"Dangerous feeling hotel"
This hotel is the worst that I have ever stayed at. The hotel itself is uncomfortable, the rooms are small, stuffy, humid and have absolutely no airflow. There is hotel staff present only during the day. At night there is no doorman or reception. If your room key became deactivated when you went out to dinner you would be stranded outside of your room […] with no one outside your room. There is absolutely no security door so any random person off the street could have entered the hotel in the middle of the night. The breakfast was disgusting. All of the bread products were burned, the fruit was rotten, dairy products were not refrigerated. Do not stay here. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect Florence location"
The location of Roomate Isabella was perfect for our visit to Florence. A 10 minute walk to the train station and other Florence sites were easily accessible within a 5-15 minute walk. The staff at the hotel was very courteous and able to answer any questions we had about the hotel or the area. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated - the only […] two things we would mention were the shower head placement made showering very difficult and the wi-fi worked around the hotel, although it was often sporatic. Great hotel in an awesome neighborhood. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. "Visit to Florence"
This is an excellent hotel within walking distance to the train station and local sites. It served an excellent breakfast that was included in the hotel price. The hotel has just been remodeled (Feb 2013) and they were still completing the painting as we arrived. The elevator for the hotel was broken but was repaired the day we left. The hotel is on […] the third floor of the building so be prepared to climb some steps,The only downfall of the room was the street noise late at night (2 to 4 am ) which made it difficult to sleep. Francesca at reception was very helpful throughout our stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We have stayed here twice during the off season. Both times were excellent. The only small down side was having to take bags up and down stairs. Not a big deal. Probably best hotel we stayed during two week tour. We would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Highlight of my trip"
This hotel was one of the best values I've ever experienced in my years of traveling. The staff was friendly and helpful and the quality and comfort of the room and hotel was outstanding. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel which is on one of Florence's most fashionable streets to anyone. Easy access to the most interesting parts of town as well as […] the train station, ponte vecchio and duomo. Fantastic. Staff and comfort of my room deserve a 6 rating if it was available. "Good hotel; great location"
Excellent location. Fairly maintanied. Uncomfortable showers. Excellent staff. Rather poor selection of food for breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is very well located, the staff is kind but that's it. Overall conditions of the room were terrible, the hotel looks old and used. Dirty walls, stained furniture and a bed so hard that felt like sleeping on the floor. All this in what they called a "superior" room. My wifes parents got the standard room and they had absolutely the same problems […] in a much smaller room. The breakfast was ok with a good variety of food, but there was only one waitress and it was not enough keep up with all the guests. Since the first day we arrived there was a juice jar leaking from the cap and spilling all over the floor everytime someone used and during the four days of our stay nobody fixed it. A four stars hotel could not overlook such "details". I left the hotel frustrated and disappointed, I felt like I could have had better for the same price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely hotel, in the center of everything"
We loved staying here. I would caution people with real difficulty with stairs, though there is a nice elevator starting on the second floor. Otherwise, perfect!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Boutique Hotel"
PROS: Centrally located. Continental breakfast (very simple and fresh). Free Wi-Fi. Courteous and helpful front desk. In the middle of high end shopping (Gucci, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, etc) CONS: Bathtub/shower only has a half wall made of glass. AC turned off (but I think that is standard in Italy in the Fall). I was fine with it, but if you are elderly […] or have problems climbing stairs, you should know that there is a short flight of stairs you MUST climb to even get to the elevator. There is a porter on call to help you with your luggage. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great location in Florence"
Our stay in Florence was very enjoyable. Early November weather was sunny and crisp and it was a perfect time for avoiding summer crowds. The hotel staff was pleasant and helpful and we did not mind the stairs from the street to the reception desk.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Albergotto is very well located with a very helpful and attentive staff. We were upgraded to a larger room than we had booked and for were surprised how large it was compared to most European hotels. The Hotel is well located, walking distance to the train station and most of major museums and sights in Florence, in fact, except for a day we went […] to Sienna we never had to use any other mode of transportation but our feet. "A nice small place to stay"
We had a fantastic corner room with french doors that opened. While clean and roomy, the bed was a bit hard and the bedspread and curtains are dated. The breakfast was wonderful (especially the pot of hot chocolate). The staff were friendly. The location is great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A very convenient location"
This is an elegant old hotel very conveniently located for a first visit to Florence. It is a ten minute walk from the train station although I would suggest you preview the walk from street level online as the roads are very confusing. You have to climb stairs up one story to access the elevator so it is not an option for mobility impaired visitors. […] The porter is able to get your bags into a dumb waiter from street level so at least you don't have to schlep them up that first story. A fuse blew the second time we entered the room and stuck the card key in to turn on the lights. The porter came and reset it and we just pulled the plug on one of the lights to avoid that happening again. The bed/bathroom/room was very clean, no sign of bedbugs and nice crisp linens. There was a small fridge stocked with drinks, a coffee/tea maker with cups and teabags and the usual toiletry amenities. The bed was firm. Every morning from 7:30 AM, a very nice breakfast was served on the lobby level including cereals, yogurt, fruit, sausage, eggs, breads, rolls, pastries and sometimes really great fruit tarts with coffee, juices and milk. That same area becomes a limited selection bar the rest of the day where we enjoyed a gin and tonic before heading out to dinner one night. The two best eateries we found were just a few blocks away - Trattoria al Trebbio and Le Belle Donne. You will pass right by them on your walk from the train station if you take Via degli Avelli to the hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel in Florence"
We stayed at the Albergotto for 4 nights when we were in Florence. The hotel itself is in a great spot, although Florence is such an easy walking city, most spots would be OK. The hotel room was nice, spacious for a European hotel. Free Wifi was great, after nearly 2 weeks of paying for wifi in other parts of Italy. The staff was gracious and helpful, […] although one of their dinner recommendations was not great, their 2nd recommendation of Trebboli was just what we were looking for, off the beaten path and local. "If you enjoy avoiding chain hotels..."
