"A Very Disappointing Hotel Destination"
It was a shocking disappointment. The first thing to notice is that the sleep sofa's mechanism was exposed with the metal bar by which the bed is raised uncovered. Where were the pillows? The room was dingy so opening the drapes seemed appropriate. The windows had not been washed in months. Someone had run his (or her) finger on the surface demonstrating […] a clean arc on the pane. There was a dead baby roach in the bath tub. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very clean, great price, very comfortable."
Staff was excellent, very nice accommodations for a very good price.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very convenient to walk to most destinations. Lots of restaurants, stores nearby. Felt safe with family. Staff was very kind and helpful. Only slight negative, was the continental breakfast offered. Mainly bagel or bread products with hot water for tea or coffee. Some green apples if were in line early enough.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"HOT IN NOVEMBER"
Overall out stay was great, except our rooms were kept at 80 degrees and no way to control the temp even with the thermostat in the room. 2 calls per day telling them to NOT turn the heat on in our room again! It was like a sauna, even at night when the temps outside were in the 20's our rooms were so hot. Many nights of no sleep!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very good Hotel, great location, close to city atractions, metro, penn station.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming structure, needs work inside"
Beautiful exterior, close to Penn Station, reasonably priced. Quaint structure, nice lounge for a glass of wine or a beer. The beds were too hard for our liking (to each his own, I know). The extra blankets we got from the front desk had holes. The AC vent in the ceiling was falling out of the ceiling.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect girls getaway"
I made our reservation for 8, got 2 junior suites and hoped for the best. I was not disappointed nor were my girlfriends, we were high fiving!!! Fantastic staff took our bags so we could relax in the lounge with a cup of coffee before hitting the streets to shop. Excellent location to shop, eat, metro, sightseeing. This is our new go-to for our girls […] getaways. The junior suite was roomy for us all to hang together, comfy beds and newly remodeled bathroom. Highly recommend. "Can't say much just an OK hotels"
The people were great and very nice always looking to help. I go to NYC a couple times a years for ranger games at MSG and usually stay at a different hotel but they were booked. The hotel was close to everything and the staff was very nice were the only good things. The rooms were not the best the bathroom could of used some work and kind of smelt […] bad and the floor just looked dirty in the bed room and the beds were not comfortable and there was only 2 outlets one in the bathroom and the other was on the otherside of the room not near the bed which I thought was just weird it was not a terrible stay but I will not go back Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I nabbed a room at this hotel last minute, so I didn't have very high hopes for my experience --but it was great! Courteous staff, clean rooms, and close to so much. The only thing I would note is that the elevator is a little slow if you're one of the top floors, but that can be expected of an older building. Would definitely stay again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel convenient to the subway"
I unexpectedly needed a last minute hotel. I checked on Thursday and found a booking at this hotel for the following night, a Friday in NYC. I was very impressed with the room which was newly renovated. The bathroom was nicely done, the bedding was clean, new flat screen tv. Continental breakfast included. That night I was able to walk to end of the […] block and hope on the orange line to head to the West Village. The next day I hopped on and headed to Times Square. I will definitely try to stay in this hotel the next time I'm in NYC. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Shocked By Horrible Service"
We were very excited to stay at this hotel based on good reviews we found online. The location worked out very well for us too. Unfortunately, the actual experience was so far from what we expected. FIRST: Internet doesn't work. I even paid $20 for it and it didn't work. If you are expecting to do any emails etc from your room… you are out of luck. […] You will need to go to a cafe or another hotel lobby with internet. SECOND: Central heating in the entire building forces you to accept the same temperature as everyone else. You can't adjust your own room temperature. You are hosed. THIRD: Horribly front desk service. They never answer their phones. One night I called 4 times in a row and it just continued to ring. FOURTH: The morning breakfast it just a bagel and some bad pastries. Might as well not eat it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Wonderful stay for a business trip, excellent Midtown location, perfect for walking, catching a cab or jumping onto subways. Great staff, very comfortable beds, clean rooms at a very reasonable price. Clean bathroom with high powered hair dryer (a must for the ladies). Had a 2 bed suite for 2 people which was a nice size and included a view of the street […] below. Will definitely be staying again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Koreatown Mediocrity (at Best)"
