Skycity Darwin - The Gardens

We really enjoyed our stay and our room was great, the bed was a little stiff. We stayed in the Spa room with a king bed, the jet tub was great and the service was wonderful! I wouldn't pay that much for a room like that agian though.

Great hotel with a wonderful beach although it was not safe to go in the water because of the crocs and box jelly fish - but the view was outstanding. Hotel staff people were very helpful. Hotel security stored our hunting rifles in their gun safe so that we could comply with the laws while we were touring around. They even stored the guns for us while we went to Kakadu Park for two days.

The hotel was okay - but not worth the money. If the hotel was half the price, then this would have been a good review. However with the price we paid, I had higher expectations and this just did not meet that. We stayed in the main hotel. The new part looks great and probably with the price. But the main hotel was not.

The hotel had just completed a renovation and I thought the whole hotel had been restyled and upgraded. I was disappointed to find that we were to stay in the old part of the hotel for our 5 night stay... the room was tired and damp. I asked to upgrade or change but the hotel was full over the weekend so they could not accommodate our change... even […] thought we were to stay for 5 nights. The hotel location is great new spa, new pool, pool bar and faux beach are a great addition to the hotel. The biggest let down of all was the food….. We ate in some great restaurants in Darwin; Cha, Christo to name a few but the hotel food was really poor! It was a real shame as it meant every day we would head into town for breakfast or lunch just to be assured of a good coffee and something as simple as a sandwich. We have stayed at this hotel several times and every stay has been very enjoyable. The pool at Sky City is fantastic and this time we stayed it was even better as the sails were not over the pool because of the season and the water was delightful.

The room service is quick and superb. Excellent restaurants in the hotel. The room spa is very comfortable. Although i found a baby lizard in my bathroom, i consider it a pleasant experience coz it's very adorable. The only thing that bothers me is that i found a bug crawl into my bed at a very early morning.

This is very much a casino with a hotel attached, but the hotel is very good. Staff were helpful and attentive, and came to fix the air-conditioning problem with our room fairly promptly (though it required two phone calls to get it done).

The hotel has an old world charm, though superbly maintained and facilities are fist class. The inifinty edge swimmingpool overlooking the sea is top class! The complex boast several restaurants and the buffee is well worth it. My husband and i arrived at Sky City at about 1 am and were greeted by a lovely gentleman who opens the door for you. Check in was very quick. In the morning when we awoke we went for a walk to see the resort and all i could say was WOW, i was in heaven. We travel alot and have stayed at afew places but there was something special about the Sky city, […] with there spectactular views of the ocean, greenery and palm trees, you,ll feel like you are in Fiji. The location is perfect and only a twenty min walk to the city. Restaurants to choose from, and even a casino but we didnt go there, not into that . Coming from Melbourne (12 degrees) and going into Darwin (33 degrees) we just went to relax for a few days and it is the perfect place for that, with there perfect pool . I have already recommended this place to all my friends and family and i will definetly be back. Just like to say thank you for the gentleman who brang me a low pillow after housekeeping hours, which was around 9.30pm. Just came back from 3 nights at the Sky City and had a great time. At the end of a week long camping holiday the Sky city was the perfect way to unwind. Our room was spacious and modern, with a great balcony with views over Mindil Beach. The infinity pool was fantastic, and a great place to enjoy a cocktail or beer watching the sunset. Great restaurant […] - Il Piatto - great italian cusine and definately comparable to any of the top end restaurants in Aus. On Sundays a 5 minute stroll to the famous Mindil Beach markets. The service was excellent - we found the concierge and reception staff very helpful- We wanted to go on a fishing charter and the tour we were on cancelled on us at the last minute, I spoke to the concierge and he called over 10 different charters after hours until he managed to get us onto one. The charter by the way was awesome- caught some golden snapper and dhufish- YUM! Definately would go back - hopefully soon. Read more

c'est un hotel casino avec 5 restaurants, une piscine immense et une encore plus grande prévu pour mi 2012. l'hotel est trés bien situé, juste sur la plage de Mindli où se tient le marché du soir de Avril à Octobre. Les chambres sont confortable, même si lorsque l'on y était la connection internet n'a pas marché de la semaine.

Vi fikk et flott rom med havutsikt. Renholdet og romservicen var veldig bra. Vi likte oss veldig godt der, men kunne nok ønsket oss en liten restaurant i hotellet som ikke var tilknyttet kasinoet !! Ellers et topp hotell med flott svømmebasseng !!
