"Good place to make your base for a few days..."Reviewed by Daniel W. of "Tampa, FL" on Apr 7, 2012
I only stayed here one night, but this would be a great place to bring a family, and stay for several days. The 2-bedroom condo was clean and comfortable, loved the gas fireplace, comfortable bed, and the kitchen was handy. Access to the units is a little inconvenient -- lots of steps to go up and down, especially if you're on the back side. But the location is great, just outside Banff, and just a 3 minute drive to Canmore.
"Comfortable and convenient"Reviewed by Ellen K of "British Columbia" on Mar 21, 2012
The room was spacious and comfortable with a sitting space in addition to the bed. The hotel is within easy walking distance of shopping, restaurants, etc. Only complaints: 1) Early wake up call not received as requested for first morning (good thing I was up already) 2) Very noisy kids running in the hallway the first night 3) Radio came on early on second morning (I did not set it) I would stay here again.
"Radisson Hotel, Canmore, AB."Reviewed by Randy M of "Red Deer, AB." on Feb 23, 2012
Our stay was very pleasant an comfortable, and all of the staff were amazing. We had the best time in the bar with our sever who we made cry as she was laughing soo hard!! The menue was exquisite and our server, Julia, treated us like royalty! Our favourite dessert was some frozen cheese cake balls, twice!!! "To die for" is all I can say about that. I would highly recommend staying there as you are only minutes from Banff.

The front desk tied to charge me a $30 because Hotels.com made a mistake..... Only view rooms where available. It turned out the Hotel was near empty!
"Inns of Banff"
We stayed for one night at the Inns of Banff and when we got there the hotel had a smell of booz to it. The room was dirty with stains on the carpet and bed. The bed had an uncomfortable mattress cover that slid off during the night. The hotel was noisy with several parties going on in the hallway thought the night. This hotel is probably a good bet […] if you are going to ski and party but not so good if you and your girlfriend want a quiet evening. It was not my cup of tea. Read more
I have stayed at several hotels in Banff. However, this one was one of the most run-down, over-priced hotels I've stayed at anywhere in 40 years of traveling. Torn, stained carpeting everywhere. Dingy rooms with the cheap linoleum on the bathroom sink counter pealing back. Black, mildew-stained grout in the shower. The place needs to be gutted, […] and completely re-done. I made my reservation through Hotels.com and on arrival was told I could "up-grade" my room for $20, I declined and was initially given a dingy, cellar-like cave, with a single window at just below shoulder height. As the room was other-wise more than ten years past run down, I requested another room, something I cannot remember having had to do in quite some time. I was told only one other room was available. It was slightly less cave-like than the first, but equally run-down: broken bed; bathroom door did not close; cigaret burns on the bathroom floor. I then looked at the rooms in the "up-graded" building. Stained, torn carpeting in the hallways and stairs. Larger, less dated rooms, but absolutely not worth the price. Make a reservation at your risk. I only wish I had been warned. Read more

Terrible! I think the dirty carpet would have been more comfortable than the old ugly matress. The mattress looks like one you would find in an old cabin at summer camp with a flat featherbed put on top, couldn't even splurge on fitted sheets :( upon check in asked me to upgrade to a "nice hotel room" made me wonder what I got myself into. No security […] door to building, well there was one that didn't work. Really disappointed; only nice thing was the outdoor hot pool - very nice!!! This hotel is just very desperately in need of a renovation or at least some new mattresses! Read more
"inns of banff overpriced"
the rooms were very clean, but old. there is no a/c available. staff tried very hard to upsell to other more expensive rooms. not worth the money.
"Inns of Banff a good stay"
Convenient, close to town with excellent views of the mountains. The hot pool on the roof was a great perk. Only problem was the room wasn't very clean at check in (found a half eaten sandwich in the fridge and the bathroom floors appeared dirty). Also was concerned our room wasn't cleaned one day - make sure to put the "Please Clean" sign on the door. Overall, […] a good deal with good views. Read more

