staying in Morehead a bazallion times over the past 7 years and I can emphatically state that there is no good place to stay in that entire town--inlcuding this place. Ash can on the side was overflowing with trash when we checked in on Friday afternoon and was still overflowing when […] we left on Monday morning. Room was stuffy and humid when we arrived. Really got a kick out of the sign in the bathroom threatening to charge a fee to anyone who stole their worn out and ratty towels. Housekeeping knocking on the door Saturday morning at 8 freakin' o'clock in the morning. Common sense and common courtsey ain't so common. Read more

This was an excellent hotel for the money. Keep in mind that if you want something to eat other than delivery pizza or Subway, there's absolutely nothing "near" this hotel but there are quite a few decent restaurants a five mile drive east on I-64. This is only a 2 star motel. The desk people were always very polite and answered questions before they were asked. The room was very clean, the pillows and bed comfortable. There was a large fridge, that was quiet. Our room was less than 100 yards from the interstate and we did not hear any traffic noise. The breakfast was continental and the area […] was very clean. This is not a resort, but a place to sleep, have a bite and continue on your way. What they do, they do very well and politely. I called a couple of times prior to the visit to discuss small pet policies and all people were very friendly and kind on the phone. Read more

I would recommend this hotel, because it was a good value, but when I checked in they tried to charge me more than what was quoted by hotels.com. They did change it immediately, but then they charged me the higher rate. I had to get a refund on my credit card when I checked out.

It's a short drive, but still a drive to Morehead. Finding a restaurant open that is not a chain after 2:00 PM on Saturday is non-existant other than a Mexican Restaruant on Main Street. It too was closed on Monday, the July 4th observed holiday. Though my husband said that the food is authentic when he had dinner there in the past. Sorry, I can't remember […] the name. Morehead State University's Golf Course may have been better had there been rain in the last month. The grass was burned and the ground was like a rock - only greens had been watered. Read more
