"Super loud...great location!"
We were facing the street and it was so incredibly loud. we could not sleep. After a very long trip, we were in need of a restful night and again it was super loud. The location is great. We were able to walk everywhere. Overall, the noise was too much. We asked to move rooms away from the street and were told that they had no other rooms available […] . "Nice hotel in the heart of fishermans wharf"
Hotel isn't much to speak of however you absolutely cannot beat their location! The free parking is also a huge plus! We enjoyed grabbing a free cup of hot chocolate and walking across the street to fishermans wharf. Desk clerk was helpful and knowledgable. Rooms have absolutely no view and are quite basic but we spent very little time in the roomGenuine Expedia guest review
Stayed one night. Hotel location is perfect, close to Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. We could see the Pier from our room. Hotel is a little old and out-dated but very clean. There is no air conditioning which was not an issue for us but might disturb some people. Hotel is also 5 minutes walk from Pier 33 where you can catch a boat to Alcatraz. "On the Harbor"
The hotel is across the street from the harbor and Boudin bakery. You are literally feet from Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. Chinatown is a half-hour walk. The most amazing thing, though, is that there is free self-parking beneath the hotel; If you have stayed in San Francisco before, you'll know how difficult and expensive driving and parking normally […] are. "In the middle of everything!"
Great place to stay if the only reason you need a hotel for is to shower, rest up, and sleep. Hotel folk friendly and extremely helpful i helping us with suggestions and tips to experience the city. A very friendly lady checked us in with a smile (my bad,but I think her name was Janet?) Her suggestions to catch the Big Bus to show us around all of SF […] and drop us closest to Chinatown then hop back on another bus that dropped us off at the hotel was brilliant! Once we got up to our room the phone rang. She called to ask if we'd like a shuttle to pick us up to take us to the airport at the end of our stay - saving us $$ if we had taken a taxi and made the arrangements for me. I really appreciated that! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A smell in the room"
Everything was okay except for a smell as you enter the room. Even my kids wanted to stay outside. But the hotel was full so we had no choice, we stayed for just one nightGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location for all the fun in SF"
The Hotel is in an excellent location and the friendly desk attendants were great to work with.Genuine Expedia guest review
"OLD OLD OLD"
Only thing new in the room since 1960 is a digital clock radio and a push button phone. My college graduate son is younger than TV. No A/C. Sign on bathroom mirror warned of fluctuating water temperature - good thing! By European standards the bathroom was "normal" size. Unfortunately the hotel is located in San Francisco. "Great location, super price, good room"
This was the perfect location for us and the rates were so reasonable compared to the other SF hotels! The room wasn't luxury, but it was very nice for our family of 4 to bed down and rest. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room and it did what we needed and the service was excellent. "Great location, basic hotel"
The Wharf Inn was a basic clean hotel in a great location to enjoy the wharf. Parking was free and we could walk to most places or take public transportation. It was a bit noisy, near the loading area for many tours and activities. Walls were quite thin but staff was helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Older hotel. Great location. Could walk to fishermans wharf and pier 39 which was Only 1 block away. Some tours left accross the st. which was good also. The thing that sold me was the free parking and location. The rooms were clean just not fancy which was fine. I would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"old hotel, but squeeky clean!! we enjoyed our stay"
the front desk was very accommodating- and you simply cannot beat the location. older hotel, but very clean, and just fine for an overnight in the thick of it all!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice cheap motel"
This hotel was fine, as long as you're not expecting something on the level of, say, a Hilton. It's a classic motel along the lines of a Travelodge. Nothing fancy, but everything worked and the staff were pleasant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location for visiting Wharf"
Location and parking great for visiting wharf. Only issue is street noise on occasion. First night no issue; second night (Friday) loud motorcycles between midnight and 1 AM.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location and price"

"Better than we thought"
No amenities is the only draw back. Could use micro, refrig. coffee pot. After some of the reviews we were skeptical. But great location, very clean. Our room which was a single queen very small. Tried to upgrade numerous times, but was told no rooms available. 2 mornings walk up people with families checked into 2 queens. Maybe no rooms available for […] us during our stay due to # of days we needed. Clerks were nice, always fresh coffee available. Traffic and construction going on, but really didnt affect us and we had a room facing street and parking lot. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

For the price it was very disappointing. The pic shows a trolley car right outside. No way.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, near Fisherman's Wharf and Piers."
