"Will stay again"
It was clean, pleasant and well kept hotel. Bed was comfortable. We were about 1 mile from Downtown Boise. Would stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
If you're looking to be downtown this is a great spot. You can walk to everything. The hotel was fine, a little out dated but fine overall. I would probably look for another hotel in a similar location if I was going back there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Breakfast buffet was not very good. Hotel is right next to a Gentleman's Club!!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Quiet and close to Joes Crab Shack!!!!"
We travel extensively with our daughter who plays basketball and softball. We have stayed in numerous hotels around the Western US. Loved our King size bed. . . very soft. Pillows may have been a bit too soft, but loved the generous amount of pillows!! Loved the sink on the outside of the bathroom...something rare at Hotels. I love a dark room. . . […] plenty dark. and for the most part. . . Quiet!!! Just heard a couple of door slams. . . but no talking in the hallway. . . .vey nice!! Close enough to my very favorite seafood shack. . . Joe's!!! This is a perfectly adequate hotel. It looks rather dated on the outside and has become a little scruffy, but all the main systems seem to work. I had a pleasant room with a comfortable bed. I did not try the restaurant or any other hotel facility. I was passing through Boise and this served my purpose well. But having said that, this was a fairly unmemorable […] hotel. Very, very pleasedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I loved that the house keepers didn't knock and wake me up to clean the room. I woke up at 11:00am was gone by 12:00pm when I returned at 6:00pm too was cleaned. The staff was friendly and helpful with finding activities to do. I'll stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for the price only!"
We had a cheap rate for the weekend, so no breakfast was included. The hotel is dated with mustard colored walls. Carpets in the lobby and the rooms looked dirty. Our room, the duvet on one of the beds, had white stains on it. I put it on the floor for the maid staff to change, but they put in back on my bed. I tracked down a maid and asked her to replace […] it, she spoke little english, and she reluctantly replaced it. There were stains on the wall by the bed that looked like someone spilled a bottle of wine. The room phone was gross and looked like food was all over it. There was a huge water leak stain on the ceiling as you entered the room and the pop corn ceiling looked like it was about to come down. When the water was turned on in the sink and bath tub, the water was orange and sediments came out. We had to wait for the water to run clear. The beds were comfortable and close to Boise State University and downtown. Not sure I would stay there again though! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Very dated property. Staff were nice, but when there is dirt and dried drippings on door handles/etc., how good can that be? Definitely a one to two star facility - no higher.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quick Stay - Nice Hotel!"
My friends and I only stayed for one night as we were only in town for the Potato Bowl. The hotel room was comfortable and large enough for 4 adults for an overnight stay. We wish the beds were a true 'queen' size for more comfort, but the 'full' size beds were fine for the night. Large bathroom and plenty of towels. The hotel shuttle was also great […] - they took us downtown to the restaurants and bars at no additional cost. The hotel is also very close to downtown, so taking a taxi back home after a night out cost $6. The front desk was helpful and polite. I would stay again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My stay was great, the lounge had great food and wine. Coffee Cafe was over priced! The room was clean the service was very helpful and friendly. I would stay there again. However, I think the cofffe should be complimentry and not charge 2.00 for a bottle of water in your room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"very comfy beds"
We thouroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean and very nice. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds we have slept on, which is something we look for over everything else. The breakfast was very good! We would defintaley stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, bad location, unhelpful staff."
The hotel itself is fine. Needs a little updating but clean and nice quality ammenities. The room across the hall seemed more like a makeshift night club, yelling, screaming, loud music, slamming doors and about 10-15 drunk college age kids. This went on till about 3 am. Hotel staff seemed unconcerned and totaly indifferent. No offer to discount my […] nights stay, or any form of reconciliation. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fabulous beds and linens!"
Staff was very helpful and considerate, the rooms were updated and the beds and linens were very comfortable. This is the most important aspect of hotels for us. The lobby was nice, the only part that looked abit worn was the windows and color scheme of the place. Colors were a bit dated, but in very good condition. Because of the extreme winters the […] windows around the place are weathered. Nit picky - yes, but we were worried at first till we got in the rooms - worth every penny for a great night sleep! Location is convenient. Clean rooms. Restaurant menu and room service need improvement.. Everyone was very helpful in every way. I would say that your customer service is excellent and that makes all the difference for a pleasant stay. "Great price for a very nice hotel."
We were treated very well on check in with a friendly, informed clerk. The room was in excellent condition, the beds were wonderful and the morning $5.00 breakfast buffet was a pretty nice extra treat. The hotel has lots of meeting rooms, a nice lobby, the coffee shop and a lounge. The pool and hot tub are outdoors, but looked to be in good condition. "Staying downtown Boise"
Hotel is a good value that is downtown Boise, the rooms are clean and functional for a business traveler and I would stay there with my family. The only draw back to this hotel is the Restaurant, it's not very good; even the free breakfast needs help. I would recommend staying at this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bar is not bad!"
I thought the location was pretty lousy... next door to a strip bar and not really close to any good restaurants.. I was told I could walk 5 or 6 blocks to some good locales - downtown area. The room was clean though and the bar was friendly and great drinks. They have a breakfast buffet for $5.25 and it pretty much has the basics - pretty good deal. […] The pool is outdoor and not heated and the doors leading to the pool area were super dirty and needed attention. But we did use the hot tub and it was pleasant. "Nice place to stay"
The room was comfortable & the price was great. Close to downtown. I'd stay again in the future. Breakfast price was very reasonable for an open buffet style.Genuine Expedia guest review
This place has a good location close to downtown Boise. The pool was small but very nice in the hot weather that we had while we were there. The bar was very popular and the food was quite good for a hotel. I would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel seemed to smell of old, stale smoke. The beds were very comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"over all a nice hotel"
Well had a late check in , the girl at eh counter was nice and helpful. Housekeeping gets started at 8:30 our room was next to the service elevator...way to much noise! It sounded like someone was angry and banging on the walls. Overall the hotel is nice. If you want to sleep in make sure not to be next to the service elevator.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Needs some work."
