BW HOTEL DU LAVARIN - Avignon

This is a nicely maintained, friendly hotel with helpful staff and comfortable rooms. The lawn and pool were lovely, and the hotel was quiet so we got a great night's sleep. The lady who checked us in was very friendly and spoke fluent English. She gave us good, detailed driving directions to the old city of Avignon and pointers on where to park. We […] picked this hotel because of it's proximity to the train station - the station is an easy, 10 minute drive away. We were departing at 7:15 the next morning for Paris and had to return a rental car before departure. All went off without a hitch. While the location was great for that purpose, I'll also say that there isn't anything around the hotel, like shops or restaurants, or . . .anything. Unless you're willing to drive around there isn't anywhere to eat other than the hotel. The hotel food was okay, but there wasn't much variety. There's no vending or little shop so if you decide to stay here stock up first if you like a late snack. The hotel provided free bottled water for the room. One other bit of info - we found it kind of confusing finding the place for the first time. There's a big sign on the side of a building on a roundabout that almost makes it look as if that might be the hotel - it isn't. Keep driving for a minute or so in the direction of the arrow and the hotel is on the left in a lovely garden-like setting. Read more

The owner was most helpful and friendly. The pool was very pleasant to sit beside and the outdoor seating area a perfect place to have dinner. The dinner was very tasty and the server charming and attentive. Breakfast was also a treat, when I stayed it was 13 euros and there was a lot of choice. The room was big, by European standards and very clean […] and quiet. They could use some updating, but I understand that will happen next year. I would definitely stay here again. It's a short bus ride into the city, but service is frequent and the price is right. Buses do not run after 7:00 p.m. but there is a very reasonable taxi service - it just needs to be ordered ahead of time. A very happy stay. Read more

He was particularly helpful in giving us directions to the city centre and in recommending various F&B outlets. The 2nd floor room was great with access to a balcony. The hotel and staff were very nice. The location was about 2+ miles further from Avignon center than what we had read on Expedia. We had expected it to be walking distance....not a marathon hike. It screwed up our visit because it took us 45 minutes to walk to the town and we had a short visit planned. We had looked specifically for something close […] to Avignon and near Le Pont D'Avignon and Palais du Papes....this was NOT close for walking. l'etat des toilettes très très sale. Le personnel complètement à l'ouest!!!!!! Le restaurant idem ????? La fenêtre de ma chambre au rez de chaussé ne fermait pas. Des travaux dans le jardin donc les ouvrier devant ma fenêtre le matin??. Hotel très bryant et dans une zone vraiment désagréable. Très très déçue de cette hotel

Nous avons été bien accueilli,le personnel est sympathique.Le cadre et la déco nous ont plû,nous avons apprécié les produits d'hygiène dans la salle de bain,par contre nous avons été surpris par la taille de la chambre(petite) et le manque d'étanchéité'il a plu dans notre chambre et dans le couloir.

Nous n'avons pas totalement pu apprécier le silence des environs en raisons des travaux tout proches. mais la chambre est bien insonorisée.La décoration des parties communes de l’hôtel est très sympa,. IL faut espérer que celle des chambres suivra le même chemin.Personnel efficace.