Staff was very friendly and helpful, but the room was a bit dated, but still clean enough for my tastes. Free parking was also a huge Plus since City parking prices are not cheap! Free Wifi was a little slow, and required logging in every few hours.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good hotel, near pier 39 and transportation"
I liked the hotel since it was close to transportation and just 2 blocks away from pier 39 and food. I would probably stay here again if I go back to San Francisco.Genuine Expedia guest review

"bad timing bad attitudes"
major street repair happening on Beach, entrance to hotel actually blocked. The noise and dust was ridiculous. Hotel staff shrugged it off without apology, "they said there was nothing they could do, as they get no advance notice" Luckily construction started at 8am and ended around 5p, so sleeping was not affected. "1st anniversary overnight in SF"
The hotel was closer than I realized to the restaurant we had reservations at for our 1st wedding anniversary dinner (The Franciscan Crab) was about 1 block away (door to door) which was great. The hotel didn't charge for parking which was great because most nicer/desirable hotels in the Fisherman's Wharf area charge for parking. We walked everywhere […] in that neighborhood, and Ghiradelli Square was about 5 blocks away but didn't seem as long of a walk as we thought either. I recommend this hotel but they have been doing road work/repairs down below our window which faced east. Otherwise it was a great place to stay, we were happy there! My friend and I had a good stay at the hotel but after we checked out I realized that I had left my ipad at the hotel, which by the way I never took out of the hotel. "location location location"
Location and free parking is just about all this place has going for it. It is just half a block to Fisherman's Wharf, near Pier 39 and about half a mile from ghiardelli sqare. It was pretty full when we booked a room with a king bed. When we checked in and began planning our evening, we heard a loud thrumming noise which sounded like it was coming […] from upstairs. Long story short, we were moved to a third floor room facing the street. We were concerned it might be noisy because one of the street performers was blasting his boom box. It wasn't bad, though. Actually, though the staff performed in a perfunctory fashion, the morning woman gave us some good advice about the cable cars. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not the greatest"
They have free WI-FI (which was a MUST for what we needed), their location was great (by the wharf), and the employees were great. However it needs some major renovation. "Great hotel in a great location!"
My wife and I stayed here so that we wouldn't have to deal with the parking and driving nightmare when we saw Sting perform at the Americas Cup Pavilion. The hotel was a short walk to the venue and right in the middle of the activity of Pier 39 which was wonderful! The hotel itself is old but well maintained and the room is small but clean and quiet. "Too old! Too noisy!"
