Not a 5 Star hotel! We enjoyed our vacation, but if you are used to top quality everything you should stay elsewhere. Our delux-ocean view rooms looked over the pool and one of the restaurants, and through some palm trees we could see the sea. The rooms can definitely use an update. This hotel is lovely and very well kept! My son said "no matter which direction you look, it is a postcard" and he was right. The room was clean, well maintained by staff 2 or 3 times a day and the view was awesome from the balcony. The buffet breakfast came with our room through hotels.com (was not offered on any other site) and was delicious and abundant. […] The usual cost was $24.99 per person. The dinner was expensive at $29.99 per person for a buffet or you could eat at a fancier restaurant for more. They should provide a shuttle to town for free. The cost is $5 per person to Cabo San Lucas (one way) and there is no shuttle to Los Cabos. Behind the hotel is the strip of time shares which has free washer and dryer. There is a store next to the buffet breakfast where water and pop is MUCH less expensive than ordering a bottle or glass at dinner ($10 vs $3 for same bottle of water) and they did not care that we pulled out the pop or water at the table. The level of activity at the hotel could be improved upon. They had a couple of activities each day but nothing substantial. It is a quiet, clean environment and had a nice zero entry pool for kids in the main area. We had 8 people from age 12-72 and found the hotel to be very nice. The check in process for this hotel was mind boggling. My reservation came with complimentary breakfast in the morning. Carla and Christian refused to honor this , stating that it was not in my reservation. I was forced to prove this. Silly me I just thought I needed a confirmation number. Anyway I was able to prove this by pulling up my email and showing […] my reservation confirmation where it was clearly stated. This took over an hour of back and fourth. They called Expedia, I am still not sure why because I booked with hotels.com. The concierge desk was no better. No one seemed to want to work. Btw, the manager Christian made no effort to apologize for basically calling us liars and taking up our vacation time. Nothing special was offered as a kind gesture of good will. We love(d) this hotel during all stays in the past, which is why we booked here again, and brought friends. But...having requested 1 king bed, non-smoking room, we were put into two double beds (not great for a romantic getaway), and our room was a smoking room. We were told they are absolutely unable to guarantee any kind of room request, even if we […] call ahead. I find this preposterous - if I fly to Mexico from another country, I want the room I requested. They did switch our room to a nonsmoking room, but never called about the king size room (which they said would be available the next day). Also, the front desk staff was very unapologetic - in fact, no apology at all, not even a simple "I'm sorry." The rooms are clean, but the cleaning staff removed all wash cloths on day 2. Also, in evenings there is live music around the fire, which is very loud at night. The seaside restaurant seemed to have gone down a bit in service...and our food was cold (disappointing since it was very expensive....it used to be "4-star" quality). If we stay here again, we'll call ahead and ask for rooms on the other side, a king non-smoking, and if they can't guarantee accommodate, we may look elsewhere. Read more

This was the nicest resort my husband and I have stayed in. However, our room had a plumbing problem wherein the shower drain was stopped up and when we flushed the toilet, (dirty) water started coming up through the shower and began flooding the bathroom and the room itself. The woman at the front desk was professional and apologetic. She said she […] would relocate us immediately and when we asked to be compensated for the inconvenience (and disgusting nature of it), she immediately said she would move us to a suite - 2 days later when one became available. The next room we moved into did not have any plumbing problems and it had a big bathroom (tub and shower) and private balcony with a view of the ocean. We didn't really feel settled until we moved to the suite, which was incredible. It had a huge bedroom, bathroom and living room with a half bath and dining area along with two balconies/patios - one off the bedroom and one off the living room. We definitely felt compensated and are pleased with how they fixed the problem. The restaurants were delicious - no complaints. The grounds are immaculate and the service exceptional. We never felt bothered yet there was almost always someone in sight to get us what we desired. There was always a towel when we needed one and they were big, plush, cotton towels. The store was convenient and cheaper than in-room snacks and drinks. They had complimentary wifi near the deli and fire pit. The spa was out of this world. Highly recommended. Read more

We just left the Fiesta Americana after a quiet week in the sun. We remarked several times at the lack of throngs of people. So if you enjoy dipping into your choice of 3 pools and and hut tubs and being quite alone, then do go at the end of January. We got up early for coffee and read at the table until we were hungry, aroung 10 a.m., then headed for the beach which is rocky. By afternoon, we were ready for the pools and late snack in the outdoor lounge. The shrimp cocktail turned out to be a combination of gazpacho and ceviche, and was a meal! We would definitely return. I rated this hotel high in every catagory but do not recommend it. Why, because they had their hand in my pocket for everything like water, coffee, and wifi. There was a mini fridge in my room but it was fully stocked with up-sale items like pop, red-bull, and water. All staff was super corteous since we arrived. The property is spectacular and has beautiful beach views all over the resort. We enjoyed snorkeling and beach during the day and nice, romantic fire pit at night. You always need a car in Cabo in order to get around so distance is not a disadvantage if you rent one. A review that I read before we got to the hotel hit it on the head. The rooms are just okay, but the grounds are beautiful. The lobby and outdoor restaurant, where breakfast is served could use a facelift. The staff overall was very attentive and helpful. We went to the store and bought our own beverages and took to the pool could not afford to buy their drinks and we could not buy food at the store had no fridge in room to store. They really need to develope some type of "Meal Plan" or do "All inclusive". […] When you look up on the internet it state that the Villa's are "All Insclusive" That is not true! I talked to another couple there and they said they read the same as I and thought they could up grade to an "All Inclusive" and they do not offer it. I think they could keep people in the hotel more if they offered something like that. There were no shops. The one shop they have was really nothing in it. Nothing to do while you were there. Kinda boaring compared to other places in Cobo we had been. I would not go back. I can find an "All Inclusive" for way less then what we spent in this hotel with drinks and food and just as nice! Having stayed in the F.A. Grand Coral Beach twice; our expectations of the F.A. Grand Los Cabos where high for our 8-day vacation. There is more than enough pool space for everyone and while swimming is not ideal in the ocean since it's so rocky you can wade in it at high tide and it's very refreshing. We read reviews about the dangers of being hit up by the timeshare people but we told them "no" once and were never bothered again. The only problems with the hotel is with the staff. Upon check-in I was given bad information on making collect calls from the room. When I tried to make a COLLECT CALL from the room , it was not possible. I had to give the front desk my credit card to make a collect call for a charge of $4, yes $4 per minute. So much for COLLECT CALLS Prior to leaving […] for our trip. I had an extensive conversation with the WINE PASSPORT OFFER which we qualify for. The Fiesta Americans WOULD NOT honor the the Wine Passport saying I had to get another CODE from EXPEDIA BLA, BLA, BLA. At $4 per minute cha ching for the hotel. The food and drinks are outrageously priced, even at the pool...$6 for a bottle of water + 11% Tax. That would be $3 for a small bottle + tax. you get the Idea. You MUST rent a car if going to Cabo the taxi cab fees are among the the highest would wide and a rental car is VERY inexpensive at the airport.
