"Excellent base to explore greater Miami"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
Hotel staff very friendly. nice lobby, good breakfast with fresh fruits and no plastic dishes. After complaining about the size of suite we were sold for 5 persons (definitely too small and not a fair sale) we were given complimentary upgrade to a two bed room suite by the manager which was very much appreciated. Free parking and free wireless internet are very convenient as well as close access to highway and airport.

Free shuttle to the hotel from airport. Nice exercise room and pool. Room was very comfortable, staff friendly, and hotel was well-maintained and clean. Shuttle provided by hotel to points of interest and cruiseport. Definite return stay next time catching a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale.

"Great Hotel"
Great hotel, super clean, super comfortable, well located Only problem, has no wi-fi in the room, only in the lobby and had no room service

"courtyard marriott in miami"
hotel was basically clean but needs to have rooms modernized. furniture is basically cheap. needs to be updated. carpet was stained. hallways smelled. terrible neighborhood. homeless everywhere. looked like a slum area. security was okay but felt unsafe in neighborhood.

"The Courtyard by Marriott-Miami"
This hotel has been renovated recently and was quite comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was good for a Courtyard.
"eh"
Marriott seems to be positioning the Courtyard brand to compete with other moderately-priced, trendy-traveller friendly hotels (think Aloft) but they clearly seem out of their element if this hotel is an indication. Color schemes are the worst of the '50s/'60s and the combined bar/lobby/restaurant looked so uninviting I bypassed it completely. The […] surrounding area of downtown Miami seems to shut down around 5:30 PM. Except for a couple of bright spots (El Cartel columbian restaurant and cvi.che Peruvian restaurant, about 5 minutes walk away) there's nothing to recommend the location once your work is done. If I had to be back in downtown Miami again for work, I'd look elsewhere. Read more
"So nice for its price!!"
I would definitely recommend this hotel and it's exquisiteness!!
Unfortunately, my roommate's sister was ill and in the hospital. we found it necessary to cancel our reservations and go back to Atlanta immediately. I cancelled the room for that night but I am still waiting for the credit to applied. Otherwise, our stay on the Sunday prior was a great experience and we loved the hotel..especially the color used in […] the rooms. Read more
This hotel was very convenient for those going on a cruise..I wud recommend it highly. The rooms were very clean and staff most accomodating. My only suggestion...don't use mapquest for directions.
"Nice and clean"
Nice room size, not too small and clean. Hotel has a cafeteria with Starbucks coffee and other things. No buffet but the options for breakfast were good and tasteful It was close to out destination, it had it's own Parkin g which was very convenient $15 for 24hrs
"Neighborhood"
The hotel met all of our expectations, however the downtown area is not very nice.

"Right by Cruise Terminal"
The hotel is very nice and located in a desirable location for those who may be on business or would be traveling with one of the cruise lines. However, it was very disapointing that there was not a continental breakfast available. That would have to really be my only complaint for our stay at the Marriott downtown Miami.

"Marriott Courtyard Downtown Miami"
The hotel halls and rooms smell like mold. I lived in Florida 12 years and I am used to the humidity but this was unbearable. I woke up with a headache and stuffed sinuses. Sheets were thin. Hairs in the bathroom. I am a frequent Marriott customer. This hotel is not on par with Marriott's other properties. The lobby is is new and chic which fools you […] into thinking the rest of the hotel is the same. I was there only one night and suffered through it. I would never haved stayed longer and won't stay again. The location is right in downtown Miami which seems great but the problem is there really is nothing in downtown Miami. You are paying $15 for parking to be in the city, but you are better off going somewhere else with free parking or in Miami Beach where you pay for parking but then you can walk to everything. "Just what I expected"
This hotel was located a block from my meeting. The hotel was nice and there were no issues. The only thing that changed since the last time I stayed there is that they no longer have a restaurant downstairs.

"Hotel Staff needs improvement"
The Hotel staff did not greet us they talked rude and had horrible attitudes.
"Not so good of a location"
Felt like everything was closed down at 6pm, did not feel safe to even walk a block from the hotel. Parking for $15, I know its the trend now but when you pay top dollar for a hotel its an insult to tack on parking, especially when its not even valet.
"staff"
I felt that the front desk staff left alot to be desired. I was not told how to get my luggage to my room. I was told were to park, but they failed to mention that I was supposed to bring my lugage in the front, had to figure out how to get into the building by trying every door until I found one not marked but that my room key would fit. Then I asked […] the direction to the warf wich I was told I could reach by walking, again I was given the wrong direction. Hotel was otherwise worth the price. Read more
"Service needs improvement"
Reception desk needs to hire more ppl. There was only one guy working behind the reception desk. When I called the desk, I was put on hold forever so I ended up going downstairs. The guy can work on his customer service as well.

"Great room for the money"
Our only gripe would be that the breakfast was a bit overpriced. I read that in someone's review when I was booking the room, but chose to eat there anyway because of convenience and I thought that someone else might have a different idea of what was overpriced. We got the bill and it was over $30 for the 2 of us! The hotel was nice and clean and a […] great value. We would stay again if we had another event in the downtown area. Read more

"Great price"
Great hotel for a quick weekend getaway. Everything was beautiful and clean. Inside pool and a fitness room... too bad i could not use it. I was pretty much in love with the hotel. The only problem i had was getting into the hotel. And the surround area was not that great looking.

"We loved it..."
Breakfast is over priced and not that great but other than that the staff was very friendly and helpful. It was only $10 from hotel to cruise terminal. Our view was a construction site, although we didnt hear much noise.

"Very Nice Hotel Near Miami Cruise Port"
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel was in walking distance to the Bayside shopping district and very close to the Miami crusie port. The hotel was clean and our room was very spacious. The beds were very comfortable which was an added bonus. We did feel that the breakfast buffet served in the hotel resturant was very over priced for what you […] received but overall our stay was very enjoyable. Read more
"Pay for Parking"
Overall the stay was nice, but the money you pay for parking actually raises the price and they advertised that they provide transportation to events which is not exactly true.
"air conditioning unit in room was too load"
Nice hotel but air conditioning unit in room was too load
"good hotel"
for the money me and my husband paid, the hotel was good. It was in a good location and close to Bayside, South Beach, and other miami attractions. over all i would recomend this hotel. the people at the front desk were very kind and quick. we had no problems during our stay.

"Needs improvement"
The hotel room was fine, they serve Starbucks coffee complimentary. Our bathtub water didn't flow down and the toilet dripped, not bad however. We did call and they never came to fix it. Otherwise the room was fine
"Cruise perfect location"
Walking distance to rental car stores (incl Hertz, which provided shuttle service to the port), bayside marketplace (overpriced everything), bricken village, convenience stores, and Macy's. A short 10min drive to Crandon beach, seaquarium, South Beach, or Lincoln road. Great for staying a night or two before or after a cruise. Great in and out parking […] privileges and layout to access hotel floor from garage. Read more
"You get whay you pay for"
The hotel is not bad. Downtown Miami is generally a boring area but since my stay was work-related the location was more than convenient. The staff are friendly, the restaurant (I only had breakfasts there) was good enough. The hotel is old in general but well maintained. There was only one occasion my room did not get cleaned up (for some reason!?!?). […] The air-conditioning system is very old (manual control and very noisy) so I was lucky I did not need it THAT much. It is not a quiet area either - a lot of traffic around, parking lots with screaming cars at night. If you plan a vacation with kids - I would not recommend this hotel. If it is a short business trip in Downtown Miami - it is a good choice - you get what you pay for. Read more
