This resort was very nice and conveniently located to about anything you wished to do. From going to Jackson, Tetons, Yellowstone, hiking or just going to the top of the ski resort to view the awesome scenery.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location in the Teton Village"
Great location in the Teton Village, right at the base of the aerial tram. The near by gondolas (free > 4:30 pm) take you to "The Deck", half way up the mountain, where you can order large serving size appetizers - remember to share they are large. Live music and cool - take a jacket. We really enjoyed this. The hotel staff was very nice and accommodating, […] free breakfast buffet was really good - especially the Swedish pancakes. Our room was clean and roomy, hot tub was a plus, overall this was a very nice place to stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Quaint accomodations with friendly staff."
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Alpenhof. Staff were helpful and friendly. On site Swiss restaurant was great place for dinner and their included hot breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
very expensive! Had to climb stairs to get to elevator. Room was nice but definitely not what I would expect for the price. I've had much nicer rooms for a cheaper price. The breakfast was the best thing about our stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't expect much service."
My family and I arrived in Jackson WY a bit earlier than planned, so we went to the Alpenhof about Noon and asked if we could possibly check-in early. The timid desk clerk hesitatingly phoned housekeeping. We overheard an angry housekeeper yell at the desk clerk, "I'm not guaranteeing anything till 3 o'clock!" The timid clerk hung-up her phone, looked […] at us and said, "No, you will have to wait till 3 o'clock, I'm sorry." There was absolutely no effort put forth to accomodate us. Hotel was a nice place to stay - super close to all the Teton Village hot spots. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was so good!! "Rooms only accommodate four/too many extra charges"
We reserved our room disclosing our family of five included three children ages 10,14, 16 and were given a room that was supposed to accommodate us. When we arrived at the hotel we were told our extra guest would cost an additional $60, but would not have a bed to sleep in unless we paid an additional $10 for a rollaway bed. When we asked what the $60 […] extra guest fee covered we were told it would cover the free breakfast. The front desk clerk was not very helpful. When we arrived at our room a nice man was putting up a rollaway bed that fit in the room after furniture was moved. Although I just noticed rollaway beds are an extra charge on their website, we were not told this when he was setting up the bed. We discovered the charge when we were checking out. Seriously! Overall the hotel was charming and in a good location. Just a bit tight of a squeeze for an extra tall family of five. The $60 breakfast was also very nice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A Bavarian experience inside the states!"
The Alpenhof exceeded our expectations, being clean, comfortable, & accommodating to our 2 labradors. Very friendly staff that even let one of the pups play in the water hose. The hotel's decor had much character as well as an old-fashioned Bavarian feel. Definitely a cozy, homey, and comfortable stay!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel, wonderful food, but no Fox News!"
This is a very nice hotel in a wonderful ski village. The hotel restaurant had a gourmet menu-had the best fillet of my long life! "Taste of Bavaria"
Great breakfast buffet with fresh fruit, crepes, made-to-order waffles, pancakes or omelets. Like all of the places in Jackson Hole area, they have a hard time with staffing so sometimes service is uneven when new employees start. Great hotel in classic Alp-style layout. Beautiful area and close to mountain obviously. Staff very friendly, rooms nice and big, very low key, but in a stylish way.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Old Hotel in Jackson Hole"
The electric outlets in our room did not work. The wireless internet connection was sketchy. Most times did not work. Elevator does not go to 1st floor, you have to walk up 5 steps for the elevator. Staff expects tips for things not usually tipped for in other hotels. It is a good location but so are the other hotels around it. The breakfast was very […] good, highlight of the stay. Room was overall disappointing and I would not go back. This was NOT a 4.5 star out of 5 star hotel as represented by Expedia.com. "Perfect for Teton and Yellowstone vacation"
Great location and wonderful village atmosphere. We were nestled at the foot hills of the Tetons, which made our first day perfect for seeing this National Park. "Run down hotel cutting corners wherever possible"
This hotel was probably nice at one time, but not any more. Bent key that barely opened the door. Old tissue box that had been reloaded - there was a used tissue at the bottom of the box when it ran out. Soap not replenished for the second day of our stay, we had to go request it. "A friendly hotel, in the heart of Teton Village."
We were welcomed at the hotel by a very friendly receptionist. Our room was a decent size, with a balcony over looking Teton Village. We were given a voucher for 20 percent saving at the hotel restaurant, which, of course we used. What a mistake! We waited an hour for our meal, with no rolls/bread on the table, and when we queried the long wait, the […] waiter was surly, and we were told that there was only or cook on duty! Other people waited as long as us, and one couple complained both about the wait and the food, and left, paying only for their drinks. When our food arrived, it was very good. We were very wary of going in for breakfast the next morning, but the staff were very pleasant, and the food excellent. We would stay at this hotel again, but NOT have an evening meal in the restaurant! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Cozy hotel in Teton Village, WY"
We loved the very comfortable and cozy beds! And the breakfast was delicious--made-on-request pancakes and waffles, served on linens and china, made it way more than your average continental breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great value and location for Jackson and Tetons"
The hotel provided a unique experience with a Swiss feel that added to the enjoyment of a trip to Jackson beyond what could be found at a typical American chain hotel. If you enjoy something different, then this is well worth a trip. Unfortunately, the amenities of the hotel also match the quirkiness of a unique non-chain hotel. There were several little […] things with electric outlets and shower that were inconvenient, but can add to the ambiance. The location was terrific with a short drive to either Jackson or the Tetons. However, it is not right in the action of either. I would certainly recommend this hotel. Also, the breakfast was terrific. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Loved the Alpenhof!"
