"Perfect for families and groups"
The hotel exceeded my picky needs as we stayed for 4 days with 3 teenagers for a tennis tournament. The room was spacious enough for 5. Before we arrived, I spoke to the front desk lady and she arranged for a handicapped suite and it was comfortable for all of us. The entire hotel is clean and updated. I appreciate that the elevator doesn't ding when it arrives - keeps down the noise. Loved the 6am - 10 am breakfast with hot (pancakes, bacon, biscuits and gravy) and cold items (Greek yogurt and even GF muffins). The indoor pool and outdoor private deck was a great way to unwind. As part of a larger group, we brought in dinner and Emily at the front desk couldn't have been nicer, even anticipating our needs. We'll stay here for the next GR tourny.
"Clean, friendly, no hassles....what i've come to expect from Holiday Inn Express"

Came into town for a birthday party and stayed Saturday night. The hotel is nice and clean, and the staff was very curteous and friendly. Swam in the pool, and it was good for a quick dip in the morning. Didn't spend a whole lot of time in the pool. Just a quick dip to shake the cobwebs out of my head from the night before. The pool area was clean and fresh towels were available at the pool. We had a king bed room, and both the room and the bathroom/shower were very clean and nice. Breakfast in the morning was good too, based on our expectations. The food was tasty and hot, and there were adequate things to select from. The location was convenient to the freeway too. We would recommend this hotel if you are in the area.
"Large and clean room; Friendly staff; but not good sound proofing"

The hotel is beautiful and located at very good location, target and lots of restaurants is just 10 min walk distance. the staff is great and willing to help. The room is big and very clean and the bed is super comfortable. But the sound proofing is super poor. Our room have a connecting door with next room and we can hear the TV sound so clearly even though the door is shut. it's really annoying and we spend long time to be able to fall asleep.
"Beautiful hotel just not accommodating"

My elderly parents, teenage sons and I stayed here for one night. It is a beautiful hotel and the price was very reasonable for July 4, 2014. However I spent many minutes on the phone with both Holiday Inn 800 Reservations and the hotel in Walker directly (3 way call) making it very clear I needed a "handicapped" room for my parents and an additional room for my family close to them. I was assured by both the hotel directly and the 800 reservation representative that my parents room would be a handicapped room. Upon arriving - very late in the evening so we were all dead tired, I again was assured we were getting the type of room I requested, and I was exasperated that their room was not what I would call a "handicapped" room. It was IDENTICAL to my families room! Only one handlebar in the bathroom for getting into the tub. Absolutely nothing else making this room handicapped accessible. At that point we were all too tired to make any changes so I just did what I had to do to get my parents in the tub etcetera. The next morning I called and asked for a "late" check out and was told because we were not members of their "club" we could not have a late check out - even if I paid something. Upon exiting the hotel I stopped by the desk (when I asked my question the young man never even looked up at me) and asked why the room had so few handicapped amenities and was told if I wanted a room with more handicapped amenities I should have asked for a room with a "wheelchair roll-in bathroom." So beware: If you don't know Holiday Inn's "lingo" or belong to their "club" you are apparently not that important to them....

Just spent one night here on our way to Michigan adventure so we liked that we didn't have to check out til noon. Kids liked the pool, they even have stuff at the pool for the kids to play with. Breakfast was also good loved the cinnamon rolls.
"Excellent Welcome to Michigan!"

We spent 3 days at this hotel for a quick family vacation to Michigan for the first time. The room was clean, sheets were clean, flat screen, soft bed, fridge and hotel staff were courteous and helpful. A big shout out to Emily at the Holiday Inn! She was EXTREMELY helpful and gave us wonderful tips on places to go and what to do. I had informed Emily that we had an infant with us and upon our arrival, lo and behold, without asking we had a very clean crib for the little one. Don't forget to check out awesome pool, hot tub and free breakfast and gym. We will definitely come here again when we are in Grand Rapids!

Stayed at this hotel for one night while on vacation passing through that area. The hotel is actually in Walker, MI, as part of the suburbs of Grand Rapids. The hotel location is within walking distance to shopping, eating, and theaters. The staff, rooms, and breakfast were outstanding. We enjoyed our stay here.

The Staff were absolutely phenomenal especially the General Manager, Monica. I have never experienced such efficient checking in. I am a disabled traveler & my special needs requests were respected & immediately seen to. During my three day stay the Staff consistently displayed courtesouness, kindness & cheerfulness. They readily answered any of my questions & went out of their way to ensure that my stay was AWESOME. I will return to this facility over and over just based on this first time experience. Kudos To All!
"Over charged after check out"
04/15/14 JllinGR Grand Rapids, Michigan
I had rented two rooms paid and a few days later was sent a letter with a detailed bill of additional charges! When I complained to to Holiday Inn customer service they more or less said they are allowed to do that without informing me first don't like it file a complaint to you bank which I am! Would never stay at Holiday Inn again I guess customer is not always right!!