Incredibly warm - too cheap to turn on a/c! OLD, run down (elevator takes ten minutes to go tom floor 12 down to 1). Bed linens were thin, and white, but not pristine! :-( The Service was pretty good, but this place is next to a Radisson, so that should be expected. The only good things about this place are that it's cheap, near a good DuaneReade, and […] you get slooooow WiFi for free. You'll get breakfast if you figure out what time it is (7:30 or 8 - there is conflicting information in it's printed guest brochures/signs)! AND, there are only ten seats in the breakfast nook; if you get there and seats are taken, you have to wait. You cannot take anything to go - not 1 banana or 1 apple, UNLESS YOU PAY TEN DOLLARS! "Decent value close to Penn Station area"
Could use some updating, but compensations are efficient and friendly front desk staff, convenient Korea Town location very near Penn Station and Madison Square Garden; and modest price for NYCGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient to lower Manhattan"
I've stayed at the Stanford every time I've gone to New York over the last 5 or so years, and I still recommend it. It's perfect as a home base for any kind of trip to NY that I take. I don't travel to stay in a hotel, I stay in a hotel because I have traveled to the area for either business or personal reasons and the room is a place to go when the […] business is done. The Stanford is a short walk from Penn Station/Madison Square Garden and since I prefer to travel to NY by rail, that's perfect. It's a few blocks from Times Square, around the corner from the Empire State Building, and there's a subway station practically at the front door. It's also right on Manhattan's "Korea Way," another plus to me as a lover of Korean cuisine. Fancy? No. Lavish? No again. But in my opinion, it's a good value for the price, in a very good location, clean, and the staff are always very polite. Negatives? Well, the elevator could be a little quicker and the view out my window was awful, but in lower Manhattan, there's not much interesting to see out a hotel window anyhow. "THE WORST HOTEL STAY EVER"
THIS IS BY FAR ONE OF THE WORST HOTELS WITHIN THE EAST COAST TO STAY FOR A MINTUE. FROM THE TIME, WE FIRST ARRIVED TO THE LOBBY THERE WAS A STRONG ODOR WHICH SMELLED LIKE WASTE. THE FRONT DESK ATTENDANT SEEMED TO BE VERY CLUELESS AND PROVIDE LACK OF INFORMATION REGRADING THE HOTEL ACCOMMEDATIONS AND SURROUNDING AREAS. UPON ENTERING THE ACTUAL HOTEL […] ROOM THE HEAT WAS UNBEARABLE WHICH LEAD US TO BEGIN SWEATING HORRIBLY THROUHOUT THE NIGHT EVEN AFTER CONTACTING THE FRONT MORE THAN THREE TIMES. IT SHOULD BE NOTED, THE FURNITURE WITHIN THE ROOM WAS OLD, SMELLED, APPEARED TO HAVE LARGE AMOUNTS OF HORRIBLE STAINS, AND ONE OF THE BEDS WAS ALMOST FALLING TO THE FLOOR. FURTHERMORE, WE REQUESTED A REFUND DUE TO THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND WERE TOLD NO COUNTLESS OF TIMES IN A RUDE MANNER AND WAS ONLY GIVEN A $70 DISCOUNT FOR ONE NIGHT. LAST BUT NOT LEAST WE WERE TOLD WE COULDNT SET WITHIN THE LOUNGE AREA AND ASKED TO LEAVE AFTER CLEARLY STATING WE WERE HOTEL GUESTS. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. "close to Madison Square Garden & Penn Station"
The room was wonderful...clean and quite large. But the AC was ridiculous! The thermostat in our room was useless and we were constantly calling the front desk to have our A/C turned on. The average temp was 76 degrees and we could not make anyone understand that we wanted our room around 70. Sleeping was pitiful since our air was consistantly turned […] off and we had to call every hour just to get mildly cool air through the vents. Too expensive for the discomfort. Will NOT stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The first night I was in a room with bed covers from the 1970s. The room had no window and the noise from upstairs and the building next door was too loud to allow me to sleep. The room I received on the second night was much better and what I would expect for $200 a night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
They wouldn't let us take our car out for the day without paying 30.00 again, not fair and we were told we could take the car out and only pay per day rate somebody lied to us.we took the train to Staten Island instead of driving and it cost .me 50.00 round trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Meh -- expensive and annoying."