We just returned home from an incredible vacation in the Tetons! The Alpenhof and Teton Village were an ideal location for visiting the park. Every day, my ten year old son said,"Next time we come here, we have to stay at the Alpenhof again! Though it is an older hotel, it is very clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely nice and we felt right […] at home. Each morning before we started hiking, biking, and exploring the park, we were provided with a complimentary full breakfast buffet. I saw in a review before our vacation where someone complained that the buffet had the same food each day. Well, it pretty much did, but every day there were scrambled eggs (other eggs could be made to order), hash browns or home fries, the best bacon we ever ate, sausage links, fresh fruit, cereal, assorted pastries, bagels, cinnamon rolls, toast, French baquettes, cheese, sliced tomatoes, yogurt, assorted juices, coffee, tea. And we were also offered a choice of pancakes or waffles which were freshly made to order. So there were plenty of choices and we looked forward to our hearty Alpenhof breakfast to start the day. It was also a great place to "come home to" for rest and relaxation after our busy days. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
While the Alpenhof is a bit dates with its decorations, we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay, additionally aided by the Teton experience! The bed was absolutely perfect... So comfortable! We stayed in May, during the off season, so the hotel was quiet and well kept. Everyone was super friendly and the bed was very very comfortable. It's in the center of Teton Village so everything is walkable which is very convenient. They even upgraded us to a nicer room with a balcony. We loved our stay there and would definitely stay again!Genuine Expedia guest review

We were disappointed upon entering the room initially, as it was so small. The furnishings are very dated, although the bed was comfortable. "Great hotel, would stay here again!"
The Alpenhof is a wonderful hotel. It's cozy, Bavarian interior is warm and welcoming. The location is prime--about a 2 minute walk to the tram and base, 3-4 min walk to neighboring eateries (Nick Wilson's & The Mangy Moose-yum!)The concierge, Peter, is kind, friendly, and helpful. Our room was upgraded from a single queen to double queen w/ balcony! […] Definitely a pleasant surprise. You won't find a mini fridge or microwave inside the room, because here it's about simplicity! If you're there during the winter and have leftovers I'm sure they'd keep just fine outside on the balcony! The front desk brought us a water boiler for tea and the occasional package of instant noodles. There is a delicious breakfast buffet every morning--eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, cereal, oatmeal, toast, cold meats, cheese, fruit, and yogurt. There are also made-to-order waffles, pancakes, and french toast! The Alpenhof Bistro has a great lunch menu as well. Try the knackwurst and sauerkraut, as well as, the schnitzel sandwich. After a day of snowboarding/skiing you can grab a complimentary cookie in the lobby! Soft, gooey chocolate chip and oatmeal apricot. Strong wifi connection in the room. Chose to leave laptop at home and my phone did just fine. Apres-ski dip in the hot tub and pool, must do! You might also encounter in the lobby their resident golden retrievers. Sweet, mellow dogs who like to roll over for a belly rub! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Yes, the hotel is dated. However, it is clean and cheerful. Service was good, and food was fine. I had no issues. In a retro sort of way, it was just right for a ski vacation, but then, I am an old fashioned sort of guy. Location is the big deal. Perfectly convenient. "A Jackson Hole Treasure"
The location of the Alpenhof can't be beat. Near the tram and yards away from Bridger gondola and base lifts. It’s intimate and old-school, a refreshing change from a corporate hotel experience. A Jackson friend put it best: "The Alpenhof is a Jackson Hole treasure." Free ski storage, boot dryers, a lively apres ski crowd, and warm chocolate chip cookies […] and cocoa at 3:00 each day, are big bonuses on a ski trip. The very friendly staff made me feel at home as soon as I walked in the door. My room was comfortable with lots storage for the extra clothing and equipment one brings to ski. The room had a desk and chair, built-in upholstered bench under a window, nightstand, side chair, dresser, and flat-panel TV. Free WiFi is everywhere, and a computer and printer in the lobby are available for guests. A baseboard heating system controlled by a wall thermostat, meant the room was wonderfully silent. The bed was very comfortable, with pillows of different densities. The switch on the desk lamp was faulty, and would not stay on, and the room could have benefitted from more lighting in general. The bathroom, though small, had been renovated recently, and was stocked with plenty of towels. A timed heating element in the bathroom ceiling wasn't working very well. As other reviewers have mentioned, the complimentary breakfast buffet is great. If you're looking for a small, unique hotel with a friendly staff and awesome location at the JH Ski Resort, the Alpenhof is the place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Friendly welcoming staff"
I was in Jackson Hole by myself (prior to a work related stay in the town of Jackson) to do some snowboarding. The person who I checked in with (I think her name was Tessa) was very friendly and helpful. Also, when I had dinner at the Alpenhof Bistro that night, the wait staff (Justin and Kelly) were kind enough to chat with me while I sat at the bar […] (it was pretty dead in the village due to it still being the off season). Justin also brought me a mini version of the chocolate fondue (which was delicious). My room was very cozy and the bed was extremely comfortable. Overall, I had very pleasant stay. :) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good and ....not so much"
This motel is showing it's age. Maintenance could definitely be better. We did battle with the puffy pillows both nights. The breakfast with decent and the staff there was great. We were going to eat at the restaurant for dinner but were told by several guests that the service was terrible. They were disgusted. I wouldn't stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
