A first class hotel, with exceptional attention to detail, excellent food and very comfortable rooms. The hotel staff were all very friendly and very helpful. The rooms were decorated to a high standard and very comfortable. Beautiful gardens.

We attended a wedding reception at this hotel and stayed overnight. We enjoyed a very comfortable night and an excellent breakfast the following morning. It is a lovely traditional hotel with pleasant, helpful staff. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Very good hotel and reasonably price. Maybe the only qualm would be the single room i had was slightly small and the tv was a little bit pokey. However the food was very good and the lounge with a fire and comfy chairs was great. Free internet (not too quick) and the cooked breakfast would make me stay again-recommended.

Hotel was very busy as there were 2 weddings so the breakfast was extremely noisy but the staff were quick and efficient. I paid for the 2 rooms in advance and thought I had booked a double room with 2 Queen beds and a twin, there was only one queen bed but it was too difficult to change as the hotel was so busy. Staff were fantastic and v helpful especially at 12 30 when no one could get the key to work to open room. Very patient night porter who got tools and did the job. Hotel decor [not bedroom] i tired -looks like people have been heavily smoking. Little things like no chair to do make-up/dry hair irritating. Drawer handles broken on shabby furniture. Excellent hotel with a well presented evening meal. will definitely stay here again as it is on a par with the Best Western Premier down the road but cheaper. Only negative - desk too small to be of much business use. everything else first rate.

Sadly this beautifully refurbished hotel was let down by the apallingly poor service and negative attitude of the check out receptionist. Also room 16 has an air conditioning unit pumping very loudly outside the window which makes sleeping peacefully difficult. But as my experience proved there is no point in mentioning anything to the reception as […] they have no idea about service recovery. She was also incredibly hostile about 'internet bookings'.
