Very pleasant stay, while attending my brothers graduation. Close to SLO Beach as well as Pismo. Nice afternoon bbq by the hotel staff, close to nice restaurant's, including an adjacent nice breakfast diner. Nice winery right down the road. I would stay again for sure when in the area.

The room was clean, quiet, and had everything I needed such as an iron, blow dryer, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and ipod phone charger. There was also a pool and jacuzzi! The hotel was older but very well maintained. The staff was very friendly too. What more could you ask for?

I was surprised by how pretty this hotel is. Lots of roses in bloom, green well tended grass and a wonderful hot tub and pool area. The hot tub had waterfalls and a volcano that actaully smoked (steam from the heater) that was very enjoyable. The check-in and check-out people were polite and friendly. They also give a $5 off breakfast coupon for Margie's […] Diner right next door although I didn't have time to go there. The room was very clean and nicely furnished with a microwave and large refrigerator. The bed was super comfortable. I had a ground room floor with a sliding glass door to the grass area which was handy to bring in my luggage. The only drawback was that I could hear the security door open and close and people walking upstairs. if you are sensitive to noise you might want to stay upstairs. It got pretty quiet after 9:30pm and I had no problems sleeping. It is just off the freeway but the noise did not bother me. Very impressed with this place and the rates I got. I was a little anxious about staying here based on some of the reviews but I didn't have much choice of where to stay due to my budget. The man at the front desk was very efficient, friendly, and helpful. For the price I paid, the condition of the hotel was fair. The plumbing is loud but didn't bother me. The furniture was very worn, I wouldn't sit […] on any of it but thankfully, any improvements they have made was to the bed. It was much more comfortable than I anticipated and I was pleasantly surprised. I did wear shoes at all times, the carpet wasn't terrible but just kinda yuck. Last thing, I am a young, single woman, traveling alone. Upon arrival at my room I noticed there was a sliding glass door leading out into the parking lot. In some cases this would be a very nice feature. If you travel with a husband or wife, with a group of young people, no big deal you can step out for some fresh air or a smoke. However, being alone I was a little on edge all night about the sliding glass door and at one point even heard someone walking around out there after I was in bed. So if you are safety conscious, traveling alone, or have small children, I wouldn't tell you to avoid this hotel all together but I would recommend requesting a room on the second floor just for your own peace of mind. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, if again my budget won't allow for more comfortable accommodations. Read more

This was the best of the 4 hotels we stayed in on our road trip to San Diego from the Bay Area. We wished we'd stayed here at least another night, it was so pleasant. We didn't need the ear plugs and didn't have to ask the staff to tell our neighbors to turn down the tv like we had at a motel in San Diego. Conveniently located, although a bit tricky to actually find right off the freeway, this was a perfectly adequate hotel that satisfied what I needed. The room had an HDTV and Blue Ray player which was a nice touch. Room was clean. Building looks older, but not so bad. No elevator. I would stay again.

Placed in a so called "newly remodeled" room, that had a musty smell, leaking faucets, shower drain full of hair, and did not drain, so you were standing in a foot of water when you showered. Spoke to the management about it, but all we got was "sorry to hear about it" Me too. Like I said, never again.

Room was very small and dated, but it served the purpose of our family needing an overnight for a family wedding. The beds were small and the bottom sheet kept pulling out all night, leaving me to sleep on the folded up blanket that served as a mattress pad or the mattress it's self. I was scared to stay here after reading other reviews. Yes there was a bit of a stale smell in the hallway and in our room, I brought a bottle of febreeze and that took care of the smell, easy fix. we walked into the office to a friendly face, fruit and cofee. Around 3 pm the entire hotel smelled of delicious tri-tip, outside on the bbq they were cooking […] us our complimentary dinner.Monday-Thursday at 5 pm they serve dinner: nachos, rice, home made chili beans, steamed vegetables, salad, then the griller slabbed 3 huge slices of tri tip on my plate. Around 7:30 we got in our swim suits and enjoyed a beautiful swim in the biggest hot tub i have ever seen, beautiful water fall flowing and a really cool light show in the hot tub. we loved it. In the morning they gave us a $5 off coupon for Margies diner right next door where we enjoyed really really big plates of food. it was delicious.we will stay at rose garden inn anytime we are in the area.
