The room was exactly what I expected for the price. Not super clean, a little shabby but perfect for a place to sleep. My only issue was the proprietor. We got in very late and woke up just an hour before checkout. There were only 8 cars in the parking lot so the 3 story hotel was not any where near full. I called for a late checkout of one hour. Room & hotel is a bit outdated & need to be updated. I only stayed here because all hotels were booked in South Bend. I stayed here for the Notre Dame Vs. BYU (Notre Dame won 7-0 record), which was about a 35 min. drive.

This was not the greatest stay, staff was rude and told me to hold while he was talking on the phone when I standing at the counter for 10 at least 10 minutes. This is a hotel for truckers to stay at, nothing nice about this place. The whole first floor smelled of chlorine from the pool and the elevator was old and took forever. Do not recommend.

I was TOTALLY PARANOID about bed bugs after reading and hearing reports of the rampant outbreak in hotels. Hubby & I went up to the room before we brought our luggage in and checked the mattress & box spring. Totally clean and both looked practically brand new. It was a nice stay, very conveniently located to our destination of the Warren Dunes. Food choices close by. Hotel was clean even if the condition seemed (smelled) older. There was no fitness center but they did have a microwave and refridgerator in the room which was great to have.

This hotel was close to the sand dunes we planned on spending the day at. I had reserved 3 rooms with 3 adults and several teen's, 2 rooms were okay, but the 3rd. room the toilet wasn't working right, the t.v. would only get a few channels, they were in the process of changing providers so you had to put in the channel number on the remote but it still […] did not work, and all the rooms smelled terrible of old musty smokey room. Luckily I had a can of room deodorizer in my bag and we sprayed the rooms several times to kill the smokey smell. They need a bigger breakfast area, only had 3 tables to accomodate several families, people were waiting a long time with children.They had a really good selection of muffins, cereal and waffles and GREAT coffee.You had to get your food and go back to your room if you wanted to eat before they shut it down at 9 a.m. Swimming pool was small for teens but it would be fine for small kids. Overall it provided a bed, a shower, and a breakfast but nothing stood out. We were very disappointed that the front desk clerk put us on the second floor, with all of our luggage and children, and did not tell us the elevator was broken. I feel we were definitely charged too much for what we were offered.

The hotel has great location and it's been updated not too long ago. Linens were clean, fresh and good quality, continental breakfast was very rich and tasty, easy parking, strong AC and good selection of TV channels. However, there were a few disappointments: elevator broke down the next day of our arrival and wasn't yet fixed when we left 3 days later, […] breakfast was served only till 9am, which was 8am our time and most other guests' from Illinois, judging by license plates in the parking lot. Water in the pool was too cold, the bathroom was too small and lighting too dim. A crib for my baby was unavailable, even though we requested it at the time of booking (someone else was using the only crib they had). The elevator was broken for our 24hr stay, and there was an odd smell in the room,esp. the recliner chair. Location was the reason for the stay. At least we were only on the 2nd floor, considering we both have bad knees.

The beds were uncomfortable, 1 of the towels in our room was dirty, and everything was small. There weren't very many people staying there and trying to get somehting for breakfast was a pain.

I was extremely satisfied with this hotel. The price was excellent for what I got. It was very close to the beach of Warren Dunes State Park, which is what I came for, and within easy walking distance of a grocery store, a great gourmet market, and a fabulous bar with local microbrews. I couldn't have asked for better.

My only complaint would be that the room smelled like stale tobacco. I know it was a no smoking room but am not sure if other guests have smoked in there or smoke can infilitrate from other rooms. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The guy working the desk on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend let me know about the local beaches. He let me know of a local beach that played "taps"- a nice remembrance for our fallen women and men in service of our country. The pool area was clean and the water a nice temperature. It's not a big area, but […] it's well maintained. I loved that there was a microwave and a mini-refrigerator with a freezer that worked surprisingly well. The mini-refrigerator was a nice large size that held drinks and food for three days for a couple. These could be nice features for families, too. The only complaint about the room was that the mattress hurt my back when I woke up both days. I have a bad back, so, I wasn't that surprised; at home we have a really good sterns and foster mattress that is awesome. But my partner who doesn't have a bad back also had back pains because of the mattress. Unfortunately, the south door of the hotel remained unlocked the entire time we were there. I mentioned it to the owner. But it didn't change. When I actually looked at the door, the lock mechanism was missing. So, I would suggest that they pay a locksmith to change it if the owner doesn't know how. The coffee that the hotel offers the guests is very good and they are generous with it. The continental b-fast is convenient- especially for kids- but not for middle age women. Overall, a pleasant experience. Read more
