The resort, located at the base of Beaver Creek Mountain between the villages of Beaver Creek and Arrowhead, is 25 feet from the Bachelor Gulch Express, a high-speed quad chairlift. Ski instruction, ski valet, and ski concierge services are available. The resort fee includes transportation to and from Beaver Creek and Arrowhead Villages.
The 21,000-square-foot spa and fitness center includes a sauna, steam room, hot and cold plunge pools, separate men's and women's locker rooms, private men's and women's relaxation rooms, and a coed rock grotto room with “lazy river” spa tub. The cardiovascular room offers views of Beaver Creek Mountain and the aerobics room features views of Vail Valley. Instruction includes yoga, spinning, aerobics, and the services of a nutritionist. There are three outdoor spa tubs and an outdoor swimming pool. Use of the fitness center, fitness classes, and access to the spa's sauna, steam, and wet therapies are included in the resort fee.
Other on-site activities include “Loan-a-Lab” walks with Bachelor, the resort's resident Labrador retriever, and tennis on four clay courts.
The Ski Nanny service is available for children, ages 5–12. Ski nannies collect participating children from their guestrooms and escort them through the ski rental and school sign-up process in the morning. Then they ensure that young guests board the ski school bus that takes them to nearby Beaver Creek Village for group lessons. Afterward, nannies escort their charges to Ritz Kids for après-ski theater, where adults can pick up their children. (Fees apply.)
Resort guests enjoy preferred tee times at Red Sky, a golf club 10 miles west that features two 18-hole championship courses -- one designed by Greg Norman and one designed by Tom Fazio. Other recreational activities in the area include bocce ball, horseshoes, badminton, disc golf, dog sledding, ice climbing, four-wheel drive tours, ice fishing, horseback riding, snowmobiling, fly fishing, gondola rides, hot air ballooning, sleigh rides, Nordic skiing, ice skating, and whitewater rafting.
The hotel is located in Bachelor Gulch, an exclusive area that is part of the Beaver Creek resort system. Beaver Creek, which also encompasses nearby Arrowhead, features 1,625 acres of skiable terrain with 146 trails: 34 percent beginner, 39 percent intermediate, and 27 percent expert. These are accessible by 14 lifts, including seven high-speed quads. The resort has a vertical rise of 3,340 feet and receives an average annual snowfall of 300 inches, plus an annual average of 300 days of sunshine. Beaver Creek includes a variety of terrain parks such as Park 101, Zoom Room, and Moonshine Terrain Park and Pipe.
Vail, eight miles east, encompasses 5,289 skiable acres with 193 trails on three main areas. Vail-Front Side is 28 percent beginner, 32 percent intermediate, and 40 percent expert. Back Bowls is 13 percent intermediate and 87 percent expert. Blue Sky Basin is 47 percent intermediate and 53 percent expert. The resort, which has a 3,450-foot vertical rise and averages 66 inches of snow each January, has 34 lifts, including one gondola and 14 high-speed quads.
