We had a good experience. The room was very nice, the hotel was clean and a good location if you want to be in town. But I was disappointed that they wanted to charge for parking. There is street parking available, but if they are offering parking it should not be at an additional charge. Otherwise our stay was very nice.

Lovely large room... with a view of the courtyard/service area, oh well, nice enough :) kind of a weird design, on the main floor, but we had to walk up to the second floor, along to the other side of the building, then down to the main floor again. We stayed 3 nights in the Brewster Mountain Lodge which is in the heart of Banff. It was very convenient to shopping, bars and restaurants. Our room was basic but a good size and very clean. The hotel was overall well maintained. Parking is five dollars extra per night for heated underground parking. Note that outside parking in Banff is free so just […] need to consider if the comfort and convenience is worth the extra five dollars. The only minor issue we had with the room was that smelt bit stuffy at first but was fine after giving it a bit of airing. There was free continental breakfast from 06:30 which was all we needed before heading out for a day of skiing. We never did get around to using the hot tub or sauna which all looked clean and well maintained. Everything was fine; pretty standard hotel and good service, which is really all one needs for downtown Banff. The best thing about it is it's right smack in the middle of EVERYTHING. The only complaint is that the free breakfast is a little lame. But then... it's free, isn't it?

We last stayed here about 10 years ago and had a great stay, and the experience was repeated this time. The staff are friendly, the included breakfast is pretty good (cereals, fruit, yogurt, bagels, toast, juice, coffee, tea, etc.). Underground heated parking for $5/day was worth it to us. Banff Ave. with its shops and restaurants is easy walking distance. […] We'll stay here again. This was a very convenient location. We thought the decor was fun. Good stay for the cost. Cookies in the lobby immediately enamored my husband. Would certainly stay there again. The location, price, staff quality, condition, ... all of those were fine, but the routine Expedia questions didn't allow me to address one matter---Four fire alarms that tossed my wife and me out onto frigid, dark streets at random intervals while the hotel was trying to figure out what was setting them off and how to fix them. Our biggest complaint would be the noise from the drunk people leaving the bar across the alley and the thumping noise from the music in the HooDoo night club across the street. Staff was excellent and listened to our issues. Don't hesitate to let the front desk know that there is too much noise and they will tell the people to leave the alley or close […] the front door of the night club. Overall a great experience for the price. One suggestion I would make is that if you are a "light" sleeper, ask for a room on the Bear Street side of the hotel. There is a night club on the Caribou Street side of the hotel that can be noisy late at night, loud music and pepole outside smoking and conversing loudly.

They gave us a basement room with a view of the parking garage and it was very noisy as the entrance and exit to the parking garage was next to our room. The locatioin of this hotel is great in that it is in the middle of Banff close to everthing however that is also its problem. It is across a narrow street from a restraunt and bar that stays open untill 2 AM with live music and an outside patio. Very satisfied with the hotel's services. Breakfast is fresh and hot with daily fresh cut fruits and soft bread. Very clean environment. Helpful and friendly staff throughout the hotel. Even opened the laundry room for my convenience beyond the stipulated operating hours. I stayed at Brewster's the second weekend in December. Check-in was quick and efficient. Free wi-fi was convenient. The underground parking was also convenient when it was not full. Friday afternoon there were available spots, but none available Saturday evening. I ended up not having to pay the daily parking fee so it wasn't a big deal, but it's something […] to consider if you're bringing a car. Location was great--very close to bars, shops, restaurants, but not directly on the main street. I was pleased with the room itself, which was clean, spacious, and comfortable. My only complaint about the room is you can hear everything that is happening in the hallway. There was a large crack (4 cm) under the door, and my room was directly across from the ice machine, so I ended up stuffing pillows under the door to help with the noise, but it didn't really help. If you go to bed early or if you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs or your iPod to drown out the hallway noise! Breakfast was lackluster. There was an assortment of bread and cereal, not much else. It was a bit of a maze to get to the breakfast room, but there were signs that clearly marked the way. The difficulty was getting back to my room! If you're looking for a hot breakfast, this is not the place to find it. Overall, I was happy with this hotel. Good value and excellent location--convenient to ski rentals, shopping, and dining. I'm not sure the convenient location makes up for noise from the 3 pubs in the immediate area (with live music on weekends) . There is music late into the night, partiers outside of your window and then garbage trucks early in the morning. I would not stay here again.

Brewster's Mountain Lodge is conveniently located in the center of Banff. You can walk to many of the shops and restaurants in the area. The staff is friendly and helpful. It was handy having a complimentary breakfast in the hotel each morning so we could eat and get on our way. The underground parking will challenge your driving and parking as you […] maneuver into the tight parking spaces. On the positive side it was very affordable and insured your car was safe overnight.
