The Blake Hotel New Orleans, an Ascend Collection hotel

Pros: Hotel has been recently upgraded, and it is an excellent value. Our room was spacious, with lovely furnishings and a great view of the city from two huge picture windows. Cons: […] We were given a key to an occupied room - oops! Fortunately, when we unlocked the door and walked in, the occupant was dressed. (Unlike what happened to us when we walked in on a half clothed woman years ago in a N.Y hotel). Hall had a bucket to catch leaking water; not very pleasant to see, but we chalked it up to the new construction. Elevator is also used for maintenance workers, who keep it stopped on the floor where supplies are kept, so it takes forever for it to get to guests who are waiting. Read more

The hotel is in need of routine maintenance. There is no on site parking, and valet parking is about the only option. No view out of a tiny window. Plaster repaired but not painted. Just a lot of little stuff that made the hotel seem "in need".

This hotel is in a perfect location. It is very pet friendly which gets extra points in my book. The staff was friendly and helpful. It also has a fun theme which adds to experience. My only negative was our bathroom could have been cleaner. There was hair in the tub and it was not very clean, a huge turn off. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is ok, but definitely nothing special. Rooms are small and the elevator is old and takes forever. The front desk staff was nice enough but seemed overwhelmed and were forgetful. The staff was very attentive and punctual when called upon. The night life was so close to walk to, and our cruise port was cllose enough to walk to also. It was a smaller hotel, but very clean, very updated and very sleek! I would stay here time and time again if I am ever in New Orleans again!

It was incredible for the price. It's just like the pictures. The pleasing decor makes it feel more upscale. The staff is great. The bathroom was really tiny and didn't have much surface for toiletries. Not as clean as I would have liked, but the bed was very comfortable. Major complaint: no fan in the bathroom!

The staff was overall very friendly. There was a problem wih our keys on the 2nd day but was fixed promptly. The elevator was scary. There is no longer a bar :(..... Not good for game days Blake hotel....

Super easy check-in, very fast check-out. The room was clean and equiped with all the extra doo-dads to make ones stay more comfortable. Close enough to the French Quarter to walk, just a few blocks from the casino, aquarium and riverwalk. Convenient to the business district too. I will stay here again when I come back to NOLA.

A great opportunity in the heart of New Orleans. Going through renovations but a very clean hotel with a very professional staff. Excellent restaurant on site. Four blocks from the French Quarters. Looking forward to a return stay.

I must say they really pulled it off for me. Had issues with another reservation and found this hotel through hotels.com. And it's a beautiful hotel. Looks newly renovated and the staff was awesome. I especially like the waking distance to the French Quarter. Highly recommend this place. The price was very affordable....can't wait to go back.

I enjoyed staying at the Blake Hotel, but did have a few complaints. First, I had the hotel address programmed in my GPS and could not find it. After circling the block several times, I stopped and asked a person in the same building and he could not tell me where to go. After circling the block again, I happened to see someone taking luggage into a […] building that had the number on the glass, so I went inside and asked the desk clerk. When asked why the name of the hotel was not on the building, he said that it was under new ownership and the sign had not been placed. After alot of frustration, I went to my clean nice room to rest and found that the television was not working. I called the desk and they sent someone immediately to fix the problem. The rest of the stay was nice other than the rain, which only Mother Nature could fix. Read more

This is a very good hotel with large rooms loaded with every conscience you need. (microwave, refrigerator, safe). Nice new lobby. Rooms have not been renovated but are decent. This hotel is a standard modern hotel without the New Orleans charm.

We loved it! Not a 5 star but clean, quiet and comfortable. The hallways were hot but but the rooms were nice and cool. Hotel staff friendly and helpful Ray the door man was a gentleman. Helpful, friendly and when the renovation is complete I'm sure it'll only get better!
