"Jackson & Waszkiewicz Family"
We stayed here due to it was close to the port in NYC and shopping. It was only a few blockes down from shopping. Don't expect anything fancy when you enter the room. It is what it is, a room with a bed a bathroom, and a TV. The area was off a side street and parking was up 1 street for $30 for a 25 hr period. The comp brkfast was nothing fancy and […] was so crowded. That needed a little work. Overall was a nice place to stay if your in and out of NYC. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I select this hotel by the distance to the Javits Convention Center - less than a minute to get there! I read about the noisy location, it has an auto repair at the front that works 24 hours a day and I looked by my window to see if they were working because there was not noise. The staff was very nice and pleased to help guests. It is not so close to […] the Times square & Broadway attractions but I felt secure walking by until 9 pm. I was surprised with the continental breakfast, with scrambled eggs and many thinks to choose that you don't need to walk away to spend money to be satisfied. Definitely, I recommend it. "Great hotel in NYC"
very helpful staff, clean, close to times square. The auto body shop across the street looked a little sketch thoGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great room and price, questionable neighborhood"
The hotel lobby was a bit drab but the rooms were clean and for the price it was well worth the stay. There was parking right next door as well which was a plus. There is a lot of traffic in the neighborhood since the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel is almost next door to the hotel so it was a bit loud but not any more than most places in Midtown. You […] have to walk down some vacant streets to get there so I took cabs late at night but all in all I'd stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best Western NYC-comfortable room, helpful staff,"
Room was clean with comfortable bed. Had a desk to work at with free internet access. Hearty free breakfast. Staff was helpful and even warmed my take out Chinese food for me for dinner. I will stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Rooms are clean and, although small, very comfortable. Location is in Hells Kitchen and only a $10.00 (with tip) taxi ride for 4 people to Broadway and Times Square.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bring Ear Plugs"
Taxi Repair shop directly across the street; cabbies were shouting and chatting outside the hotel as late as 4AM. If you can sleep through that noise, this is a great place.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel Stay for the NYC Gift Show"
This was not the worst hotel stay I have had, but it was definately not the best. The employees at the Best Western were not very friendly and when asked a question were not very helpful. I was staying at this hotel as a vendor for the NYC Gift Show, so I stayed in NYC for about a week. In that time I grew very tired of the same continental breakfast […] every day without mainy choices and a very uncomfortable memory foam mattress. Also, it was not very relaxing to hear vacuums every single day of my stay at 5 minutes past 9:00 AM. It was driving me nuts that the housekeeping staff would start so early and constantly knock on my door to see if they come in. The housekeepers do a great job, but they should start at 10:00 AM with their duties and not be so annoying. Other than that my stay was fine. So if you want the same monotonous breakfast every morning, mediocre customer service, and an annoying housekeeping staff...stay at this Best Western by the Javits Center. Rooms are small but very clean, considering the rates in NYC this is worth the stay. It is within walking distance of times square and close to bus lineGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Value for price"
The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is every day the same and not really good. The nearest underground station is quite far away, but in good weather it is not a big deal. (We had a terrible weather in December). The room is small, but the hotel is one of the cheapest ones in Manhattan. The neighborhood was not bad.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Best Western Convention Center"
Was walking distance to Times Square and Central Park and theater district. Street that it was on seemed a bit seedy. But It was OK. The hotel is old but was very clean and I liked my room. Felt it was quiet and secluded.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Was a good choice for location and easy to get around H's Kitchen. Mattress needed replacing though as there were big ruts in it and there was little hot water one morning, so it definitely could have been better for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Shop until we dropped holiday magic in New York"
