My wife and I spent hours on the net trying to find the right hotel at the right price. We stayed over New years and the location was perfect, right next to the Raddison and a subway entrance for 34th street subway. My wife was happy too because Macy's was also just around the corner. We stayed in room 1009, it was clean a good size and had a clean and modernish bathroom. Our only complaint would be that it was hot despite the temp control turned down to min, however there were two windows and they opened so we could cool the room down. Also some times in the middle of the night there were some strange noises from I think heating pipes. But all round a great place to stay

On previous visits to New York we have stayed at well known chain hotels and have been disappointed by the overall standard. However this independant hotel was a pleasant surprise. Upgrading work is obviously ongoing but the results are very pleasing. The room we stayed in had good quality fittings and a good bed. If there was a negative, it would be that the room was a little small, but we were hardly ever in it. Perhaps tea/coffee making facilities would also have been nice. A complimentary breakfast was also provided, which was more than adequate. The hotel was also quiet at night. The hotel is well placed for tourist locations, and as such I would say that this hotel was very good value and would stay there again on my next visit.

The two positive things I have to admit were the complimentary breakfast and the location. The room was dark, dirty and cold. No control for AC/Furness. Towells only for one person. The bed was very small and more like a hammock. After unplugging the fridge only the honking from the street was annoying. The shower was more like a trickle. We stayed already in Chicago, Washington, Toronto, ... for less than half the price. But all hotels were better.

The furniture, beds, and tv were older (but still satisfactory) One morning, the electricity in our bathroom was out for about 2 hours but came back on before we made it to the front desk to complain. Also the door was kind of hard to close (so we made an extra effort to make sure it was completely closed and locked every time we left. Upon returning one day, after being gone about 5-6 hours, we found the door cracked open and unlocked. We had left the do not disturb sign on the door so no one should have been entering our room, but they clearly did. Nothing was missing. We did not try the continental breakfast but the rest of our stay went smoothly.

We found that our room was, in fact, small, but had enough room for the two of us and our short stay. The bathroom was large and updated and made for a more comfortable visit. The elevator did run a little slow, but it added to the feel of the old style buildings in the area. Korea Town was nice and I did not feel unsafe at any time. The subway stop is steps away, and it's a great mid town location for the tourist.

We stayed for a week and were very pleased with the hotel, staff, and location. Close to attractions, subways and bus lines, and great restaurants. The only downside was trying to take part in the complimentary continental breakfast(bagels and pastries, coffee and juice). Seating is limited in the breakfast area, and they make you wait in line until seating is available before picking up any food. The line was really long on the weekend. If you prefer to take a bagel and coffee to go, they charge $10/person. Rather than spend an hour or more waiting to get our breakfast in the morning, we opted to pick up breakfast elsewhere. Everything else about the stay was great though.

This hotel is in the centre of midtown manhattan and for that it's a perfect location. It's in the middle of koreatown so plenty of lovely restaurants around to pick from. Checking in was simple with us being allowed to do so early as NYC transport was surprisingly on time. We stayed on the 4th floor which was an elevator trip away, however we did have to use the freight one as the guest one was being worked on at the time - save yourself time and effort by just taking the stairs, also doesn't make you feel too bad about eating all the food that's available!! Room was pleasant and clean, however NO AC, major bone of contention with us as it was incredibly humid when we visited. Breakfast that was offered wasn't up to much, could do with more variety-only pastry and orange juice available, is fruit that hard to come by?! also if you don't get there early you'll be left with the bare minimum and will have to wait a good few minutes queueing before you can eat

1. Stay here only in winter with snow on the streets. The hotel a/c is weak to the point of being non-existent and the room is insufferably hot once the outside temperature exceeds 68 deg F (20 centgrd). 2. Be prepared for long waits at the upper floors, since there is only one small, slow elevator. 3. Earlier, you could not take even a cup of coffee out of the "free" continental breakfast to your room, say for your room-mate, because "food in the room attracts pests" according to management (but you could buy food from outside and take it up, no one checked obviously). To avoid the inevitable ensuing nonsensical arguments, that sign has been removed and now there is a new sign saying a $10 charge for taking anything out of the free breakfast area. Not hospitable at all. 4. However, the location is central and convenient to Penn station and the DC bus stops and the room is clean.