We stayed here for one night, and I am glad that was it. Hotel is old!! and you can tell this when you get inside your room. It needs a major renovation, rooms are small, bathrooms are tiny, water pressure stinks,no coffee makers, iron or ironing boards, if you need one you have to go to the office and get it, ours was filthy!!. I thought for the price […] it would be a descent place, but the price only reflects the location and it's proximity to the Wharf and other attractions. We were awaken by loud drunken people going to their rooms, the police knocking on a door to boot the people for not paying, noise from the business next door. All other hotels were booked so we decided to stay here. In the future we will avoid this hotel and other ones near it, they all looked the same. If you are willing to pay more for comfort, good amenities and safety stay at another better known hotel. This one is too old!! Too noisy!! and not comfortable nor has a secure feeling. My best friend and our two teen sons spent 2 nights in a double room. The location is perfect...half-block from all the piers, and about 6 blocks from the Alcatraz tour. Short, but fun walk to the Trolley station ( where even the guy playing guitar for money was friendly and helpful?) The front desk man was extremely friendly and helpful, and there's […] gated, safe parking. The room was clean, just small for 2 women and 2 teen boys. I would stay there a million times over if asked. We had a deal for $150/night, but I wouldn't pay any more than that. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to transport & things to see in San Francisc"
The hotel was very pleasant however the noise was unbearable . Suggest that something is done to soundproof the rooms. Otherwise all okGenuine Hotels.com guest review
First the bad. The room was a "non smoking" but the room and bedding smelled like smoke and that made it difficult for me to sleep the first night. The room was freezing when we got there. Turned up the heat to no avail. Then I recalled a comment when researching so called the desk and had them turn it on. Would be helpful if they turned on the heat […] knowing someone had checked into the room. Now the good. The hotel was in a great location, close to the wharf area and could walk where we needed to. It was also close to the hop on hop off and trolley stops. Desk staff was great and helpful with information. WiFi was free in the room and that was a nice plus. Parking was free and that was what sealed the deal for me when making our reservation. They also allowed us to keep the car there for a few hours after we checked out so we could take a city tour. We stayed two nights and would stay there again despite the negatives. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Motel from the movie Psycho"
That place is disgusting and I felt very unsafe. I called to let them know it would be a late check in. When I got there at midnight, the door was locked with a sign saying the clerk would be back in 5 minutes. I had to get back in my car because I felt so unsafe outside. Fifteen minutes later, no one at desk still. I finally get through to someone […] on the phone who calls him to come out. No apology, and he was creepy himself. Got to my room. No chain on the door, lightbulbs were burned out. I didn't feel safe at all and I don't scare easily. There's a huge sign on the mirror asking if you need personal belongings. I called the next morning for toothpaste and was told they no longer have ANY personal items for guests. You also have to call down for an ironing board, iron and hairdryer--and they don't deliver to you. You must go down to them. I tried to call several hotels around at 1:30am because I felt so unsafe but unfortunately all of them were full. Priceline shouldn't even offer this hotel. It should be closed down. It looks like the motel on the movie Psycho. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Initial reaction is that it was scary and unsafe but by the end of our 3 night stay I must say it was a very convenient location, very friendly staff, love the free parking considering all the parking in the area is so expensive and very limited. "Don't worry about the noise hotel....Can be loud.."
GREAT Customer Service, the rooms around us were a little loud (not enough insulation in walls), the rooms were clean, and Terrific Location.....I would stay there again. Kind of expensive room rates.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel gem in SF wharf area."
Location is excellent in proximity to Fisherman's Wharf and easy access to Muni transportation and tour busses. Biggest asset is free parking offered by the hotel, which is a premium in San Francisco. Good value for the price.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is in the perfect location for visiting Fisherman's Wharf!! The staff is friendly and helpful. Great wifi connection! Room was clean, and we felt very secure. The only thing negative is the thin walls, but I guess you can expect that in an older motel. If we visit San Francisco again, we will stay here!Genuine Expedia guest review

Nice people small bathroom tiny toilet too short for my hubby but room size was ok and clean the bed was comfy location the best for usGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was tiny! Looks so much more spacious in the pictures. The shower was so small and the water would go from luke warm to freezing cold during a shower if you could get it to warm up at all. It was very disappointing to end our honeymoon at this hotelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel has free parking which can save around $30 a day. The room was clean but slightly claustrophobic. Beds were good and shower was fine. The location is quite nice. It's right on the ocean in front of the Alcatraz island. There are a lot of shops and food around and there's public transportation close by to take you all around. It's very tourist […] oriented. "Free parking good rate very close to pier 39"
Free parking close to public transportation that is easy to figure out. We parked the care and walked short distance to pier 39. Two blocks north Walgreens photo dept buy the 1, 3 or 7 day Muni (public) transportation pass. Cable car is $6 every time you get on so that day pass is a bargain.
