Good hotel for the price. Staff were very friendly and helpfull. The service was exelent. The beach was really nice. The room I stayed in was clean. The bed was some what hard and uncomfortable. The buffet needs to have more variety. The hotel needs a litte renovation. But overall it was a great experience and would stay again.

Hard to get reservations at any of the restaurants. service desk opens at 07:00 but there are people in line to get dinner reservations at 05:30 and they are sold out right after they open the desk. You will eat at the buffet most of the week. Buffet was average all-inclusive. Great friendly bartenders. Room was clean. All in all, I rate it OK.

The hotel was overall a good experience. Only problems I noticed or came across was some maintenance is needed in rooms I stayed in as we'll as my siblings room. Also need to make reservations quick for hotel restaurants. They fill up fast, you may be stuck eating at hotel buffet all the time like we did. Overall good all inclusive family resort.

We had a great time at the RIU Jalisco. The staff was entirely great, the room was kept clean and the grounds were very pleasing, the pools were clean and the beach kept up well. The food was average but pleasing enough, I get a cook to grill us tortillas and we make tacos and burritos with what we love. Lots of good condiments, salsas and fresh guacamole […] that we like so we were pleased w the food, Didnt do the theme restaraunts cause were doin other stuff all the time. The night time shows were typical and nothing amazing but they took care of the kids we saw in a big way. The bar in the room which is included in the price unlike other "all inclusives" was restocked regularly and the bartenders all mixed the drinks how we asked and were very accomodating so that made it extra wonderful. No buyers remorse, we had a great time, suggest the excursion to the isla marietas, we saw whales jumping, dolphins and the snorkel through the tunnel to the secluded beach was memorable. Read more

Difficult review, we travel allot and have realistic standards. The staff are great as with most Mexican hotels. The food was surprisingly good for the star rating but as normal after a week of buffets it's nice to get back home. Very hard to deal with a couple of the groups of loud drunks that unfortunately you usually get at all inclusive s, but nature […] did that with hangovers and sunburns. This however is NOT a reflection on the hotel it's a reflection on the worst of our culture, I just feel sorry for the staff having to smile at some of these people while working 14 hr days. This being said 95% of the people staying were great. The beach is great you can walk for miles, the vendors we found very good and not pushy at all, really not a problem! The disappointment was the rooms. No doors to the bathroom other than the toilet so traveling with older kids was very difficult showering etc. Two double beds for the 4 of us and the beds were without a doubt the worst I've ever slept on. Everyday waking up and taking pain killers to straighten up, we heard lots of people in their 20's and 30's complaining about the same thing. TIP: ask for mattress pads we did after day 3 and it made things a little better but still bad. Now as mentioned in other reviews the hotel is going to be redone later this year so hopefully this will be rectified. Great Beach, great stay, family friendly. You can take bus to downtown. One thing - no good food between 5pm and 6:30 pm. Now for my review of this nice hotel For one it is a riu & they have grown into one of the larger chains in the all inclusive Beach carribean Latin American market, with a great fit & finish no matter whether it is a basic riu or a Palace. Plenty of big towels. Usual Riu granite & marble. Bars with bartenders that could make any drink ordered in fast fashion. Food was fresh varied & tasty at the buffets Even had Lobster but head waiter said they only get once in awhile. Pools crisp clean well kept not run down Landscaping beautiful . The rooms where very musty from the moisture in air and we ended up with a lot of mold on one of our back packs, which the hotel wanted us to pay for dry cleaning. We switched rooms and the second one was better but we ended up with mold all over one of our boys running shoes and we through them in the garbage. The pools where good but small and where […] very crowded some of the days. There is also not enough beach chairs around the pools when it is busy. The food was average, but they ran out of a lot of dishes, especially at breakfast. The alacartes where good, but very booked up and hard to get in to. The nightly entertainment was very poor. We where there for 10 days and only seen two good shows. One was micheal Jackson and the other was a circus show. The staff was very friendly and besides the mold in our room the resort was kept very clean. I did not like the fact you had to pay to play pool in the sports bar (all inclusive). Also to play ping pong, if they had paddles and balls you had to give them a piece of your id, (drivers liscence). Same case for getting a basketball. The beach was nice, but at times you would wait up to a hour to get a boogie board for the kids and could only use them for a hour. My family and myself would look else where on our next trip. Good time, freindly staff ... the atmosphere was a bit "party like". I didn't mind it because that's what I went down there for :-) Only real complaint is the nicer restaurants have to be booked two days in advance. So the first two days you are there you don't have that option. In addition booking is done early morning first come first serve.

