What a perfect spot. The people here really were amazing. From there pleasant attitude, to their bar trickery you cannot beat this place. It was great. The room was slightly tighter than we would have liked, but it was fine. The beach access was unbeatable, quiet, beach bar, lunch spot, etc. It all was easy and great. The staff was nice and friendly. The pool bar was a great spot for sunset as well.

The Amsterdam Manor was a thoroughly pleasant experience. It is quiet, comfortable, and impeccably clean. The service could not be more courteous. The beach across the street is beautiful but not crowded. "Passions," its restaurant on the beach for dinner, has outstanding food as well as a magnificent setting.

This hotel was just perfect. We had booked a studio hotel room and when we got there, they upgraded us to a two-bedroom apartment. All rooms have nice kitchen areas and balconies. It is in walking distance to a nice grocery store if you want to make your own breakfast or lunch, but the prices were so reasonable, and the food so good that we didn't end […] up doing that at all. The daily breakfast buffet was big, yummy and had everything you could want. And it was only $12 per person. The beach was quiet and beautiful with a bar that served yummy cocktails and food (fish tacos are highly recommended). We had walked through other hotels when shopping and they were packed to the brim with people. Amsterdam Manor was a smaller hotel and therefore quiet, but it didn't sacrifice any luxuries. Pros: Location - quiet place. Walk across the street to the nice long beach with plenty of chairs. Staff was extremely friendly, helpful. It's a 5-10 minute walk to a large grocery store which is great with the kitchenette. Dinner at Passions on the beach is great with the same great staff as the hotel. The property is steps from Eagle Beach and not too big. Our deluxe suite had everything one would need, full kitchen with microwave & full size refrigerator and coffee maker, 2 TV's, Wi-Fi, comfortable furnture and a patio. Very nice place to stay with a wonderful beach just across the road. The room only had two solid wood straight back chairs and no upholstered seating. Also the bed pillows had almost no filling. Otherwise the room was very nice and had a small kitchenette.

We love staying at the Amsterdam - the beach is beautiful and the staff is very willing to help make your stay a special one. E.g. it was my husband's 70th birthday and they gave us a bottle of wine with balloons tied to it. The standard studio is small but the outdoor balcony made the space sufficient. It is one of the few hotels that allows pets.

Beach was not crowded, happy hour is every day from 5 - 6 PM then 9 - 10 PM! $1 beer and specialty drinks were such a treat. Free wi-fi! We expected a boutique hotel experience but also expected more from the Amsterdam Manor. The room was nice but regulating the air conditioning took a couple of days to get the hang of and then it went from chilly to sweltering. The dehumidifier that was in the room was helpful but we had to get up every 4 hours or so to dump out the water it had collected. […] There is only one full-time restaurant, Mango's, and it was the biggest disappointment of the hotel. The breakfast was especially bad so we ate there our first morning and didn't go back. However, the appetizers we ordered during happy hour were disappointing as well. This was the first time away from our 2 yo on vacation without him. From the time we arrived, our room was upgraded for free to ocean view suite which was amazing ! The people who work there are very helpful & the location is unbelievable. We did rent a car which we were happy about. There is a fun festival in SanNicholas on thur starting around 8 pm, […] but it is a little far away so it was nice to have the flexibility. Nice location, nice beach. The hotel could have done a better job cleaning up trash and cig butts (why do smokers think that the beach is a large ash tray???). This was a wonderful hotel. The location was great; it was near the condominium area at Eagle Beach and away from the more crowded high rise tourist area. Very clean, quiet and nice hotel located in the less busy low-rise hotel area. Had to cross a street to get to the beach, but the pool area was almost more relaxing to stay at. Service is friendly and attentive, but they do not bother you to buy. Bus stops right in front of the hotel so it is just a few minutes to get to the high rise area restaurants […] or to the food stores near downtown. Restaurants are only average quality but over-priced everywhere on the island, including at this hotel. I would not pay for all inclusive. Our first visit to Aruba and I am so glad we chose the Amsterdam Manor. It was in a perfect location, right across from the beach, with two restaurants to choose from; both excellent. Very friendly, helpful staff. Jet ski rentals were right on the beach and you can do as little or as much as you want.

If you are looking for a quiet place with an uncrowded beach right there, this is for you. If you just want to lay around and relax and do very little, it's great for that. There is a bar on the beach and you can order lunch and they set up beautiful tables for dinner on the beach at night, but if you are looking for lots of restaurants and nightlife […] you need to go to Palm Beach or Oranjestad. Neither of which is far at all by bus for 1.30 each way. It stops right out front about every half hour or sooner. Also the pool here is small and can be overrun with kids during the afternoon but other times it is empty and very pleasant. Next door at La Cabana they have Dunkin Donuts and Sbarro,and a restaurant and a casino in the back. It's more action packed but they pull in the sidewalks very early in this area. The staff was very nice and helps with any activities you might want to book. Only real complaint was the bed was hard but the rooms have kitchens and are spacious with french doors and a patio. Only negative feedback was the slowness of a breakfast order at the Mango. It took 1.25 hours to get 7 breakfast orders outside of the continental service. We also had a Salsa party where the stage was literally 2 feet from our front door. The music started at 3:00 in the afternoon, and lasted until 9:30.