As they say "don't judge a book by it's cover" this goes for this hotel as our first thoughts on this hotel standing outside with the upper part of the street full of black and white sacks full of rubbish "we have made a mistake with this one" BUT when we got in the hotel, it was clean and tidy, all of the staff were polite and couldn't be more helpful. […] There was a full breakfast and lots of it, even if the waffle maker did keep getting "stuck". Our room was kept very clean and tidy, considering that there were 2 ladies shopping until they dropped in New York and just coming back exhausted to the comfort of their room and dropping everything, having a warm bath (not first night, but told manager in the morning and after that lovely hot baths) and getting into our very comfortable large bed. It was just a slow 15 minute walk from the hotel into Times Square and overall I would say that this hotel had enhanced our stay in New York. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location for NYC"
Great hotel, friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast is filling and plentiful - good coffee. Rooms typical city centre style, clean and comfortable. Planning to stay again next year.Genuine Expedia guest review
Room was incredibly small. Maybe 8x10 plus bathroom. It was fine to sleep there but nothing else. The whole room also smelled like BO every day. The woman on front desk didn't care about us at all. We tried to print out some tickets at the sole guest computer and the printer wasn't working. I asked the woman if she could help us and she said "it's fine. […] Keep trying". Turns out it had no paper loaded. Rather than mess around with a printer I wasn't familiar with it would have been nice if she had gotten out from behind her solitaire game. The night staff were much more helpful. I took the stairs up and down from my room every day to get ice at the sole ice machine in the lobby and there was a big dead roach at the bottom of the stairs every day from Tuesday to Saturday. Breakfast was fine. Standard continental selection but only served from 7-10. My biggest regret, and not really the hotel's fault, is that it's a good 10 min walk to the nearest subway station. If we come back to NY I'll pay the extra money to stay closer to 7th and 8th ave. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Clean Hotel. Friendly Staff."
It was a clean Hotel with very helpful staff. It is the perfect spot for a weeks stay in Manhatten. The rooms were rather small but we still managed with 4 persons in one room (since we only really were in the room to sleep). The neighbourhood is quite ok even so it looks a little dirty we never once had problems or felt in anyway uncomfortable even […] at night. All in all a good hotel for a short business trip or a weeks or so visit to the Big Apple. The Best Western Convention Center in Manhatten is perfectly located for people who want to explore Manhatten and do not want to spend a lot of Money doing so. It is only a 15min stroll away from Time Square from where you will find most of the sights within another 15 min walking radius. If you do not like to walk i would strongly suggest the weekly pass for the subway. The next subway station is the Penn Station which is conveniently located on 42nd St one of the main streets of Manhatten. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Last resort for a hotel."
I found this hotel to be hidden for location in a street that was dark & on it's own. A bit scary at night. The rooms were small & cramped in even though l was only to sleep some room to move would of been nice. Not at all like the photo. A huge disappointment was the complimentary breakfast, the scrambled eggs were powdered and filled in the warmer […] from a plastic bag, the variety of food was poor. Some decent cutlery & plates would of been nice instead of plastic, I was't at a kids party. I was there over Christmas and no attention was given to this besides the tree in the way of festive food etc. The hotel staff were bland and boring. I would not stay or recommend this hotel to anyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great service, great location, food buffet was really good. We weren't expecting anything too great for the cheap price we paid, but it was way above expectations. Our only criticism of the hotel was that they washed our towels when we didn't want. But that's hardly a bad thing!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"NY at Christmas"
Reasonably priced hotel in mid town Manhattan, convenient for subway/connections to airport and train station, and sights/amenities. Room smallish, but OK, with maid service every day. Breakfast no more than what might be expected at a budget hotel. Comparable to Travelodge in UK.Genuine Expedia guest review
"great apart from the free wifi"