Very well taken care of. Kids pools are separate from adult (nice when people have had their fill of cocktails). Food is great. Store in resort is waaaay expensive. Don't loose the towel cards or lock box key! They charge a vast amount of money if so. Would go again in a minute!

We were in the hotel for 10 days from Dec.1 to Dec.11 and had a good time there. Except, when we were closer to the end, a lot of new people came from Canada and caused a big lines at breakfast and dinner time. Sometimes I stayed in line for 20 minutes. It is a good hotel for families with kids.

Hotel offers everything you need for you and your toddler. You can ask for a crib for your room, take milk from the main restaurant and refrigiarate it in your room, plus all restaurants offer high chairs. There is kids playground (very small) and a shallow pool (not fun but it's an option). I was very concerned with finding what to eat for my 2 year […] old prior to our arrivals, but restaurants offered a variety of pasta's, soups, vegetables and meat/fish suitable for small kids. There are plenty of fruits to snack on. The food is ok. You will not find lobsters or jumbo shrimps, but you do get a variety for every taste. Make sure to visit Steakhouse and Brasilian, Asian is so so. Restaurant service is good when not too crowded. There were a couple weekend mornings when we couldn't find a table though for breakfast and had to wait for 10 min just going around the room. Beach and pools are nice. Free wifi Internet is only available at the lobby and only once a day for 90 min. However, this hotel is a bit outdated, with rust on fixtures in the rooms, though it's to be expected in such a high humid climate. Also, there is only 1 elevator station with 4 elevators and our room was a bit far from it so we ended up taking stairs a lot. Also, note that some nights are noisy with music and people at the bar. It didn't bother us, but did some people. If you want fancy food and newer rooms, spend more on Palace, otherwise it's a kid's friendly hotel and we'll be back for sure. Read more

The shows are nice, the band before the show caters to the locals. You can only exchange Money at the banks in town with passort and drivers license. If you like to experience the local culture it is an expensive cab ride or a long bus trip from this resort. A $10.00 bottle of sunscreen is $20.00 at the hotel store - they take advantage of their location. The internet is no longer free - they give you 90 minutes a day in the lobby with horrible connectivity and the 90 minutes starts when you try to log on and continues to run until it expires - doesn't help to log off - your time continues to run - and no attachments. The desk help is not very helpful - their answer to problems is a small bottle of tequila. The birds have free access to the lunch restaurant, bird poop all over all the chairs - many broken. Not to mention the absence of any kind of serenity with music blasting all day long by the pool and some guy screaming into the microphone.Then there are these birds flying all over the food and picking on it - that was quite disgusting to see. And one more thing-they really need to address their 'entertainment' programs, which go on far too late and are far too loud! There is virtually nothing going on for families with kids - you are just pretty much confined to your room after dinner. Couldnt there be movies in English? Or game nights for kids? Or any sort of competition? The food was great - amazing actually. Lots of fresh fruit all day long, tons of vegetables and great variety of options for everybody. The entire hotel staff are all amazing - they all work very hard. My family and I have stayed in other RIU Resorts in Puerto Vallarta and we loved it, but this visit was not very relaxing. RIU Jalisco was very overcrowded with large families and crying young children. I didn't need an alarm every morning, there were always kids running around the halls […] screaming & crying at 8am. The adult pool was overcrowded with kids jumping in the pools splashing water all over the place. Don't get me wrong, I have kids of my own - but if I go on vacation I want to relax and not hear crying children all day long. Other hotels have full control of their pools, kids stay in the Kiddie pools and the adult pools are only for adults. Sorry RIU- I love your hotels, but this was a very disappointing stay. Read more

Very noisy at night, had to call security couple times during the night to come up the stairs and talk to young tenagers to calm them down. people would just have party all night on the hallway next to our dore.
