"They ran out of breakfast food"
We needed an inexpensive hotel that was a reasonable distance from 6 flags. We choose this hotel because of the free breakfast option. We went down for breakfast at 9:30 ( breakfast was from 7 to 10) and the only hot thing left was waffles. There was no coffee or tea. We all got a banana and then had to go out for breakfast. With a full hotel (which we had) the continental breakfast was poor. It was a very small space, lines were long and food was frequently gone. "Should Be Condemned"

The first night we had to park in the adjacent hotel's parking lot as we checked in around 8 P.M. and the bar and grill in this hotel must be the spot to watch Cardinals games in this neighborhood. "Nothing Like the Pictures"
When we arrived at the hotel, it was nothing like we expected from the pictures we saw. It looks run-down. Our door had to be shoved to get it to shut. "Find Someplace Else"
I arrived at the hotel at 2:40 PM and was informed that I could not check in until 3:00 PM so housekeeping could finish cleaning the rooms. As the check in time was 3:00 PM I understood and waiting the 20 minutes. At 3:00 PM I checked into the hotel with the front desk and was assigned to room 365. I took my luggage and went to the room only to find […] that it was dirty. The bed was stripped with the dirty linen in the chair and there was trash on the floor and counters. If the reason I could not check in early was for housekeeping I do not understand why I was put in a dirty room. I went back to the front desk and asked for another room. The clerk told me he would have housekeeping clean the room immediately and keep me there. I informed him that we had an event to get ready for and needed a room where we could do that. It took 40 minutes for me to be assigned to a new room. We were placed in room 308 and the condition of the room was very poor. The wall paper was peeling, the popcorn texture was falling off the ceiling, the carpet was torn, the floor was very uneven, and half of the shower faucet handle was missing. Because of a previous engagement and due to my earlier 40 minute wait I stayed in the room but if I could have gotten a refund, and had the time, I would have gone to a different hotel. "POOL ALL FOR NOT"
I had not been home in two years and I selected the Quality Inn Westport because a pool was listed as an amenity; to my traveling dismay; I arrived to a---"pool out of service". This dampened my son's spirits-----our vacation, he loves to swim---and it is not available. Then, we were informed the pool should be up and running by Monday and I think […] somewhere between Monday and Tuesday the pool became functional again. But, as soon as it was back up and running-----it was out of commission again. So, a six day stay and no pool use at all. Also, there was a hole in the bathroom door. The door was wood and the hole was at the bottom of the door------so when my children were in the room, I had to ensure that they remained clear of the shards and wood that could come from the hole. The bathroom also seemed "shabby". I like bright, inviting bathrooms; especially in a commercial housing establishment. This bathroom just was not that. Finally, there seemed to be a "dampness" to the carpet when I walked on the floor barefoot. However, I I did have the same experience at another hotel. Overall, I was really not satisfied with the accommodations based on what I was looking to experience at the Quality Inn. and as a PS--I was ill informed of the 2 stay promotion and that counterproductively affected my travel plans. "Quality Inn Westport - not very nice anymore"
Dad and the boys stayed there last year while visiting STL for a few days during Spring Break, and it was good enough to warrant a return visit. Took mom with us this year and it had really fallen off in many ways. Upkeep and cleaning were very weak, and had us second guessing choice and checking neighboring hotels for rooms, but decided to tough it […] out as we had already unpacked the family. The bedding was stained and the room was dirty - there was trash under the bed skirts and behind the night stand. There was a lot of hair in the bathroom. The carpet was old and coming up in many places, and the subfloor gave way in many spots in the room and in the halls. The light in the bathroom overheated and shut off after 15 minutes of use, and then stayed off til it cooled down. Reported that problem on Sunday and was told maintenance man would be there Tuesday. Tuesday evening had to report problem again, and visit from maintenance still did not fix. Also took 2 requests for a plunger to unclog toilet that day. Pool that had been very warm last year was very cold, even for the kids, who came out on last day shivering. Continental b-fast was much weaker than last year. Juice machine did not cool, and one of the waffle makers was bent and almost impossible to use. We saw bagels and muffins on Sunday, but nothing but white bread the rest of the weekdays. We did love the bar/restaraunt attached, but that was about it. If you are looking for a less expensive place to stay as you pass through for a night, this might be your spot, but if you are spending more than one day there you will really see the shortcomings, and feel that the staff really doesn't care. Where do I begin? Upon arrival (after 10pm), I could not go to sleep because of carpet cleaning outside my room. At 3 am, I was awakened again with a loud party next door. "Nightmare! Extremely disappointed..."
Let me start by saying that I stay in Quality Inn Hotels nearly everytime we go out of town. I usually find them inexpensive yet comfortable and they have a good breakfast. The next morning when we tried to take a shower we found the faucet handle was broken and the sink did not put out hot water. The front desk gave us a key to for another room to shower, but once we returned to our room to get our things they called to say "oops, someone is checked in that room." I asked to speak to a manager and she said that she was due in at 6:00 but had no idea what was going on. I was also told that maintenance was not in until 8 and they were fully booked so they couldn't help us. The manager finally got in at 7:30 and gave us a dirty room that another guest had just checked out of to get a shower. This was definately a nightmare!