No major problems with the hotel, room was a bit small but the comfort of the bed made up for it, There was a very noisy train that came by every morning about 7am. This is an excellent value for money hotel and the staff were friendly and helpful-.the area was garages, fire station etc -a working area but it did not feel unsafe (we were 2 females)and infact we enjoyed seeing the fire station and the central park horses being brushed, fed and watered. The subway is an easy walk as was Times Square etc.We were on […] the 3rd floor and although we heard the train it did not cause us a problem-the beds were comfortable and clean and the complimentary breakfast most welcome-and unusual as normally we have had to go out for breakfast in the States-of course it isn't "full English" but we were in NewYork not London !! Great stay and terrific value for money. Very helpful and friendly staff, very clean and easily 3-4 star quality for 2 star price. Simple 10-12 mins walk to Times Square and Port Authority for access to buses, subway, etc. Also less than 10 mins walk to pier for Circle Line, Water Taxi & Sea Air Space Museum. Room was small and had no fridge, but ice was available from machine in lobby. Room was clean and the bed were very comfortable, think the mattresses where memory foam! Air con was very effective and not too niosy. We had breakfast included which saved us money. Breakfast was buffet style: Fruit, yogurt, muffins, mini donuts, toast, bagels, juice and […] tea/coffee. The street the hotel is located was a bit run down at first view but in the end we were glad there was little traffic noise etc. Is about a 10 min walk from port authority bus terminal (nearest subway station) or Penn station. "Hotel Best Western Convention Centre NY"
Just came back from a 3 day stay at the hotel. Can’t not complain really at all for the price we paid for the room. Pros Staff were great, could not do enough for us. Mike the day porter is really nice and friendly guy, gave us great advise where to shop and where to avoid. Staff arranged a stretched Limo for 8 of us to take us back to Newark airport; […] Limo was a nice treat as it worked out the same price as taking a private mini buss. Breakfast was a surprise, Scrambled eggs, hot scones, three types of serials, toast, bagels, fruit, tea, coffee, juice; this was more than I was expecting from a free breakfast. Location is not bad either, area does not look great but we had no issues at all, we were walking back at 10-11PM and felt quite safe. Walk to Times Square was 15 min max; Empire State building only 20 mins. Local shops only 2 min walk, you can buy your water, beers, snacks and avoid paying the tourist (Time Square) prices. If your vegetarian likeI me; highly recommend ‘Chipotle’ (Mexican fast food), lots of them all over and Maoz Vegetarian (best falafel I had),( 200 West 40th St NY 10018) Cons Rooms are quite small, the ones nearer the lifts are bigger than the one further away so if there are more than two of you in a room; confirm/ask to be put in one of the bigger rooms. Train track right behind the hotel, though had no issues overnight at all with noise, only approx 7AM each morning a training would go past hooting it horn. We were up early anyway ready for sightseeing so it was not an issue for us at all. Carpets could do with deep clean (not sticky just look a bit old). Would I stay again and recommend to others, Definite Yes. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Best Western Convention Hotel New York"
Hotel was basic, but all facilities were clean. Rooms were of average size but all equipment and bed were comfortable, shower etc. Breakfast was basic continental, not much variety and the room area was small due to number of guests eating at same time , lack of tables. Took actual cost of hotel into consideration when booking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"cheap, cheerful, did the job"
This hotel is basic, rooms are ample for the time you spend in them, daily maid service, front desk was helpful. Free breakfast was fine, variety of pastries, cereals tea, coffee etc. A 10 min walk to times square, once you get used to the layout of the streets you can cut through easily, it is on a quieter street, but we felt safe even at 1.30am. Taxi's […] are everywhere, costs vary, but it we never paid more than $10 from uptown to downtown, subways are also easy to work out, save your legs. We tried to do as much as we could, top of the rock, grand central, statue of liberty etc., we also got tickets for woodbury common from expedia, well worth it spent a fortune, but also saved a fortune, all the best stores at discount prices, about an hour from manhattan. Eating out was again great, lots of choice, but check menus, because some places are expensive, depending on exchange rate when you go. We went to see Catch me if you can on broadway, brill, bought tickets from the box office, we paid $62 each, there are so many to choose from, you can buy on the day. We also watched a comedy show , we bought tickets from a street seller, but after getting him down to $10 each, from $15 each we discovered it was $10 on the door!!!!, so beware, apart from that the show was very funny, 6 comics with varied material, 2 drink minimum off set menu, drinks were $11 or $10 each. Overall NY is a great city to visit, wear comfy shoes, budget your money, and take your credit card just incase!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
1 challenge. I had been told that there would be internet access in the room. It was not strong enough to make a connection. 10 floors down -0 if i sat in the lobby - it worked.
