"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel in the theatre district. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic room accomodations but very clean. Would recommend.

"Mediocre at Best"
Convience to bus drop and access to subways was about the best comfort offered here. If you simply need a place to stay this will work. The room was adequate. The hotel lobby was not quite a real lobby. The hallways were narrow and the room size no more than needed to survive. Not upset just looking for more. Skip this one if you can.

"No Outlets!!!"
The person checking me in was on cloud 9 and forgot to give me my key and then forgot to give me my ID back, so check-in took 15 minues. While checking in, the lobby filled with a group of 15 loud tourists and their luggage (which comes with the neighborhood), it is a tourist location. When finally in the room, I swear there was not a single outlet […] to be found in my room. I had to unplug the refrigerator to plug in my laptop. Also, the TV was a tabletop unit from 1985 or so, falsely advertised as HD tv. Read more

We really enjoyed this hotel, it was very clean and comfortable, luxury bathroom, close to shopping mall. Many Chinese restaurants close by and a 24 hour deli/convenience store right across the street. The staff were very friendly and we were able to leave our luggage at the front lobby while we went to a few shows. We also got a free room upgrade.

"Highly Satisfied"
I'm glad to say that I am very satisfied with this hotel. I was really in love with the shower they had to offer!! Great location with lots of attractions. Times Sq and lots of shopping in walking distance. 15 mins tops. Definitely would stay here again.
"Priced Right for Location"
Hotel in nice location. Parking garage right across the street for those of you driving into the City. One of our two rooms at least 95 degrees throughout the night. Hotel staff disinterested in problem. Would not consider a discount on the stay. Breakfast basically bagels and donuts. This area also very hot.
"Very good location & quality for price"
The location is an easy walk to many things including the theater district, Times Square, or the Empire state building. The room I got was clean and well maintained with a microrefrigerator. Check-in went without any hitches. The continental breakfast was quite good, although it did not begin until 7:30 which pushed my morning schedule. The hotel is […] somewhat old, the small elevator can be slow during rush periods, and there were pigeons in the windows of the neighboring building about ten feet away, but isn't that getting picky for a reasonably priced room near midtown? I was very comfortable and enjoyed the room. Read more
"Clean"
We only needed to stay one night at a reasonable price and this turned out to be great choice. Conveniently located about a block away from Penn station, clean, comfortable. Twin beds were a bit tiny but then again for the price it was a great place
"Hotel Stanford"
The rooms in the pictures and what they really look like, don't really match. I don't particularly care in this instance because I was just going there for a night. The rooms are not really updated (at least mine wasn't) and the shower head had very really pressure and it drained really really slow. The pictures on the website made it look like a very […] chic and modern boutique hotel, that's not the case. They do serve bagels, juice and coffee and the location is convenient. Read more
"We would stay there again for sure!"
We have a very nice stay at the Hotel Stanford. Our room was very comfortable and very quiet! The decorations were not brand new - but everything was clean and the staff was so nice so we really didn't mind whether it was very modern or not. Besides, the price was wonderful! Thank you!
"Hotel Stanford--great location, all you need"
We picked this hotel because it was only a few blocks from the Megabus stop, allowing us to quickly drop off our bags and start enjoying NYC for our 30 hour stay. We were impressed by the overall condition and cleanliness of the rooms. We stayed in a twin/twin room, and while somewhat small (hey, this is New York after all), the room was immaculate, […] attractively furnished in an upscale manner, and had a very spacious bathroom with plenty of shelf room for our toiletries. The continental breakfast the next morning was straightforward (assorted danish, coffee, juice), which I think was a plus...no powdered scrambled eggs or long waits at the waffle iron. Ugh. The person checking us in also accommodated our request for a room on the top floor, away from traffic noise, and the room delivered...very quiet, and with great room darkening curtains. This is not a full scale luxury hotel...the doorman didn't offer to take our bags up to our room, for instance...but overall, the staff was very friendly and professional, and we were extremely pleased with our stay. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in the Hotel Stanford again, or to recommend it to others. Read more
"Great location for NYC trip"
We were very pleased with the hotel, clean, roomy (for NY), affordable and located at the heart of everything-near Penn station, Rockefeller Plaza, times suare, Broadway, Macy's and subway stations. Would definitely book there again!