The hotel is in a very central location. Less than a 10 minute walk from the central train station, 3 minute walk to the river and a 10 minute walk to the Dumoa. arrived late to Florence- staff greeted me at midnight and was so helpful with luggage and answered questions. I had an early departure the next morning and the staff was kind enough to make a full breakfast buffet an hour early- that's great service! Room was fine except a little small as are all singles in Florence. I recommend this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very centrally located. Room was clean and the shower temperature/pressure was better than other hotels in the area. We walked everywhere (including the train station after we checked out). It's in the middle of the upscale shopping district. We had a nice city view from our room. Other reviewers complained about the walk up the steps and the elevator […] stopping on the 1st floor - get over it. The porters will bring your bags up and down if you desire it. The elevator stopped for about a second (the front desk is up one level and that's how they maintain awareness of who's entering the hotel) and the inconvenience was negligible. "Exceptional Service!!! Highly Recommended"
I rarely leave comments on these websites but felt I had to for this hotel. My friend and I were attending a wedding in Florence and decided to travel within Italy and outside of Italy for the 2 weeks before the wedding and we decided to use the Albergotto as our base for our travels. We each had separate rooms and stayed 3 separate nights and it was […] the best experience I have had with a hotel in a long time. I emailed ahead of time to let them know we were staying 3 non-consecutive nights and to request if possible storage of our extra bags because we didn't want to lug around 2 weeks worth of stuff. They graciously agreed and were so fantastic with storing our bags (even after we both came back with an extra bag). Our bags were always available to us and by our last night there our bags were in our room before we even got there. All the hotel staff were excellent but it just so happened that most of our arrivals or departures occurred when Luca was on duty, he is want one expects when one thinks of a hospitality professional, courteous, friendly, and helpful. He made museum reservations for us and recommended great dinning options. I can not say enough about the service he provided during our stay at the hotel. As for the hotel the rooms were lovely, charming and very European, the baths were small very well decorated and clean. If you want a small hotel in the heart of it all with charming rooms and great service you cannot go wrong with the Albergotto hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

This hotel is within walking distance to everything, the staff was great, the breakfast had something for everyone and the room was very spacious! "Hotel Albergotto in Florence, It Great Location!"
Very nice hotel. Great location! Only negative comment was the air conditioning wasn't yet turned on....time of year(early April). It was rather warm in the room...about 26C. Just about everything regarding this hotel was great. The staff was wonderful in helping me decide on tours. They were extremely attentive to all my needs. "Business/Leasure Trip to Florence"
Staff was very helpful. Excellent location near many great restaurants and museums. Convenient to the main transportation center. Large room by European standards. Breakfast was very nice. "Albergotto in Florentine Spring"
My wife and I just spent several days in Florence, staying at the Albergotto. Took the train into town and a cab had us at the hotel in 5 minutes (if you are running on portable luggage, the walk would take you 10). The porter wrangled our bags up the stairs to the elevator (classic European elevator, size of a phone booth). Check in was effortless. […] We'd prepaid the hotel but had to pony up 20-odd euro for the city guest tax, which has to be collected in cash (same deal in Rome). Room was comfortable, a bit warm at times but opening a window for a few minutes. Nice bathroom (shower only but made up for it with very precise temperature and water pressure controls). I particularly liked the design of the bidet, which put a stream of water where one needed it, at whatever temperature one liked. Location is superb - you are on Conspicuous Consumption Central with via del Tornabuoni. The hotel itself occupies the floors above Gucci. The street houses Tiffany, Cartier, Vuitton, Armani, et al. Not that we were shopping there, but it is a very showy set of neighbors. Almost any hotel in the old city will be within a few minutes of the main sights. From Albergotto, it is two blocks to Piaaza della Signoria, two more to the Duomo or to Piazza della Republica (and thus the Uffizi). A map of Florence will tell the rest of that tale. We were delighted with everything about our stay except its brevity. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

This hotel is right in the middle of everything. Its about a 10min walk to Santa Maria Novella train station, 3min to Ponte Vecchio, 12mins to Duomo, 15 to 20min to go see statue of David, and about 10mins to the Uffizi. Its also in the heart of the fashion district in Florence. A ton of great restaurants in the neighborhood. I had a room that had 1 […] double bed, which was very spacious. The shower stall is really tiny, but I feel like that is typical in Europe. The TV is tiny, but if you don't plan on spending too much time in your hotel room it shouldn't be an issue. "Does the job, but not much different from a 3 stars"
U will have to climb a set of stars up and down to reach the hotel elevator which is annoying during check in and check out. Realized they had a bell boy after carrying my bags to the elevators. "Would stay again"
My husband & I stayed here for our honeymoon. We were on a budget but were looking for a hotel that was in the center of Florence. Overall we were very happy with the hotel. It was a 5 minute walk from the train station (which was nice since we did 2 day trips to Rome and 1 to Venice). It was also within a 5-15 min walk of all the other main sites in […] Florence. The hotel was very clean (new towels every day, coffee cups always cleaned, etc.). The front desk staff was very helpful with all of our "touristy" questions and was very accommodating. The free buffet breakfast was also pretty good (cereals, yogurt, meats, cheese, eggs, pastries, fresh fruit, breads, jellies, juice, & coffee/tea). The bed wasn't the most comfortable but we didn't expect anything plush for the price we paid. We wold definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
