This hotel COULD be a beautiful hotel if they gave it a really good cleaning & did some updating. Everything you need is on site including the bar/lounge :-) However there was a kid's beauty pageant at the hotel during our stay. There were kids everywhere with their trailing stage Moms. The room was dirty, cigarette burn marks on the bedspread among other stains. Ran out of food at breakfast and didn't restock. Don't waste your money. I thought Clarion's were supposed to be nice hotels, this one definitely was not!

The Clarion appears to be an old Holiday Inn Holidome property. Big indoor pool and hot tub area with a 30 - 40 foot domed ceiling. Only problem seemed to be that nobody would clean up the pool area from the night before. The pool area each morning was still a mess from the night before.....dirty towels everywhere, no clean towels, Trash can overflowing […] with pizza boxes and trash on tables. Our 1st room had stained sheets, stained ceiling, and a patched fist hole in the bathroom door. We were given another room and it was nice. No problem with it. The hotel was clean otherwise but "dated"somewhat. Breakfast didn't have many choices. Pool area was nice. Lounge looked nice.

We chose this hotel because of the location close to an early morning appointment. We were really looking forward to relaxing in the pool and hot tub for the evening but that was impossible. There had been a convention there that weekend and apparently there is no weekend cleaning crew. The buildings have a 70's feel and a lot of maroon. The lake is a nice idea but I only saw it briefly when I drove in. There were two wet lines on the bed sheet so I switched to the other bed, maybe it was from the housekeepers bucket? Windows were dirty. Rooms are very big.

Over the years, this place has undergone some dramatic changes. I'm pleased to report they've made some major improvements and the Waterfront looks good again and and is a good place to stay. Great location if you're a racecar fan, but far enough away so you won't hear them.

The location of this hotel to my destination (IRP) was great. Entering the room there was a faint lingering musty smell. The bath room and fixtures were old and cheap with large amounts of lime scale and corrosion on them. The shower curtain had black mold on it. The room had a large amount of gnats in the air and I made a mistake in leaving a cough […] drop on the nightstand and in the morning the cough drop and nightstand was covered in ants.The comforters were stained with god knows what and the blankets beneath were thread bare in spots and holes in others. There was not enough ice machines for a busy labor day weekend so ice was a problem and catching the machine with ice in it was hit and miss at best. I was in INDY to do a bucket list item and while not ruining my labor day weekend. It made thing more difficult than they should have been. The room price was fair if the room had been a little better maintained. But considering the state of the room and the outrageous state and local hotel taxes that almost doubled the room price. The whole experience left a very bad taste in my mouth and the feeling of being ripped off. Read more