"Nice, clean, simple NYC hotel"
I wanted to try out a moderately priced hotel in the area and settled on the Stanford based on positive reviews. The room was small, as expected in NYC, and a little old fashioned, but it was clean and everything worked. So did the rest of the hotel and staff and I was pleasantly surprised. Recommended for those who want the location and dont mind modest […] (but not spartan!) accommodations. Read more
"Hotel Stanford in NYC"
While the location of the hotel was quite good, the hotel itself is showing significant signs of wear. It sorely needs an update. Room was worn thin, both the mattress and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, and the television set was old, small and had extremely limited channels. Unfortunately, the most disturbing issue was the pair of socks I found […] between the sheets at the bottom of the bed, which seemed to clearly indicate that the room had been haphazardly cleaned between guests, and that the sheets were most likely not completely fresh although the bed had been made. When I brought the situation (along with the socks) up to the front desk, they apologized but really had nothing else to say nor to offer. Quite surprising. Read more
"Hotel Stanford NY, NY - great place to stay!"
Wonderful! Amazing location within walking distance to everything. Broadway theatres, 5th Ave shopping experience, Empire State Bldg., Macy's flagship store, and more and more and more. VERY clean and the beds were absolutely comfortable and the down comforters added to the luxury. The staff was entirely accomodating, up to and including allowing my […] daughter and I to receive our accomodations much earlier than the stated check in time. What a kind gesture for two early a.m. weary travelers! All in all, we'll make it a point to stay at Hotel Stanford when the opportunity arises, without question! Did I mention affordability? Indeed, and a complimentary continental breakfast and free coffee and cookies through the day! Read more

"If You must"
I mean, yes i wanted to be near alot of the city features, but this place leaves alot to be desired. I mean for the price it isn't horrible if you just plan on crashing, but it was very much and old hotel with very old features. If you need to use lobby bathroom you share it with the Vietnamese restaurant next door, it is in the center of Vietnamese […] town. The continental breakfast is held at a little shop a joined to the hotel, seating is very limited, and if you want o grab a muffin and coffee and eat in you room, you will pay for it..literally. The rooms are musty and old, it looked liek they upgraded the bathroom and forgot to touch the room. I know the price is great but stay at the Radisson next door. Read more

"Hotel Stanford - Great Location, Quiet Rooms"
We found the location to be very convenient (on or near several subway lines and only one stop from Times Square) and our room surprisingly up to date and quiet. The continental breakfast was bagels and pastries and apples - nothing special but still nice to not have to pay extra for breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful. The lobby is a little crowded […] and hallways a little dated but all in all a great find at a good price. Read more
"good location"
this hotels is located at korean town, if you're into korean food, this is the right choice for you. getting around town is easy since it's close to a subway station. there is one thing i dislike, the heater is my room made an annoying noise at night. overall, recommended hotel for traveller that seeks cheap and strategic hotel in nyc.

"Cozy"
It was a nice and relaxful stay but continental breakfast consisted of coffee and cookies. Other than that it was a nice stay.
"Good basic hotel with good value, great location"
This hotel is very basic in most respects, but an excellent value in the neighborhood, which is a great place for tourists and business travelers alike. The room was small and basic, but everything worked fine and was clean and well kept up. No real selection of TV channels, if that matters to you. Also, I was on the 12th floor, with luggage, of course, […] and the elevator was excruciatingly slow. But all the basics were covered, and the price was a truly excellent value. Read more
Close to Penn Station, nice ammenities, decent free breakfast. Staff very friendly and courteous.
"Hotel Stanford Great Location"
I chose this hotel based on it's convenient location and relatively inexpensive rate for a single night stay in NYC. We had a room on the 6th floor of this 11th floor hotel and were able to check in two hours early! Gave us an opportunity to explore without lugging our suitcase around the city. Our room was quiet and comfortable. Elevator a bit slow […] as mentioned in other reviews. Also morning breakfast was as expected for a freebie. We had a cup of tea and split the last croissant. Our train didn't leave until later in the day and I asked if we could store our suitcase after checking out. The helpful clerk said it was a complimentary service! Gave a tip to the bellman when retrieving our bag. Pleased with the overall value and hotel experience. Felt safe in the Korean neighborhood. Walking distance to American Girl store and Rockefeller Center and Penn Station. Read more
"Awesome Stay"
We stayed in the executive suite with our two sons 20 and 24. Lots of room for luggage, great furniture and decor! Rooms were VERY CLEAN. Beds and pillows great and bathroom was super and clean. Staff friendly and all were helpful and very pleasant. We all liked the breakfast. Loved 2nd floor room. Location was wonderful. We highly recommend Hotel Standford!!! Excellent Location! Staff very helpful. Room was well kept. Thanks for a very enjoyable stay!
"Excellent value"
We loved the Hotel Stanford! The location could not be beat--only a few seconds to walk to a great subway that connected to lots of lines. Fantastic service from start to finish from the hotel staff. Our room was surprisingly spacious, modern, and stylish. I would definitely stay there again!
"Location is good but the hotel is old"
This proprietor has an old hotel in a good location and is stuck. Rooms are small, with some upgrades and the room was clean. If you are used to staying in brand name hotels don't stay here. You'll be disappointed. If you are used to traveling in Europe staying in older hotels you might find this hotel acceptable. It may be worth paying the extra $100 […] per night and staying in a brand hotel you know and recognize. They are trying here but the venue has seen it's best days. Read more
"Good Pick"
The hotel itself was very nice and had very comfy ammenities like a lounge that served free water, tea and cookies and had free internet access during the day and (non-free) happy hour in the evening. The room was sparse, but clean and comfortable. The location is two blocks from Madison Square Garden, and 10 blocks from Times Square, can't be that […] ! Read more
"Good location, dirty inside"
The inside of the hotel room was dirty in general. Above all doors there was an inch of dust buildup. The room smelled quite funny. The window to the outside looked down an ally with two large buildings blocking all light. The bathroom fan didn't work well. The location and staff are great, the hotel just needs a better cleaning crew.