Water was shut off the first night I was there. Single elevator made for long waits to get in and out. Breakfast was crowded, and there was a $10 charge for taking food out of the cramped dining area.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Right in the center of everything."
We enjoyed our stay at the Stanford. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We stayed on the second floor so we rarely used the elevator but it seemed like there wasn't really a long wait for one. The room is the regular size of a room in NYC. The location of the hotel is great because you can get to anywhere fast, Times Square is a short walk […] and a subway entrance is just down from the hotel. We would definitely stay here again, the only thing that was not so great was the air conditioning. It never got cool enough, but it was still okay. It is not like we were sweating or anything. I recommend this hotel, it has great location, great staff, and the rooms are very adequate. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Quick NY business trip"
The hotel was clean and our rooms were ready when we wanted to check in. The AC vent in my room would not open or blow any cool air so my room was about a constant 80 degrees. "I'd stay here again"
This hotel is about a 15 minute walk from Penn Station. The rooms are small, but not on NYC standards. The view from my window was a brick wall, which was a little disappointing. It was quite, convenient and had a nice bakery down stairs. The staff was friendly, too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was in New York last week during the worst heat wave of recent years but the Hotel Stanford was a lovely respite from the heat. It is in Korea Town and subway stops literally around the corner which made daily travel really convenient and easy. The boutique hotel had a fabulous international feel but with lots of amenities including complimentary […] breakfast, free internet which are important to me. It was clean, comfortable and the staff was superb. You must treat yourself to Korean Barbeque (high end) across the street at the Gaonnuri Korean Restaurant on the 39th Floor. Be sure to request a table by the window because we learned despite a reservation a window view must be asked for! The food was exquisite! I will stay at the Hotel Stanford again and recommend it highly. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel close to Times Square"
I had a good experience while staying in Stanford hotel. The staff was very helpfull and the room was clean and comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
First of all, when we asked for an extra bed, they said it was impossible to fit one in the room. Also, the AC was not working for the first two nights we stayed there. In addition to that, when we called the front desk to ask for some spoons and forks, they said the hotel does not provide any. Even though the hotel provides complementary breakfast, […] they said that they did not have any in the entire hotel. The hotel also did not have a gym and the only food you will find after 10pm is Korean Dining. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Central location in Midtown NYC"
I booked this hotel at the last minute (the day before arrival) based on two factors: the location and the fact that they had a suite available as I was meeting a friend and we were both bringing our young children. Unfortunately, the "suite" with "separate sitting area" was actually one large room, which made our stay less than optimal. The furnishings […] themselves were not terrible, but a bit tired. The air conditioning was not working well and our visit was during the weeklong heat wave. Staff was friendly and helpful, but that alone wouldn't be enough to get me to stay here again. Needs an update (including nice linens) and more accurate room descriptions. Couches in reception area should be replaced (dirty and old) and the first floor bathroom off the lobby was downright scary. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"very convenient to penn station"
I was dismayed that check-in wasn't until 3 PM--I needed my room at 1 PM. They offered me an upgraded room that was ready then for $10 more and I took it. The room was fine. The elevator service isn't good--they only have one elevator but a hotel this size needs two. Twice I ended up walking down the stairs from my room on the 8th floor. Going up I […] didn't encounter a problem. The free breakfast is mediocre. However, unless you want luxury, this hotel is fine. I've stayed here several times and will continue to do so.
