El Cid La Ceiba Beach - Cozumel 20.48087, -86.97226

This hotel was wonderful. The staff is fun and friendly and the grounds are beautiful. There is lots to do there. The snorkeling is pretty good at the private beach that the hotel has. I was concerned about the possible noise because of how close it is to the cruise ship terminal, however we never even heard them coming in. The only complaint that I have about this hotel is that each night around midnight, the water would be turned off until the morning. They were doing constuction on the bottom floor so maybe that was just a temporary problem. We'll be back there foe sure!!!

The hotel was centrally located. The first romm we were put in was poor at best. They switched us to a better room and all was good. The push to listen to the the time share speil was everpresent. overall a decent place for a good rate.

We enjoyed our stay at La Ceiba in Cozumel. The staff was warm and friendly, eager to please. The hotel was spotless, and our room was immaculate and kept clean during our stay. The location right on the sea provides a great view. Some people complain about the cruise ships coming and going but we found it interesting and fun to watch. The only things we thought odd were that they did some construction type things that we thought would be better done in the off season - like they tore down the hammocks by the salt water pool and went into a construction of a new set up of some kind. So the hammocks there went away and there was construction going on. Hearing chain saws all week wasn't fun. And they took one of the two elevators out of service for a day and a half to replace the tile floor in it, which didn't appear to be in any kind of disrepair. But other than that it was great.

No room when we arrive put us up in another Hotel, they gave us one day of all inclusive, the day we stayed at the other hotel. Room was very nice, microwave, and coffee maker never worked. I told them about it 3 different days out of 5. Good dive shop, we got a good shore dive in. Cruise ships right in front of Hotel, not bad not good. Price was right. May stay there again.

I was very dissapointed with the hotel accomodations. First of all, when we arrived we were told we would have to wait 45 minutes before our room was ready. We returned after 45 minutes and were asked to wait another 45 minutes. Overall it took almost 2 hrs and 15 minutes before they checked us in. Then the A/C was not working 100%. I asked them to come check it out and the maintenance man turned the unit off altogether. It was incredibly hot. I requested a room transfer, which they did pretty quick, but the A/C was not whole lot better. It was hard to sleep at night. The next day, I booked the rest of our vacation at a hotel nearby. From that point on, our vacation was wonderful.