"noise"
a lot of noise in the hotel, I can sleep in the evening. And for the no aircondition room , the rate too expensive. I nover go there again.
"Inns of Banff - close to Lake Louise"
The staff and facilities at the Inns of Banff are the best I've ever seen. They made the end of our roadtrip through the Canadian Rockies the best part of our trip. Our entourage consisted of two families on a first-ever roadtrip through the Canadian rockies; starting at Hinton in the north, winding through Jasper, and ending at the Inns of Banff. […] It rained the entire trip. When we first arrived at the Inns of Banff, we were wet and miserable. Worse, our existing reservations didn't place each family in adjoining rooms. So we asked the staff to help. One of the staff was in training and the trainer (a character right out of the "Glee" TV show) were OUTSTANDING. Within just a few minutes, they not only put us in adjacent rooms, but they upgraded our standard rooms to loft suites at no charge. Each loft suite was so big, both families would have accepted staying together. But the staff wanted each family to have their privacy. We still got cold and wet after visiting Lake Louise that afternoon but we were able to come back to rooms with a fireplace to warm up. The rooms and bedding were clean; appearing to have have been vacuumed just before we arrived. The facilitiy feels 'new'. The beds were comfortable and each had a big, hard pillow and the soft 'scrunchy' pillows we prefer. The views of the mountains were great, even in the rain. After returning from Lake Louise wet and cold, the automatic gas fireplace warmed us up quickly. There are no buildings behind the property. Later that night, we were treated to 2 moose strolling behind the suites. The next morning, we took the Gondola ride on Banff mountain and got above the rain. Even without the Gondola ride, we could have easily enjoyed ourselves staying inside. The Inns have a pool, hot tub, store, and restaurant on the main floor and a pub with a pool table, foosball, and shuffleboard game downstairs. Maybe being cold and wet had something to do with it, but the pub food tasted great. I had their Alberta beef bu Read more

This hotel in The old section has no elevator which is a terrible handicap for older people . We will not be staying here again or not in the old section- anyway.

"Convenient corner at Banff Avenue, AB"
We initially booked a standard room, when we requested to upgrade our room, the staff promptly re-arranged everything for us, we appreciated the quality services at that inn. The window view is awesome. The location is quiet and convenient to all directions. We sure we'll come again next time.

"Hotel not returning my money"
This hotel is still holding $50 deposit which they take off you when you check in and has not released this back to me. It is extremely poor service as most hotels release this the same day when you check out. I have been waiting nearly a week now. The receptionist was quite rude when we checked in and said they were charging extra for breakfast because […] I had booked this through hotels.com so they were not making any money from it. I felt this was extremely unprofessional. The hotel itself is in an old style with shabby windows and we could hear noise from upstairs and next door. The door into our room was really heavy and stiff and we had a real struggle each time we opened it. I dont know how someone with back or neck problems would have coped. However the roof top hot tub was lovely and had a great view of the mountains. If only we could of picked that up and put it in another hotel. Read more
"The hotel in Banff based solely on price."
The hotel was priced alright, but it was very tired and grimy looking. It was also quite a distance from downtown and any activities. We picked it completely by price and it kind of delivered on that.
"Great hotel for a great price"
We had a lovely couple of days at the Inns of Banff. For such a reasonable price the room was very comfortable and clean, the staff were helpful and friendly and the hot pool was a real treat.

"Northern nights experience"
I stayed in the Swiss Chalet part of the hotel so I can't comment on other areas which are seperate from it. My room was clean and spacious, however, lighting was a problem. For those who want a cave experience - darkness - then this is the place, except for the bathroom. The night temps were in the mid 80s but there was no AC in the room, however, […] a fan was provided which is better then nothing at all. My room faced north so I also got all the noise from the transCanada Highway and Railroad so opening a window all night was not an option. Otherwise, it was fine. Read more

"Inns Of Banff, Banff, Alberta, Canada"
Excellent, friendly staff; rooms big, very clean and all have a veranda. Within walking distance to tourist shopping/eating/sight-seeing areas without being in the middle of it. There also is excellent public transit. Our locality meant we got to see the mountains when we woke up and went to sleep.

