"Circa 50s hotel"
The hotel was off Times Square about a block. The bed was comfortable; the only window provided a view of another brick wall of the hotel; the hair dryer did not work; the hotel had no ATM; the price included their version of a continental breakfast and it was close to where we met our bus. Overall the hotel was quiet and the room was comfortable and […] the rate was competitive (less than most other hotels). The flat screen TV was evidence of their arrival in the 21st century. We were there for one night. Your hotel.com service is a good one. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location!"
In the shadow of the Empire State Building, 300 yards from the Garden and Penn Station. An easy walk, taxi or subway ride south to the tip of Manhatten or north to Central Park. A great value and location!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Disgusting"
Not sure how this hotel is getting good reviews. It was noisy, the AC didn't work and after being told that they were sold out and couldn't move us I contacted HOTELS.com to complain and SURPRISE the hotel had a room that became available! So the room went from a 1 to a 2 rating maybe. Very old and run down. Stayed at another hotel in TSq earlier and […] was much happier. This place was gross. Beds were the worse than a chain motel. Only nice thing was the bathroom. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Great location near Penn Station. It was convenient to the subway and to the places that we were looking to go that day. I would definitely stay there again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good value for your money"
For a manhatten hotel the complementary breakfast should be upgraded vastly. Also guest should not have to wait for other guest to finish eating . Folks should be slowed to take food back to the room if no seats are readily availableGenuine Expedia guest review
"close to subway and very close to shopping centerI"
I enjoyed my stay. It was a great price for a good, clean, friendly, hotel. I will stay there again. I did suggest to them to put full length mirrors behind the closet doors. There's no plalce to check yourself out before you leave.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pleasant Surprize!"
My daughter and I stayed 1 night in NYC and were happy to have found this place for our 2 days of fun. We had an easy walk to Times Square, with shops & eateries along the way, subway station was only steps away. Most of all, the hotel staff was courteous and accommodative. We checked in early as room was ready, and eventhough we had to check out before […] departing the city, we stored the luggage and had a very nice coffee lounge to stay in and continue using free wi-fi. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good for a short stay"
We had a great experience with Hotel Stanford. Clean and comfortable bed and sheets and located one block from the Empire State building. Staff was very friendly also. Not a great view but we weren't there to stare out the window. Overall no problems except we wish there was free wifi in the rooms and not just the second floor.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Budget Hotel"
Not a luxury hotel, but the staff was efficient and attentive. Room was clean and sufficient, especially if you are in New York to be OUT of your room for most of the time. Great pastries in the cafe next door! Great location with a subway stop right on the corner.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great price and great location"
Small hotel in ideal location. Nice and clean and won't break the bankGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Love It"
We always stay at the Stanford when we are in town. It is close to everything and we love it. The people are wonderful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mediocre at Best"
Convience to bus drop and access to subways was about the best comfort offered here. If you simply need a place to stay this will work. The room was adequate. The hotel lobby was not quite a real lobby. The hallways were narrow and the room size no more than needed to survive. Not upset just looking for more. Skip this one if you can.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"No Outlets!!!"
