"Great Hotel in Florence"
We stayed at the Albergotto for 4 nights when we were in Florence. The hotel itself is in a great spot, although Florence is such an easy walking city, most spots would be OK. The hotel room was nice, spacious for a European hotel. Free Wifi was great, after nearly 2 weeks of paying for wifi in other parts of Italy. The staff was gracious and helpful, […] although one of their dinner recommendations was not great, their 2nd recommendation of Trebboli was just what we were looking for, off the beaten path and local. Would definitely stay there again. Just be aware that the hotel is above the Gucci store, so you are walking up stairs.... Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A wonderful experience in a perfect location!"
The hotel staff were so friendliy and helpful, the breakfast was delicious, the room was very clean and large, and the location may be the best part yet, located in the middle of great shopping and a few blocks walk to the Duomo, river, and all the attractions. Highly recommend this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"If you enjoy avoiding chain hotels..."
The hotel is in a very central location. Less than a 10 minute walk from the central train station, 3 minute walk to the river and a 10 minute walk to the Dumoa. When I checked in, they knew my name before I even said anything. I booked a single room, and the manager upgraded my room for free. The hotel is located in a very posh, quiet, high retail […] area. arrived late to Florence- staff greeted me at midnight and was so helpful with luggage and answered questions. I had an early departure the next morning and the staff was kind enough to make a full breakfast buffet an hour early- that's great service! Room was fine except a little small as are all singles in Florence. I recommend this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very centrally located. Room was clean and the shower temperature/pressure was better than other hotels in the area. We walked everywhere (including the train station after we checked out). It's in the middle of the upscale shopping district. We had a nice city view from our room. Other reviewers complained about the walk up the steps and the elevator […] stopping on the 1st floor - get over it. The porters will bring your bags up and down if you desire it. The elevator stopped for about a second (the front desk is up one level and that's how they maintain awareness of who's entering the hotel) and the inconvenience was negligible. Good breakfast in the morning. For the price, we were very happy with the room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Great place to stay. Service was fabulous. We we upgraded to a suite, they held our luggage while we traveled around other towns in Italy and our bags were in our room when we got back. The hotel is very clean and quiet. The location is great. It is close to the train station and an easy walk to all major sites. We found the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. "Exceptional Service!!! Highly Recommended"
I rarely leave comments on these websites but felt I had to for this hotel. My friend and I were attending a wedding in Florence and decided to travel within Italy and outside of Italy for the 2 weeks before the wedding and we decided to use the Albergotto as our base for our travels. We each had separate rooms and stayed 3 separate nights and it was […] the best experience I have had with a hotel in a long time. I emailed ahead of time to let them know we were staying 3 non-consecutive nights and to request if possible storage of our extra bags because we didn't want to lug around 2 weeks worth of stuff. They graciously agreed and were so fantastic with storing our bags (even after we both came back with an extra bag). Our bags were always available to us and by our last night there our bags were in our room before we even got there. All the hotel staff were excellent but it just so happened that most of our arrivals or departures occurred when Luca was on duty, he is want one expects when one thinks of a hospitality professional, courteous, friendly, and helpful. He made museum reservations for us and recommended great dinning options. I can not say enough about the service he provided during our stay at the hotel. As for the hotel the rooms were lovely, charming and very European, the baths were small very well decorated and clean. If you want a small hotel in the heart of it all with charming rooms and great service you cannot go wrong with the Albergotto hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel, great location"
The hotel was centrally located. The staff was very helpful and accomodating.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is located within walking distance of the historic district. The room was spacious and very comfortable, nicely decorated as well. Only one problem. Our room faced the street which was noisy the night we were there. If we go again I'll choose the same hotel, but ask for a room away from the main street. "Hotel Albergotto in Florence, It Great Location!"
Very nice hotel. Great location! Only negative comment was the air conditioning wasn't yet turned on....time of year(early April). It was rather warm in the room...about 26C. Only way to cool room was to open window, which then allows all the street noise(cars, scooters, people laughing/shouting) to keep you awake at night. Don't forget earplugs!! Truly, […] only negative comment. I would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, great service"
Just about everything regarding this hotel was great. The staff was wonderful in helping me decide on tours. They were extremely attentive to all my needs. The only complaint I would have was that my single bed was not comfortable at all. Also, the temperature control was not working properly and it would get hot in my room at night. Other than that, […] the room was kept very clean, the breakfast was wonderfult, the staff was courteous, location was great, it was relatively quite, and I would stay there again. "Business/Leasure Trip to Florence"
Staff was very helpful. Excellent location near many great restaurants and museums. Convenient to the main transportation center. Large room by European standards. Breakfast was very nice. The weather was unseasonably warm for early April and the hotel had not converted to A/C mode, so the room had the potential to become a bit warm during the day, […] however, they did provide a room fan which made all the difference in the world. "Albergotto in Florentine Spring"