Great value,very nice people
"Pretty Good -- but not in August"
The staff here were superlative. We were greeted after a long day with interest, smiles and an upgrade that we did not seek due to their error of "overbooking'--we didn't agrue. The beds were super! Soft down mattress pads but the comforters were too warm for August. AND THERE WAS NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ENTIRE HOTEL!!! That was a big inconvenience […] for me as I slept poorly both nights. When I called to ask why the room was so hot when we entered, the desk clerk suggested I open the windows and use the fan. This was not really comfortable becuase our balcony was connected to the balconies of the room on either side, meaning someone from either room could slip in easliy. I would never stay there again in August, at any price. Read more
"Highly recommend"
We stayed at Inns of Banff from 8/3 - 8/8 for a family vacation. It is right on the main avenue of town, a little bit on the out skirts of the hotels, but very walkable in to town. We are always looking for clean, affordable and comfortable amenities as we spend very little time in the hotel. After reading previous reviews, we did do the upgrade and […] the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Hot tubs, pools and wifi in the room we a bonus. We also had a reservation mix up between the hotel and hotels.com and both resolved quickly to our satisfaction and I would recommend both. Want a nice dinner -- go to the Saltlick!! Also take some time to enjoy some of the red wines from British Columbia. If you're a beer drinker, check out the Rickards Red Read more
"Complete and affordable"
My family and I have spent two nights in August 2009 in this hotel and selected it mainly on the price and the fact it had indoor and outdoor pools. I had no high expectations, but was positively surprised about the completeness of offering against a price that was lower than most hotels in Banff.
"Nice views but poor service"
After spending a couple of weeks travelling around Canada we were looking forward to staying in Banff. However from the first moment of getting the quality of service was not good. Whilst being checked in the receptionist took two calls, making us feel that we were not her fo us. Breakfast in the morning was poor. The service was again lacking. There […] other hotels in the area which are of a higher standard and higher quality of service. The room itself was clean and good views. Not the worst place but nit somewhere wewould go again. "Farthest Hotel From Downtown"
Excepting the Rimrock and Banff Springs Hotel, this hotel claims to be right down town, but its quite a distance out. Pool was clean and warm but the hot tub developed a thick foam when turned on, and we all know what that means.. The rooms were clean but had a used feeling to them. Parking was convenient and free with the hotel room, which is always […] a bonus. We wouldn't stay here again unless there was no other choice, but overall it was a nice hotel. Read more

"Inns of Banff"
We were enjoying our time in the roof top hot tub when an arrogant male employee game by and took away people's beer cans. No one was being loud, intoxicated or inappropriate whatsoever and no children were present. The mood of the after-ski hot tub was quiet conversation between couples and small groups of adults. There was no inappropriate behavior […] whatsoever that warranted his extreme reaction. He peered into people's plastic bags and around people's towels and clothing on the benches. He could have been more discreet and less "power trip" about it. He loudly accused people of their open beer cans and their discreet plastic bags of unopened beer cans. Then he lectured the whole hot tub crowd on the "no alcohol signs". We did not have beer cans with us, but the whole spectacle was embarrassing and wrecked the relaxing serene mood of being in the open fresh air with beautiful mountain views. The employee kept up this obvious deliberate spectacle for several minutes, circling around and around the hot tub; being very obvious in his power trip. It was distracting to our soothing relaxation time and quiet mountain views, so we left the hot tub earlier than when we would have liked to with a wrecked mood. Read more
"Good Food/ friendly staff/ repairs needed"
We enjoyed our stay! The food was really good in the restaurant! (breakfast & supper) We did find it hard to get a parking spot in the parking lot because all the spots were always full both nights. The one thing we didn't like about our room was the lock on the padio door. We stayed 2 nights & didn't like leaving our belongings in the room all day […] while we were out because the lock would not stay locked ...it was broken & the padio's were right next to eachother so anyone could step on to our patio & get in. We had a Great Mountain View Room!! Read more

"Old"
This hotel is Old and in need of some updating. The sheets and bathroom were clean but the carpets have seen better days. Behind the headboards there looked to be about 2 years worth of dust. The layout of the hotel is kind of confusing with the multiple buildings and pedways between them. Every time someone ran water in another room the pipes would […] rattle, so as long as nobody was up in the night it was quiet. Read more
