Hotel badly run down and in desperate need of modernisation. Staff in bar and dining room although friendly, lacked experience which resulted in a mix up over the order. Breakfast was most enjoyable. Location of Hotel was excellent and although next to the railway station we were not disturbed by noise.

The hotel is generally sympathetically restored and we eventually had a good room. However we were allocated a smoking room when we had booked a non-smoking and were told that was the only double left . The room stank and was connected by a thin door to a single where you could over hear every word being spoken , so when the occupant left the television on all night we were forced to change rooms 3 am. Noise from the drunks at the taxi rank outside also kept us awake.

VERY limited parking so be prepared for a fair walk with your suitcase. My room had coombed ceilings, to get to the wardrobe, t.v, kettle or desk you had to duck. (Which I kept forgetting to do !) Very uncomfortable bed. Not a hotel that I would go back to.

Not a bad hotel, just dated, in need of some updates. Must have been a grand lady back in the day. Breakfast buff. was just average, staff not very attentive, wouldn't eat there again unless included with hotel stay. Very convenient location in downtown area, immediately adjacent to train station and across the street from Victoria Market and other numerous shops and restaurants.

This is the smallest, most expensive one nights accomodation we have had in the 3 weeks we have spent in the UK. The room was extremely small with part of the ceiling sloping away. The bathroom was in similar proportin to the bedroom, small!. The wi-fi signal didn't work and when I contacted the reception, I was told that our floor didn'thave good reception and that I would be better off coming to the ground floor reception area ad using it there. On the positive, the room was clean and tidy.

The hotel is literally right there when you exit the train station. And it is only a block from the nightlife and restaurant areas. It's within walking distance to lots of the sites in Inverness and the bus station (in case you go on a Loch Ness Tour). Also, the ladies at the front desk went above and beyond to help me find a place to eat and book a trip to Loch Ness!

This is clearly an older hotel which once top class but now looks slightly shabby in places. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was great. Parking is a bit of an issue with only 9 spaces outside the hotel and no free parking in the centre of town that we could find. We were directed to a multi-story carpark that charged just £3 for 24 hours though which isn't too bad.

Sign in bathroom 'Take care hot towel rail'. But it did not work at all. Hotel staff ordered a new part but it was too late for us. Window frame in the bathroom was rotting. Wallpaper peeling off the wall in the corridor outside the room. A hotel with fading elegance. Be nicer when it has had some tlc. However the staff were great and so was the food. Car parking is very limited but local multi storey is reasonably priced.

We stayed one night after arriving in Inverness on the overnight sleeper train from London. The hotel is right next door to the train station, which was great when we showed up sleep-deprived at 8 am. We were even able to check in immediatly upon arrival which was fantastic. All member sof the hotel staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful and gave us great help with finding our way around the town and with contacting a rental car company. Room was large and the bathroom was enormous and had a comfortable bathtub, which was great after travelling for 12 hours. Free wireless internet was much appreciated. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was enjyable as well. Location is great, and you can quickly walk down to the river or to the high street in just a few minutes. Highly reccommended overall!