My wife and I just spent several days in Florence, staying at the Albergotto. Took the train into town and a cab had us at the hotel in 5 minutes (if you are running on portable luggage, the walk would take you 10). The porter wrangled our bags up the stairs to the elevator (classic European elevator, size of a phone booth). Check in was effortless. […] We'd prepaid the hotel but had to pony up 20-odd euro for the city guest tax, which has to be collected in cash (same deal in Rome). Room was comfortable, a bit warm at times but opening a window for a few minutes. Nice bathroom (shower only but made up for it with very precise temperature and water pressure controls). I particularly liked the design of the bidet, which put a stream of water where one needed it, at whatever temperature one liked. Location is superb - you are on Conspicuous Consumption Central with via del Tornabuoni. The hotel itself occupies the floors above Gucci. The street houses Tiffany, Cartier, Vuitton, Armani, et al. Not that we were shopping there, but it is a very showy set of neighbors. Almost any hotel in the old city will be within a few minutes of the main sights. From Albergotto, it is two blocks to Piaaza della Signoria, two more to the Duomo or to Piazza della Republica (and thus the Uffizi). A map of Florence will tell the rest of that tale. We were delighted with everything about our stay except its brevity. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The man in reception was very professional and helpful. The lady was even a little rude to us. awesome location, close to all touristic places and in the high end stores street. We received a comp pastries and bottle of wine. Parking is not on site and extremely expensive. Otherwise a very nice hotelGenuine Expedia guest review
The only drawback is the number of stairs to get into the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is right in the middle of everything. Its about a 10min walk to Santa Maria Novella train station, 3min to Ponte Vecchio, 12mins to Duomo, 15 to 20min to go see statue of David, and about 10mins to the Uffizi. Its also in the heart of the fashion district in Florence. A ton of great restaurants in the neighborhood. I had a room that had 1 […] double bed, which was very spacious. The shower stall is really tiny, but I feel like that is typical in Europe. The TV is tiny, but if you don't plan on spending too much time in your hotel room it shouldn't be an issue. The AC worked fine, and kept the room cool. Overall very happy with the hotel and would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Does the job, but not much different from a 3 stars"
U will have to climb a set of stars up and down to reach the hotel elevator which is annoying during check in and check out. Realized they had a bell boy after carrying my bags to the elevators. The sign was not there for some reason. Did not feel there is a major change from a 3 star hotel execpt for the food which was a bit better and may be the bathroom. "Would stay again"
My husband & I stayed here for our honeymoon. We were on a budget but were looking for a hotel that was in the center of Florence. Overall we were very happy with the hotel. It was a 5 minute walk from the train station (which was nice since we did 2 day trips to Rome and 1 to Venice). It was also within a 5-15 min walk of all the other main sites in […] Florence. The hotel was very clean (new towels every day, coffee cups always cleaned, etc.). The front desk staff was very helpful with all of our "touristy" questions and was very accommodating. The free buffet breakfast was also pretty good (cereals, yogurt, meats, cheese, eggs, pastries, fresh fruit, breads, jellies, juice, & coffee/tea). The bed wasn't the most comfortable but we didn't expect anything plush for the price we paid. We wold definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"The 1st case when the hotel's rate of expedia is not true"
The location: very center, it's true, but if you travel by car - it'll be tremendous problem to get it, as almost all the area around is pedestrian. Narrow streets, absolutely no signs made my research of this hotel truly not pleasant. The staff was very friendly and professional, at the same time. I was not fond of the room as I had been expected it […] to be more luxurious due to description in Expedia, but it coluld be rated as "3" of "4", almost ok. We travelled with our children ages 11 and 12. We were very satisfied with our stay. The staff at the Albergotto was superb. Very helpful and well informed. "Good Location, unresponsive to Air Conditioning issue"
The room was neat and clean and the hotel was in a great downton location. The Air Conditioning did not work and I explained this to the hotel staff 3 times. I was told that it didn't work the way US Air Conditioning does. I am in the maint. and repair business and I know just a little about AC and when the hallway and outside temps are noticibly cooler […] you have a BIG issue that should receive attention. "Wonderful place to stay in heart of Florence"
The location on the corner of Via Tornabuoni ( like New City's Fifth Ave.) is elegant and central to many of Florence's key sights, shopping and food. "Edge of City Center near Train station"
The hotel was great except the steps WILL be a problem for those that are not physically fit. You basically take steps up two floors to where the hotel starts. Seems like three floors but it's high ceilings. Most hotels in Europe are one more star than they would be in the states. Location was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfeast was […] Europe adequate, not quite as many choices as some places in Europe but enough to choose from. They have wireless internet but no business center. There is AC but must be set at the desk. Wish I could have turned it down another degree or two when I first came in from being out all day, but got cold at night. Cheap city bus from the airport to the train station and a tourist information right across from where it lets you off. Get a city map there. From there it is a 10min. walk. Go around the corner and just follow the path/road alongside the church, Santa Maria Novella. Get halfway or to the end of the park grounds in front of the church and pick an alley/street to go in from the map. Your adventure begins. You will come to a main street soon(Tornabuoni), look for Gucci on your side of the street. The hotel entrance is on Tornabuoni, beside Gucci. The main road that is coming in from across the street from the hotel is your path to the heart of Florence. Or go down the street and to the Pitti Palace. Take care of all your ticket reservations before getting to Florence. Call the officail museum website for the best prices. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel for the money"
Terrific hotel. Fantastic location. Can not say enough about the staff, they were outstanding...could not have been more helpful. Rooms are not luxurious, but the location and great service make up for it.Genuine Expedia guest review
What a fantastic find! My stay at the Albergotto couldn't have been better. The hotel couldn't be more perfectly located...in a charming historic building on swanky Via Tournabuoni in the heart of Florence. Though its central location might imply noise and disruption, it's actually quite quiet and secluded. Much to my relief, I found the Albergotto's […] ambience to be that of a boutique hotel. Its size is appealing and manageable and the staff was super helpful and courteous. An ample breakfast, which was included, was a very appreciated feature. If you're looking for a well-run hotel, a great value, near the Duomo, with fantastic sightseeing and shopping literally right outside the door, give the Albergotto serious consideration. "A great place to stay in Florence"
This is a great place to stay when in Florence....the staff was very friendly and helpful....gave a great recommendation for dinner....BucoMario's....We were upgraded....so I do not know what a standard room would have been like, but there are antiques throughout the building, the rooms were clean and the bathroom was adequate..the water pressure in […] the shower was good....