"Not too bad"
I have heard mixed reviews for this place, but I have to say I paid what I could afford/I was willing to pay and got the service so it wasn't bad if I have to say. Very convenient spot as well. There are few things that I could say to improve my stay, One the room was a bit colder and couldn't control the temperature. Two the front desk only had 1 […] person working and he was on the phone for a long time and didn't say anything like "Please wait and I will assist you" type thing, so I ended up waiting for 10 minutes without knowing what to do. They should place more front desk people to help customers out. Read more
"missing some basic amenities"
There was no coffee machine in the room, and no coffee in lobby, and the breakfast room doesn't open until 7:30. I looked into the breakfast room when it finally did open and it was so depressing looking that I gave up. Also very annoying to have to pay for wifi these days.
"Excellent Location / Very Cute Hotel"
Our stay at the Hotel Stanford was just perfect. The beds wern't the most comfortable, but were cozy enough. The bathroom was very clean, the linens were clean and the room was super cute. It is definately older, but had lots of character. The only real complaint was that the room was hot. The thermostat did not work, but I think that's because there […] is no individually control over the room temperature. Since it was cold outside, the heat was on and there was nothing we could do to cool it down. We just kept the windows open, but since our room was at the end of a long alleyway, there wasn't much of a breeze. But who spends a lot of time in their room anyway. The breakfast was simple but great for the start of a busy day of sightseeing. The location was absolutely perfect...right next to a subway station and lots of sights and Macy's! Overall, we had a great time at the Hotel Stanford. Read more

"Stanford Hotel in New York"
The location is ok but the overall condition of the hotel is horrible. I think the last time the place was cleaned was back in the 90's.
"My Stay at the Stanford Hotel in NYC-Midtown"
Front desk person did not speak clear and fluent English-hard to understand. I think he was a trainee. Room was dark and dreary and the TV was so small you could'nt really see it well when in bed. Came down for free breakfast but no room to sit. after five minutes waiting I left. NO FREE WIRELESS INTERNET CONNECTION. Sorry, that inexcusable. No workout […] room. I won't be returning. Read more
"Clean Room, Large Room, No View"
The Hotel was very Clean. We arrived early about 1:00 p.m. and wanted them to store out bags but they said they had a room available now. Very nice feature. The room had two windows but they were facing an air conditioner and the other window faced another building. The room however was pleasant and large. We had a very comfortable sofa and a chair […] plus a King size bed. They offered free coffee but if you are making reservations for that reason don't the coffee was not very good. The free breakfast was muffins, bagels, donuts, coffee, tea, apples. The staff was very friendly but many of the staff members did not seem to speak English. One girl said hello and have a nice day but if you asked her anything else she did not understand. The location was a pleasant 1/2 hour medium paced walk to Broadway. Read more
"great location, super clean hotel"
We chose this hotel for location and price. Pleased with both. It is an older hotel and we had our concerns, ultimately as long as it was clean we would be happy. It was very clean, cleaner than some upper scale hotels i have been in. Our room was a small 2 twin bed room on the 3rd fl. near the elevator (which we didn't use, always on the 7th floor, […] we walked to the 3rd) there was minimal noise. I would suggest getting a walkable floor as the elevator is slow and Small, you will wait! Our only 2 complaints is that the cable was down and we could only watch a few channels on the TV. They said it was the whole city but my daughter 5 blockes over had no troubles!? And the heat in our room kept kicking off (62 at one point and it was Cold outside) They were very quick to come up and fix it and soon brought us a portable radiator in case it happened again. Im sure that the snow in the city on the 30th of October had the heating system alittle confused;) The staff was very curtious. The continetal breakfast is adequate, you do have to eat in the very small eating area. we waited on day two for about 5-10 minutes. Bagels, donuts, coffee, juice n milk. I will definately stay here again. Had the oppertunity to check out a 2 double bed room while they were cleaning, much more spacious and might be just right for a girl weekend. Read more