The person checking me in was on cloud 9 and forgot to give me my key and then forgot to give me my ID back, so check-in took 15 minues. While checking in, the lobby filled with a group of 15 loud tourists and their luggage (which comes with the neighborhood), it is a tourist location. When finally in the room, I swear there was not a single outlet […] to be found in my room. I had to unplug the refrigerator to plug in my laptop. Also, the TV was a tabletop unit from 1985 or so, falsely advertised as HD tv. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We really enjoyed this hotel, it was very clean and comfortable, luxury bathroom, close to shopping mall. Many Chinese restaurants close by and a 24 hour deli/convenience store right across the street. The staff were very friendly and we were able to leave our luggage at the front lobby while we went to a few shows. We also got a free room upgrade.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Highly Satisfied"
I'm glad to say that I am very satisfied with this hotel. I was really in love with the shower they had to offer!! Great location with lots of attractions. Times Sq and lots of shopping in walking distance. 15 mins tops. Definitely would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Priced Right for Location"
Hotel in nice location. Parking garage right across the street for those of you driving into the City. One of our two rooms at least 95 degrees throughout the night. Hotel staff disinterested in problem. Would not consider a discount on the stay. Breakfast basically bagels and donuts. This area also very hot.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very good location & quality for price"
The location is an easy walk to many things including the theater district, Times Square, or the Empire state building. The room I got was clean and well maintained with a microrefrigerator. Check-in went without any hitches. The continental breakfast was quite good, although it did not begin until 7:30 which pushed my morning schedule. The hotel is […] somewhat old, the small elevator can be slow during rush periods, and there were pigeons in the windows of the neighboring building about ten feet away, but isn't that getting picky for a reasonably priced room near midtown? I was very comfortable and enjoyed the room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean"
We only needed to stay one night at a reasonable price and this turned out to be great choice. Conveniently located about a block away from Penn station, clean, comfortable. Twin beds were a bit tiny but then again for the price it was a great placeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel Stanford"
The rooms in the pictures and what they really look like, don't really match. I don't particularly care in this instance because I was just going there for a night. The rooms are not really updated (at least mine wasn't) and the shower head had very really pressure and it drained really really slow. The pictures on the website made it look like a very […] chic and modern boutique hotel, that's not the case. They do serve bagels, juice and coffee and the location is convenient. "We would stay there again for sure!"
We have a very nice stay at the Hotel Stanford. Our room was very comfortable and very quiet! The decorations were not brand new - but everything was clean and the staff was so nice so we really didn't mind whether it was very modern or not. Besides, the price was wonderful! Thank you!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel - great location."
This is a great hotel - especially if you'd like to be close to Madison Square Gardens. It's right on the NRQ line and not far from 42nd street.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Stanford--great location, all you need"
We picked this hotel because it was only a few blocks from the Megabus stop, allowing us to quickly drop off our bags and start enjoying NYC for our 30 hour stay. We were impressed by the overall condition and cleanliness of the rooms. We stayed in a twin/twin room, and while somewhat small (hey, this is New York after all), the room was immaculate, […] attractively furnished in an upscale manner, and had a very spacious bathroom with plenty of shelf room for our toiletries. The continental breakfast the next morning was straightforward (assorted danish, coffee, juice), which I think was a plus...no powdered scrambled eggs or long waits at the waffle iron. Ugh. The person checking us in also accommodated our request for a room on the top floor, away from traffic noise, and the room delivered...very quiet, and with great room darkening curtains. This is not a full scale luxury hotel...the doorman didn't offer to take our bags up to our room, for instance...but overall, the staff was very friendly and professional, and we were extremely pleased with our stay. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in the Hotel Stanford again, or to recommend it to others. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"It was very nice and fine hotel"
Everything is fine and good. But wireless internet service is available in the lobby. Charge at the room is too high, you need to negitiate with the hotel including the wireless service.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location for NYC trip"
We were very pleased with the hotel, clean, roomy (for NY), affordable and located at the heart of everything-near Penn station, Rockefeller Plaza, times suare, Broadway, Macy's and subway stations. Would definitely book there again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bad and pretentios well located hotel"
It is amazing that such an expensive and pretentious self named "boutique" hotel has only one elevator, such a bad breakfast, horrible toileteries, a terrible noise like hammering every time the heather worked, no free wi-fi in the rooms (very expensive service of wi-fi if you wanted to contract this). But the worse is the noise of the heathers. Also, […] the horrible quality of the telephone line in the room cousing lot of distortions. The only good thing of this hotel is it's location. "Nice, clean, simple NYC hotel"
I wanted to try out a moderately priced hotel in the area and settled on the Stanford based on positive reviews. The room was small, as expected in NYC, and a little old fashioned, but it was clean and everything worked. So did the rest of the hotel and staff and I was pleasantly surprised. Recommended for those who want the location and dont mind modest […] (but not spartan!) accommodations. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