You can tell that the hotel is old. The hallways, stairs, elevators were all dirty. The stairs leading to the different levels had cob webs in between the rails but the room was clean. The room had had a face lift and was much better than the rest of the hotel except you could see the worn out wood around the doors. Speaking of doors they don't seem […] to be tight fitting and secure and very loud to shut and hard to open and close. All in All it was okay but I would probably not stay again. I did bid this room so it was less than the going price and for that price it was okay but if I had paid the going price and got what I got, I would have been very disappointed. Desk staff was very friendly. Outdated decor. An early knock on the door from the cleaning staff wondering if we were going to check out was unpleasant.Genuine Expedia guest review
Our experience was positive with everything, except the lobby, which unfornately looked a bit drab. We didnot visit the restaurant, although it seemed to be dark for the most part. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. We didn't have a problem with anything else.Genuine Expedia guest review
Frustrated by the service. Asked for roll-away at 2:30, had not been delivered when we got back to room at 10:30. Had requested two double beds. Could not be accommodated first night hence the cot. Made change the next morning. Got key to use in morning, went to move our stuff that night and room had been rented to someone else. Very inefficient and […] not at all apologetic. "Needs seem house maintenance done"
Elevator was not working, had to use the stairs for the 4 days we were there. You would think that it would not take 4 days to repair. If you do not want to walk up three flights of stairs, I recommend you ask if the elevator is working before making reservations. The A/C in the room had a constant humming that bothered us a bit. Sounded like you […] were sleeping with the bathroom fan on all the time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Unhelpfull and falling apart."
The staff was not helpful, the vents had dust hanging from them, the elevator was out of service, and the A/C didn't work. The elevator was out of service. The employee that checked us in told me our room told me that our room was at the very end of the hall on the second floor. I asked if there was a stairwell closer to our room and she told me there […] wasn't. There was one right next to our room that opened onto a part of the parking lot that was unoccupied and would have been much more convenient. The A/C, though I heard the pump kick in, never cooled the room below 80 degrees, no matter how low I set the thermostat. When I told the staff about our discomfort, I was told "Oh, that's too bad." and that's it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not good for parties!!!"
It was a great stay but when the people in our other room were getting out of hand instead of the staff informing us of the issues they let it go. We could have stopped the other people being kicked off the property had we been notified.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not the worst place we ever stayed"
This "downtown" location is on a one way frontage road, difficult to get to and out beyond walking distance of anything else. While not totally in skid row, it is across the street from the Charity Gospel Mission; definitely not the best part of Boise. The elevator had been inoperative for some time waiting for a part to be manufactured. Expedia should […] have known this when they made our reservation. The first room we were given definitely smelled of cigarette smoke. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Need more customer service."
I lost my jacket. I thought I left it at the hotel room. I called hotel many times finally to be confirmed that there was no jacket. I am disappointed that it took a few days to be finalized. I have to talk to house keeping to check it out but they can be contacted only limited hours. They took my number but never called back. I left my # to the front […] desk, nor called. I expected the kind of service that they checked the room with staff and quickly called me back within a day or two to confirm there was no jacket. Some guests left something at the room. It shouldn't be that hard to check it out upon request if something was left or not. It is frustrating for a business traveller to loose something, though it is simply a jacket. That's a real service giving strong impression and make them return. With Red Lion, I got an impression that once checked out, you are already forgotten to deserve very limited attention. "Broken elevator, no crib"
We have two young kids. The elevator was broken and they couldn't get us a room on the first floor. We asked for a crib and they said it would be right up. We called two hours to see where it was and they said that they didn't have one available. Overall the hotel is decent but we didn't appreciate hauling our kids up and down the stairs or waiting […] for a crib that wasn't going to show up. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"2 Night Stay"
The elevator was out, which was clearly noted upon arrival (should be fixed by early July 2012). This was not an issue for me. The rooms could be updated a bit; some items have been updated which creates some miss matching decor. (Vanity lights are bronze, while all other bathroom fixtures are chrome; for this room, they should've opted for all antique […] or venetian bronze.) Water pressure was fantastic. The food in the lounge is decent and decently priced. Staff, which I saw little of, were pleasant. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Could have been better."
It was a nice place to stay, however this hotel could use a little extra care. There was a leak in the beautiful glass roof above the entrance that dripped right on my face as I walked in. A dirty wash cloth was still hanging in our shower. The front desk help was very nice, but somewhat unprofessional. The breakfast buffet was great for the price, […] but no continental breakfast. The bar was a good place to relax with some great staff and just all around good atmosphere. To be honest, it was on kind of a ghetto block, but in a good location near downtown. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was comfy. Hallway carpeting was very dirty and is in serious need of replacement. While I stayed there, the elevators were not in working order. Luckily I was able to get a room on the first floor, although they were offering to take luggage up for me if I would have chosen a higher floor. Cart at the pool […] where towels were located was empty, and spa was dirty. The restaurant in house called 'Characters' was a joke. One poor girl running around to help everyone coming in. She was unable to make most cocktails, the bar was extremely lacking and food was mediocre at best. Quick access to freeway. Stay in your room and you will be happy with your stay!
